Jeri Ryan vs Dina Meyer
by Lookout/simgrrl

Tale-of-the-Tape: Ryan (73-56-4) 47yo, 5'8”, 125#; Meyer (19-13-0) 46yo, 5'7” 120#

Ryan taking time off from the JMDD wars to mix it up with slender redhead Dina Meyer, back in an FCBA ring after a six year hiatus. Dina's reportedly been busy with celebrity MMA, a bit of wrestling and club boxing shows. The last six months, however, Meyer has been training hard with Demi Moore (who fought Jeri Ryan a couple of months ago). People forget that, back in the day, Meyer was a force to be reckoned with in FCBA - winning Lightweight & Welterweight titles in 2000 and 2003, respectively. Her victories then included two (count 'em 2) KO's of Jeri Ryan!

“Demi provided valuable insight into Ryan's tactics - and weaknesses,” Dina said. “You know how brunettes love to dish about blondes,” she laughed. “I'm not kidding myself; Jeri Ryan has been fighting some really good women for years, but if you look closely at her record, it's pretty spotty. She got steamrolled by Cat Bell in 2008, then had jus two fights in '09. She got her doors blown off in 2010, and only fought twice in '11. She won four of five in 2012, but then she showed up two times in over two years. She hasn't shown a lot of stamina and after five or six fights, it looks like she needs a couple of years to recover.

“If you haven't noticed, this is her SEVENTH fight this year. Is she out of gas? She sure didn't impress anyone against Demi last month. I'm what the horse racing folks call 'lightly raced' but I'm never really out of shape. Right now, I'm in tip-top condition for this fight. I'm going to take the fight to her and at the bell, I'll be standing over her with my foot on those JMD's she likes to flaunt. I'm sure she won't remember, but we fought twice before and after each one she woke up face down, so I proved I can reach Jeri's jaw!”

Ryan laughing off Meyer's bravado. “Stories of my demise get printed every year, but they've never been right. I spent years running my own stable and I fight only when, or if, I want to. After listening to Dina rant and rave like a crazy woman, I'm looking forward to facing her. If she puts any part of her anatomy on my so-called “JMD's” I guarantee you...it will be her face, not a foot! I didn't sign up for a JMDD fight, so unless she says or does something to deserve it, I'll treat her like any other opponent; after I knock her out!”

Both women dressed for battle in thong bikini's: Ryan red with red gloves and bare feet; Meyer white with white gloves and white shoes.

During R1:  Dina comes out committed to offense, knowing the longer it goes the less her chances are for a win. Dina said Demi Moore gave her 'inside info' on Ryan and here in the early going it seems to be the case. Time and again, Ryan wrong-footed or beaten to the punch as Meyer adopts a variety of unorthodox tactics; peek-a-boo, left handed; backing off to lure Ryan forward; going all-in aggressive; never giving Ryan the same look or tempo from one second to the other. It's not something a rookie could get away with, but an old vet like Meyer, who's trained specifically for this one fight, is somehow making it all work. Early aggressive success - if not the eclectic, smorgasbord, variety of styles, reminiscent of Meyer's fights from a decade ago. Whether she can maintain it is questionable, but for one round, at least, she's having success and confounding Ryan with it.
Jeri counter-punching effectively in spots, and when she connects solidly the effect of the blows on the more slightly built Meyer are electric. A few times she's literally stopped in her tracks by a hard body shot. Dina keeping up the pressure, scoring with slick combinations while Ryan depends on single power shots for scoring points. Interesting how the judges will see it as Dina lands more often; Ryan harder, more damaging, ones. At the bell it's Ryan gets the nod, and a slight edge in points.

R2: Dina thumped around in the first, looks to change momentum with her opening flurry, unleashing the same right that stopped Ryan in 2001 and 2003! But time's taken something from her power and, when it connects, it's not the same as a dozen years ago! Still, Meyer's a busy little redheaded bee, and she's giving Jeri all she's got...more than enough to occupy Ryan who's forced to put her own right on ice and forego the reckless attempts to impose her will she showed in the first round.
Dina working from a deep crouch, moving in and out briskly; coming in behind rat-a-tat-tat combos to Jeri's face; then backing out to elude Ryan's response. Whenever Meyer can get inside she'll set up for a prolonged stay; starting off low then hammering her way up Jeri's jiggling torso until she tries to finish with chin-check - or two! When Dina's successful, Ryan is staggered, blinking in shock at the effrontery of some 'has-been' treating her the same way Ryan used to treat her victims.
Again, Meyer lands more punches; Ryan lands harder ones. Meyer settling into her rhythm after some early fight jitters, but when this one goes on the cards, it's Ryan's round again - though by the slenderest of margins.

R3: After a pep talk from her trainer Demi Moore, Meyer with renewed energy, roars out and traps Jeri in her corner off the bell. Not satisfied with jackin' Jeri up, Dina gives the aging blond a rampaging, two-fisted, body beating! Ryan controlling Dina's head with both hands, gives up her body, so Meyer helps herself to it! Dina twisting her torso, ripping up Jeri's middle; keeping her forehead wedged between the twin pillows jumping and bouncing in the middle of Ryan's heaving chest.
Grimly determined Meyer, hup, hup, hupping away at Ryan's abs as Ryan slides back flat-footed, trying to walk Dina into one of her deadly right hands. Meyer ducking and swinging out of a low crouch AND RYAN'S HURT!
They turn on simultaneous right hands but it's Dina comes out the winner, sending the blonde flopping awkwardly back against the ropes. Jeri almost goes down but grabs the top ropes to stay upright. Dina quickly jumps in to dig into the blonde's flanks and mid-section with lashing, long-armed strokes that buckle Ryan's knees and numb her body. Next thing you know, Dina's coming up the middle after Ryan's rack as Jeri slumps butt-in-the-ropes, gloves at her temples, elbows tucked protectively over her throbbing juggs trying to ride it out.
Trapped, Ryan tries once, twice, then a third time, to fight her way off the ropes - but each time she's rebuffed as Meyer hooks hooter and criss-crosses cleavage! Finally, with both women laboring the action bogs down to clinching and wrestling, forcing the referee step in. Dina - thinking the fight was stopped - spins away arms raised with a whoop of joy! It takes a few seconds for the referee to catch her and explain he was just breaking them up. Meyer isn't pleased and takes her anger out on Ryan for the rest of the round! Dina with a fast closing spring, wins on points (close).

R4: Dina spearing Jeri's belly button. From that low crouch, she's able to duck inside under Ryan's right with some consistency. Standing upright, fighting off Ryan's chest, Dina really tears the blond up to the body, keeping her hands in, snatching and snapping at Ryan's rack, curling rude uppercuts in under those lush tits when she's inside the blondes defenses.
At range, Meyer more upright, bobbing and weaving, cutting down the ring, herding Ryan to the ropes or limiting her to one of the corners. Second minute, Dina ducks the second half of a one-two combo from Jeri, comes out of her crouch and drills the blond with a hard left hook! Ryan's hurt! Vicious head-swiveling hook rattles Ryan, forces her to clinch. Jeri hanging on belly-to-belly, moanin' and groanin'. Wadda shot by Dina! Jeri backs off, hunkers down and from there it's a heartless, toe-to-toe slugging match to the bell with both women eschewing defensive niceties for any opportunity to hurt the other. And Dina takes another round on points.

R5: Ryan starting to time Meyer better now, wallops her with that thunder 'n' lightening, over the top, right hand in the opening minute! Dina's knees buckle and she wobbles briefly, then shakes it off and keeps coming forward, looking to pull the trigger of an answering 'right lightening' of her own.
Meyer's work rate slowing, her punches losing some steam; but she doggedly keeps coming after Ryan, unwilling to relinquish her 'pressure offense' in the face of Ryan's hard-hitting reputation. Where before it was Ryan who initiated most of the clinching, now it's Dina looking for a moment or two to catch her breath. Ryan looking like the fresher fighter as the fight nears its half-way point. Referee giving Meyer cautions for holding and hitting; breaking them apart frequently as both women visibly tiring. Meyer hits Ryan flush on the chin during one break and Jeri shrugs it off without any apparent effect on the sturdy blond.
Meyer giving ground late in the second minute, defenses breaking down, Ryan starting to drill hard shots to her perky, pale, puppies. Driving Dina's butt back between the ropes, Jeri hooks her high on the head then brings that sweeping right hay-maker low to the body buckling Meyer's legs. Redhead grimacing, bent forward out over her legs, reaching with both hands to clinch with Jeri up high. Ryan just pounds Dina's puppies, slugging heartlessly with both fists sweeping wide around her outstretched arms until Meyer can't take any more and MEYER'S DOWN. Redhead crumples to her knees, hugging herself, rocking back and forth as Ryan backs off, turns and walks to the far corner to await the count.
Dina on her knees, taking ragged breaths, shakes her head, wipes her tears with the back of her gloves, then bravely struggles to her feet and nods, 'I'm OK' before the referee restarts the action with less than a minute left.
Meyer retreating in good order, leans away from a Ryan hook that nevertheless clips her chin just enough to short-circuit her already addled brain. Ryan comes back with a stuffing right on the mouth, pushing Meyer's chin in and DINA'S HURT AGAIN! Meyer stumbles back onto the ropes and as Jeri Ryan is winding up to finish, the bell rings saving Meyer - with an assist from the alert referee who jumps in to intercept the 'Ryan Express' Jeri was about to throw. Jeri's round on points (wide).

R6: Meyer hoping to answer Ryan's big round with one of her own; stalking, hurling vicious left hooks in under Ryan's right elbow; windmilling overhand rights that crash down over Ryan's raised left. For the nearly stationery Dina, offense is now her best (only?) defense. With her legs showing the effect of a prolonged time away from training, she's little left in her bag of tricks but offense.
First minute a reprise of the previous round with the sluggish Meyer flailing her arms with little to show for it; her legs having deserted her and left her on an island with no way to escape short of a KO.
It's like one of those awful cliche late nite movies on Lifetime; everyone knows how it'll end but Dina still goes into the dark room to answer a phone call from the killer who's hiding in the closet. Midway, Dina misses a lunging right and Ryan responds with a quick, short, slashing right that lands flush on her jaw! DINA GOES DOWN! Meyer thrown backward, lands flat on her back. Her legs fly up, then flop limp to the canvas. Gazing up at the bright white lights, her left arm raises in an unconscious gesture, then drops across her face; shielding her eyes from the glare. Ryan jogs away, arms raised as the referee comes in to count over the fallen redhead.
At this point, it's a formality. Meyer barely moves...only her left leg spasms several times as the referee counts her out, then waves his arms overhead and quickly drops to one knee to remove Dina's mouthpiece. Medics hustle into the ring to tend to the fallen fighter while the referee gets up, wipes his hands on his shirt and gives Ryan's right arm a perfunctory raise in the air. Jeri Ryan wins a KO6!

After: Nothing in the aftermath anything like what Jeri's capable of doing if this were one of her JMDD bouts. Ryan, stepping gingerly as if her aching body is protesting, minces across the ring to the corner where Dina sits slumped numbly on her stool. Once she knows Dina's alright, Jeri gives her a (gentle) hug and a quick slap of the gloves before she gets back to her own corner for her robe; then off to the press room for the obligatory meet and yak with the ink-stained wretches of the media!

“Dina's a tough old bird,” Jeri says. “Coming off a long time away from regular competition, she gave me all I wanted...more than that in the early rounds. Don't anybody try and tell me this was an 'easy' fight or that she's too old. I got her out of there as early as I could, this was no walk in the park.”

Asked a question about her plans for her next fight, Jeri held up her hand in a 'stop' gesture. “I have no idea what's next for me,” she said. “Right now all I'm thinking about is getting some ice on my juggs.”

“Cat Bell and I don't correspond,” Jeri huffed her answer when she was asked about her missing stablemate. “If we did, I wouldn't inquire about her health...or her travel schedule. You want to know about Catherine 'The Great' ask her publicist, her agent, or her manager. Don't bother me with any of that crap!”

But when the topic turned to something close to her heart, Jeri's bosom, she was quick to smile. “Yes, I think JMDD is the future, much like MMA is the future. The FCBA's been behind the power curve in adapting to new forms of combat, but you see all these buxom young actresses and singers coming along and they all want to get in each others face. What better way to do it, I ask you, than JMD?”

Dina, for someone who was unconscious a few minutes before, was remarkably composed and didn't look all THAT much the worse for wear. In fact, she looked better than Ryan had.

“I got off to a good start,” she said. “And for a while there, I had visions of a huge upset... although not on the scale of Holm-Rousey. That would have made Jeri Ryan a Rousey, and you all know she's too far over the hill to be compared to Ronda!”

“Darn right she does!” Dina admitted when asked if Jeri still hit hard. “I was winning the fight and next thing I know I'm on my back. After that, I could just never get my head right. She's old, but I wouldn't be surprised if you told me you woke her up in the middle of the night on her 80th birthday and she still knocked you out with one punch, without warming. She's just got a 'natural' power punchers build.”

“Of course I'd fight again,” Dina answered when asked if there was any chance she'd make this comeback permanent and fight again. “We've already got a trainer in Demi Moore; now all we need is someone to ask us....oh, and someone to put up the money. That and a few thousand people to buy tickets. I don't think that's too much to ask, do you?”
