Pre-fight:
Josie had her first official fight in the FCBA just a couple of weeks back with a hard-fought loss to Brooke Burns. And Jaimie seems to be on the up, with a 3-0 record, albeit against lower ranked fighters. We have bad news for Josie though; she IS a lower ranked fighter. She is also 37 years old. Some six years beyond that of Jaimie. That’s a hell of a time to be making your debut.

Jaimie seems quietly confident and calm before the fight. “I love Josie. I have an awful lot of respect for her and I was really rooting for her in her debut. I can’t root for her tonight, but I can at least try to put her out of her misery early.”

Josie keeping a can-do attitude, and why not? It’s better than the alternative. “Jaimie can box. I’ve seen her recent bouts. She’s tough. But I’m tougher than anyone is giving me credit for, and I’m going to surprise a lot of people here tonight.”

Round 1:
Josie DOES surprise the crowds as she launches right into Jaimie early, slamming a left hook against her ribs and following up with a wild cross that smacks off Jaimie’s jaw. Alexander is reeling early, probably as shocked as the masses watching as the older woman barrels gloves into her, rocking tight, fit tummy as Jaimie is propped against the ropes, just taking the beating. Nobody expected this, but Jaimie puts their minds at ease slightly when she throws a sweeping right hook up high that catches Josie napping and rocks her on the jaw. Maran obviously thankful that wasn’t any higher, as a blow to that eye could cause some real damage after barely recovering from her last bout. And nobody wants to see that. Josie cools it off, a little wary after that close hook perhaps, but still looks much more alert early than Jaimie, popping some more jabs to the kid’s face and finding those clearly sturdy abs again, giving her basically nothing to smile about by the end of the round.

Round 2:
Jaimie cautious in the second, and Josie somehow not as confident as she started, but still pushing with jabs. Alexander able to brush a lot of those aside, bar some that pop temple, and loads up with some heavy hooks that rock Josie’s ribs. Maran’s guard slips a little as tummy is then smacked, and Jaimie welcomes the space, ripping an uppercut to Josie’s chin, dizzying her. Jaime throws a hook that bounces lovely Josie jug that seems to snap Maran back into it and she retaliates with a wicked uppercut of her own, clanking off the right side of Jaimie’s jaw. Josie wants hooks to Alexander’s abs, and gets a few in before Jaimie slams left and right straight combo into the centre of Josie’s pretty face, a little blood trickling from her nose. The round ends and both women take a welcome seat, Josie starting to look a little old already comparatively, the cut man doing his best to stop that blood flow from her cute nose.

Round 3:
Jaimie slams a right straight at the centre of Josie’s face early, but Maran is still aware enough and quick enough to get the guard working, thankfully. Jaimie’s aggressive start has opened up some space low however, and a more comfortable looking Alexander goes to work on soft tummy, Josie almost doubling over by the half-dozenth shot. Josie tries to back Alexander off with a jab, but Jaimie nimbly weaves around it and rips that sharp uppercut straight through beautiful Maran features. And now the nose is bleeding again, a little more than last time. Josie’s feeble jab blocked this time and Jaimie slams an overhand that bruises Maran’s temple and has her on complete defence ‘til the end of the round, Josie reeling from Jaimie’s aggressive punches. Jaimie takes a seat smiling calmly, while Josie slumps over in her corner, touching bruised and bloodied face with one hand and softened, red tummy with the other.

Round 4:
Jaimie aggressive straight out of the gate again and slams a fist deep into Josie’s abs, shaking her. Maran is doubled up, wincing and Jaimie cracks a full uppercut through Josie’s face, snapping her head back and rocking her straight off her feet onto her back, blood spilling madly from nose and upper lip. Josie out of it, groggily trying to roll to her haunches, but shaky and slipping. She never makes it, and Jaimie Alexander wins, KO4!

Post-fight:
Josie helped up as Jaimie respectfully checks on her before engaging in any post-fight celebrations or even announcements. Josie’s nose might need a little healing, and that has to be discouraging, considering she has left her first two official fights with a busted face. Jaimie on the other hand looks a million dollars. Of course, she’ll need to fight like two million dollars if she wants a chance against Odette Yustman next main event.

“She surprised me in the first,” Jaimie admitted. “She was much more aggressive than I expected. But she seems a little unsure, particularly once things start going a bit sideways. She has talent though, and I’ll always have a ton of respect for her.”

Josie has another ice pack. Perhaps she brought this one from home. “Jaimie has the goods. If I was Yustman I wouldn’t be going into Seasons Beatings too cockily. There’s a ton of talent packed into that woman. And she can absorb some hits. Those abs of hers should have been mush after the first.”
