This promises to be an interesting bout between two fighters on the edge of the welterweight top 10, and Paula has certainly guided herself through this year, the girl almost 40 years old, and taking on the big breasted Brit, who will surely look to get her out of the way quickly tonight.

Paula’s wearing a black bikini with white gloves and boots, while Gemma wears a yellow bikini with matching gloves and boots, and the 31 year old blonde looks ready for action tonight.

Round 1

Paula’s surprised Gemma in the opening seconds as she’s moving really well, and giving the bigger girl more punishment than she wants, her gloves finding Gemma’s face, and also tucking into her body. Gemma’s a tough prospect these days, though, putting in a lot of time in the gym, and has her own range of fitness products in the UK . She takes the shots from Paula, and bumps the older girl backwards, landing a pair of heavy shots to her body, which clearly hurt her, but she manages to clinch and let the referee reset the pair of them. After that, Paul’s keeping out of trouble, boxing neatly, and landing more leather than Gemma, who’s slightly off the pace in this opening round.

Round 2

Gemma needs to be more motivated in this round, and she’s certainly started it in amore aggressive mood, snapping Paula’s head sideways in the first exchange as her right hook lands on the older girl’s jaw, and that spins her backwards to the ropes. But Gemma’s reticent about following that up, and Paula gets to recover, getting back at the bigger girl with nice work on the inside, which comes to a close as Gemma gives her two sharp shots to the ribs, opening the American up, and Gemma lands to her face again, Paula staggered and wide-eyed as she stumbles on her heels, almost going down, but staying vertical as Gemma again gives her time, Paula closing the round well as she raps some jaba’s mouth.

Round 3

Again, Gemma’s backing off, letting Paula dictate to her – the older girl isn’t really troubling the big blonde with her punches, but she’s landing too many for the Beevers Babes corner, who scream at Gemma to attack. The Brit hits Paula with a couple of decent shots, and again has the older actress in trouble, but she’s losing concentration again, and Paula darts into her with a series of jabs, following this with some good shots to her body, and she’s hurt Gemma this time, the big blonde looking at her corner for guidance, Paula swiping her to the mouth with a nice hook in the closing seconds, and she’s beginning to dominate The English girl at this stage.

Round 4

Paula seems to be growing in confidence as she lands a low left hook in Gemma’s flank, but this time the bigger girl fights back, and she gives Paula two of her best punches yet to the face, the brunette staggering again as the left hooks arrow in on her cheek, and she’s going backwards with Gemma whaling shots into her from range, nothing hurried about the big girl’s punching, just targeting Paula’s face and crashing her punches past those defensive gloves, the older girl backing into the ropes, bobbing and weaving, but still getting caught, eventually managing to clinch. The girls are broken and reset, and Gemma’s giving Paula more of the same, lifting the poor girl’s head up with a pair of uppercuts in the closing seconds, Paula hurt, dazed, and very glad to get to her stool after taking a beating in the fourth.

Round 5

The referee seems concerned for Paula’s welfare between rounds, but she’s come back out for the fifth, and may instantly regret that as Gemma crashes a left and a right into her face, to put her on the canvas very early. Up she gets at 7, but Gemma doesn’t seem to want to finish her off, stands back, looking towards the referee as if she wants him to get involved, but Paula bravely takes the fight to Gemma, lands a couple of her own punches, which the blonde ignores, and she unleashes another right hook on the older girl, sending her backwards once more, looking very shaky now, her head jabbed backwards again, Gemma measuring her up, gives her another right hook to put the American on her back, and there’s no need to count that one – she’s out!

Result; Gemma Atkinson knocked out Paula Patton in round 5.

There were times in that fight where Gemma showed her old defensive frailties, the sort of frailties which are exposed when she meets the likes of Kate Upton, but for now she can celebrate a win against a very seasoned campaigner.
