BEFORE:

Plenty of buzz surrounding this one, as it contains not only one of the rising stars in the bantam division in Robbie, who fought for the title last month, but, also the debut of one of the two biggest names of the new television season, Priyanka Chopra. And, while Chopra isn't playing "Supergirl" like the other big name, Melissa Benoist, she's IS playing a badass character. She's also supermodel gorgeous and has a boxing training video blowing up YouTube. If she were ten years younger, or, even five, every stable in the FCBA would be jostling to sign her. But, making her debut on pay-per-view against a fighter of this caliber tells you all you need to know about her attractiveness as an opponent,

Both fighters all about respect in the run up. "She was fighting Fishel for the bantamweight title a month ago, so there's no question of her pedigree," says Chopra. "But. While this is my first FCBA fight, it's not my first time in the ring. I belong in there with her, and I'll prove that tonight."

"There's plenty of video that shows how good this girl is," says Margot. "She came out of that meat grinder at Miss World, beat them all, then went to Bollywood and fought her way to the top. Anyone who thinks she doesn't have what it takes to fight here is in for a rude awakening."

ROUND ONE:

Robbie looking to test Chopra early. She's looked at all that video she talked about in the pre-fight and knows Priyanka's quick and athletic and moves extremely well, but how about the legs? Are they sturdy? And, how about the punch? Is it strong enough to keep girls off? Margot wants to know. So, she looks to work forward behind the jab, keeping the head tucked, looks to grab canvas, make the Indian beauty retreat. Testing. One. Two. Three. Testing. But, the brunette is all about passing tests. She doesn't retreat. She doesn't circle. She stands right in front of Margot and fires back. She takes some hard right hands from the blonde, and the legs hold up just fine. And she responds with some hard, accurate leather that stops Margot in her tracks. Yes. The legs are sturdy. Yes, the punch can keep girls off. And, back them up, too. Because, not only does Chopra stop Margot's advance, she reverses it, putting punches together beautifully, using the quick hands to mount flurries that force the blonde to back and cover. Robbie's forced to the defensive and remains there most of the round, and, by the time it's over, Chopra's in control and in the lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

Questions answered, Margot changes tack somewhat. She stops moving forward, instead squaring up to box at range. Priyanka willing to play this game, too, with those quick hands and excellent feet, and it doesn't take long until we've got some good, two-way action going, with both fighters getting things put together and getting leather on target. Neither neglects the defense, however. Both move the head, hands and feet. Both slip, dip, pick, and block. It's good stuff. Educated stuff. Even stuff. Until it isn't. Slowly, but surely, Margot begins to get the better of things. She's able to get the geometry down and cause the Indian beauty problems with it. Priyanka's still scoring, mind, just not as often as the blonde is. It's subtle at first, then becomes more obvious. Robbie's in rhythm. She's getting off more. She's landing cleaner stuff. Until, eventually, by the end of the round, it's Chopra on the defensive and Margot claiming the round to even things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Margot wants more ranged warfare, but now it's Priyanka changing terms. The Indian gets moving. She's not standing in front of the blonde any longer. Now it's the jab-and-circle game, with Margot centered, turning with. And, Chopra's good at this, too. She bounces, snapping a whippet left jab, bobbing the head, looking to set up rights, and, when she finds an opening, BAM! The right hand snakes out, landing sharply, stinging the blonde, before snapping back into place. It's excellent stuff, and shows exactly why Priyanka has become among the most feared opponents in India. But, there are reasons Margot Robbie earned a title shot, too. She slowly adjusts to what Chopra's doing, gets the footwork down and matched, gets her own offense off while keeping the guard high, picking off some of those quick jabs and solid follows. Priyanka has the edge early, but, by the end of the round, the pair is on even terms. At the bell, it's Chopra close, and Priyanka back on the lead 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

More movement from the brunette. Priyanka circling, turning the Aussie. Margot working her own feet hard, looking to match footwork and square. It's not a game of cat and mouse. It's cat and cat, with both blonde and brunette working hard to get their offense on target, and both having success in spots. The difference comes not in the number of punches thrown or the number landed, but the number of CLEAN punches that get on target. Chopra's touching mostly with the left now, having the right slipped or blocked by Robbie's high gloves. Margot, though, is getting combinations on, landing the hard right more cleanly, scoring better with it. It's not experience, so much, because Chopra's fought plenty. It's effective experience. It's knowledge and reactive instinct gained by having been in the ring with girls like DeCesare, Valance, Holt, VanCamp, Lilly and Danes. It's something Margot has and Priyanka doesn't. And, in the fourth, it makes the difference. Margot claims the points and evens things again, this time at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Priyanka on the move again. She's getting a bit more active now, getting the jab off more quickly and more often, looking to create cleaner openings for the right hand, and it's working. Robbie keeping the guard high, holding her punches until she can square, then getting off quickly and in combination, but, with the increased activity from Priyanka, those opportunities are fewer, allowing Chopra to slowly begin to take control of the round. Until, she isn't. Because all that noise ends suddenly, and it comes in the form of a nasty right hand from the blonde. A straight left sets it up, and the right BOOMS in behind it, catching Chopra on the chin and wobbling her legs. The brunette stumbles, but stays on her feet, desperately hurt. Margot wastes no time stepping in and letting 'em go, sending Priyanka staggering with a left hook and then DROPPING HER TO WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT! The Indian girl is down on her back, staring up sightlessly, as the referee counts. She's still there, head lolling, as the count reaches ten, making your winner by KO5, Margot Robbie!

AFTER:

Margot takes some time to check on Priyanka in her corner, then compliments the beaten beauty in the post-fight interview. "She's going to beat people," says the blonde with a nod. "No question of that. One thing you can't always tell from video is how well a girl punches. Well, I'm here to tell you, she can hit. And she can TAKE a hit, too, because I hit her with some shots that would have put a lot of bantams down and out and she kept coming. I suspect we'll see one another again down the road. But, make no mistake. The results won't be any different. I've been in with the best this division has to offer. I've been in with them. And, now I'm ONE of them. Make no mistake about THAT, either."
