BEFORE: Kelly Carlson has semi-retired from active boxing duty and serves as the Odds & Ends Studio head trainer these days but if someone volunteers to have her butt kicked, she's always ready to roll back the years and show the youngsters how it's done! Charlotte Church scratched Kim Kardashian off the Lookout! Boxing roster at the start of October and has targeted the shapely blonde actress into an equally rough reality check but the experts believe she's maybe a little over her head against a superior opponent who's displayed more skill in the past than both Church and Kardashian combined. The only question mark? Carlson's last fight was in January 2014 and nobody knows if the buxom blonde hasn't simply lost the necessary edge after such a long lay-off period.
Charlotte Church wears a green bikini and white gloves. Shoulder length light brown hair. Kelly Carlson wears a red bikini and silver gloves. Shoulder length blonde hair. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Church still rides the Kardashian mojo early in the fight and jumps at the fellow blonde with a jabbing menace splitting Carlson's mitts with ease and thumping her cheeks so furiously it raises many eyebrows in the arena. Wasn't this Welsh singer supposed to be a mere pushover here? Guess Charlotte and LCA never received that script as Kelly is forced into a quick retreat down the strech and fails to address the high tempo of the opening round. Church thrives on the lack of response and head hunts the older woman with repeated strikes to the point that Carlson's best idea to stop the rout is a blatant clinch that enables her to survive the round but she literally didn't land a single power punch all the way through.
Round 2:
Carlson finally arrives on the scene and blasts a wicked cross on the eye to reel Church on her heels; she picks it up from there and volleys into the singer's face with more jabs, freezing the Welsh foe midring during the opening minute. It's a complete turnaround from the previous contest and now Charlotte has to cave in with Kelly thumping the heavy leather and trying to dismantle the high guard. She manages to break through after a while and sends Church into a circling escape but is halted late when the singer avoids getting trapped on the ropes and bursts into her face from the back foot throwing chaotic shots that still expose the older blonde and prevent her cleaning out the post.
Round 3:
A feisty tangle in the middle of the ring has Charlotte's head rocking as she gets caught with the initial attack; Kelly still prefers the head hunting drill and roots the singer to the spot while delivering the punishment upstairs. Church's guard crumbles after a while and the Welsh blonde has to circle herself out of there but she loses her footing and is bumped back to the ropes with Carlson rolling along with the facial assault and thumping vicious leather to shut the younger foe off. Charlotte seeks another clinching respite but gets whacked on the ribcage as Kelly finally switches her targets and keeps the Welsh girl trapped on the ropes drilling the ab muscles and even moving up for some unexpected chest muggin' in the dying seconds. Church is furious with that tactics and has to adjust her bikini top while glaring down at the American with no sympathy whatsoever.
Round 4:
Church makes Carlson pay for that brief JMD-like period and beats her for an overhand swing jumping out of her corner like it's the last chance salloon; Kelly fails to waves away from the close range assault and endures a head hunting nightmare during the opening minute before getting sunk on her knees when Church punishes her liver area. The following clinch only postpones the further dismay and Church whacks the temples from both sides reeling a moaning actress back to the ropes where it's her turn to deliver the JMD punishment as she bumps into Kelly's chest and bursts the cleavage open. She clips the chin with a measured follow up and if the fight needed an extra spark to make it personal, Carlson just accepted the gauntlet wholesale. Both women stare down at each other with evil look in their eyes at the bell and that's exactly what the crowd wanted!
Round 5:
Blow for blow early in the fifth, bruising display of CW-like boxing standards that's destined to expire before too long but not until Carlson tears the skin under Church's left eye while soaking up a swollen brow ridge herself. No quarter given from any of these two veterans but no real breakthrough either after a battle scar tie. Clinch follows and Kelly looks to be breathing heavier while the Welsh singer still looks to dump some JMD misery on her but is clattered on the liver and spins back to the ropes when the actress finds the neccessary burst to come out on top of the route. She sinks Church with a belting hook on the navel and springs into an uppercut decider that whips the younger woman against the ropes with eyes closed conceding defeat in this round. Carlson almost whacked her in the chest after the bell as well but found enough self esteem in time to avoid the referee's wrath.
Round 6:
Church looks spend after that difficult round but bumps her rival off in close range as Kelly's eyes lit up with more liver target plans; they share a cross hooking route on the mouth but then the singer drills it on the ear to stun Carlson on jelly knees on the spot... CUE IN THE JAW-BREAKER as the singer powers ahead straight between the American's mitts and tags her on chin moments later! Joe Calzaghe would be proud of that shot! AND CARLSON GOES ALL TIMBER!!! She crumbles flat on her back and hits her head against the boards quite heavily too... Charlotte struts back to her corner, this is no place for BBU-like gloating and the ref begins the count quickly... too quickly for the fallen blonde who only sits up at seven and looks very dizzy here... she tries to make it up on one knee at the very least but wobbles on her side again and is shockingly counted out in front of her home audience... KO6 Charlotte Church!!!
AFTER: Church goes two on the bounce and upsets the odds by sending the Odds & Ends buxom blonde down for the count! Tractorpull Magazine doesn't buy into the Kardashian mojo, Carlson would have rolled the socialite up in her sleep, but this result demands some questions? Charlotte is all over the ring dancing around the utterly shocked opponent who sits down on the canvas and doesn't realize what just happened here. Even the lengthy period away from the ring doesn't justify the bang-bang play that ragdolled her into a KO demise. If that's the way Kelly's career should officially end, then it must be postponed until further notice!
Meanwhile Charlotte believes she can assume the full-time American role with the Lioness Club having been shipped back to BBU when the stables formed. She has little chance to upstage Minka Kelly but with Eva Mendes' career nearing it's conclusion the Beta place is up for grabs and the Welsh blonde has her sights set on the SSB salary. She's still 29 years old and the youngest bantamweight fighter within the LCA range however with new league names being planned for January PPV one can't rule out Mr. V making a future investement and keeping Charlotte primarily back in the UK.
