NINA DOBREV VS HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Hayden: 26 YO, 5’ 1 ½ (1.55 m), 57-24-1 since 2006, Foxfire Boxing

Before: This may be “The Season to Feel Jolly” and one of “Peace and Goodwill”—but not if you’ve got two fighters from Lookout and Foxfire Boxing. These two stables have long feuded in venues official and unofficial and the rivalry shows no sign of slowing down. “She’s a mean little thing,” Nina says of her petite opponent, “but I learned never to underestimate after she beat me the first time. That’s why I licked her the second time around and that’s why I’m going to it again. The best Christmas present I could have is seeing her humbled, broken and bleeding at my toes while her Foxfire Floozie stablemates tear at their hair and weep in frustration that a Lookout fighter has trounced one of their own—again!”

“I’ve been threatened by bigger and better fighters than you, Dobrev!” an incensed Hayden fires right back. “They didn’t scare me and neither do you! Yes, you beat me last time out, but that means nothing! I’m going leave the ‘Bulgarian Bully’ on her face and plant my foot on her beaten down butt in victory!”

Two ladies get so worked up that they can’t even leave the stage without getting into a pushing and shoving match. From out of nowhere Lookout flyweights Jenna Louise Coleman and Vanessa Hudgens leap onto the stage as Foxfire flyweights Sarah Carter and Adelaide Kane climb aboard and soon all six ladies are locked in a clothes ripping, hair-pulling brawl. Lookout gains the upper hand when Addie Kane is upended into a large trash bin and gets stuck wth her legs flailing. This allows Jenna Louise and Vanessa to throw Sarah Carter in on top of the unfortunate Addie, but then Hayden manages to jump onto Nina;s shoulders and cause her to crash into the gloating Jenna and Nessa sending them sprawling off the stage. Nina then loses her balance and she falls from the stage landing on Jenna and Vanessa with Hayden on top of the pile. At this point the trash falls over allowing Adelaide and Sarah to escape, but before they get over to the big squirming pile of Lookout girls Hayden is single-handedly trying to keep pinned, the spoilsports of Security arrive and separate the feuding stables.

After this episode goes viral, fans are left to wonder if the fight itself won’t turn out to be a anticlimax, but others stoutly insist that the war has merely just begun!

Come fight night., the arena Security on Red Alert as the two stables pack the ringside seats shouting encouragement to their respective teammate. Nina had chosen to a one piece with bands of white, green and red (the Bulgarian national colors, but quite appropriate for the Christmas season). There is a red shield with a golden lion standing on two legs—the Royal Bulgarian Coat of Arms—across the bottom of the suit which she then flashes at Hayden in a provocative gesture, Hayden in a white bikini with red fur trim, green gloves and boots with white laces. (Nina in white gloves and boots, red laces). Hayden has her hair pulled back in a simple ponytail. Nina’s is in a long braid down her back. Hayden takes a swing at Nina’s butt, but the slippery Bulgarian beauty slips away with a laugh. Referee has to be very stern and wags his finger at both to keep order for instructions. Somehow the preliminaries are covered without (much) further havoc and the fighters go to their corners for the bell.

R1: Both fighters seem to restrain their mutual anger and start the fight with some cool circling and punching, but as the clock ticks the intensity grows as more and more punches are thrown. Nina going right for Hayden’s body trying to throw her most muscular punching into the smaller fighter’s stomach and breasts. Hayden forced to absorb some rocking blows as she tries to strike back at Nina’s chin and jaw. Nina taking some good shots from Hayden, but her answering hooks to the Foxfire blonde’s body are forcing Hayden back. Hayden tries to circle and find openings, but Nina quicker with this move and flings some good ones against Hayden’s forehead just above her gloves. Hayden retreats looking like she’s had her bell rung. Good defense keeps Nina from taking further advantage to the bell, but the first round clearly goes to Nina D.

R2: Hayden challenges Nina at the start of this round, trying to work her way into close to the brunette by hunching up then unleashing uppercuts into Dobrev boobs and chin. Nina’s breasts get a merry bouncing around from these blows, but uppercuts in under her chin put a shiver through Nina’s body with every impact. Nina has to pull back and try to come in from the side. Brisk exchange with Hayden taking some shots to head, but responding with those uppercuts into Nina’s rack when she can’t get at her chin. Nina not looking pleased about this, but can’t seem to find an opening, though she maintains a steady punching. Round ends up going to Hayden, but it is close.

R3: Nina in a vigorous attack from the start. She hammers away at Hayden’s breasts and gives her a taste of sustained jugg mugging. Hayden grimacing as her rack is ravaged, but slams back with shots into Bulgarian belly meat. Nina suddenly pulls back just as Hayden is unleashing yet another hook to the belly, but punch hits empty air and the blonde lurches off balance. Nina opportunistically smashes a right cross to Hayden;s jaw and a left hook to her chin. AND HAYDEN GOES DOWN! Hayden falls to all four and crouches there slowly shaking her head. Referee moves in as Nina watches hopefully from neutral corner. Hayden takes a head-clearing 8 before rising at 9 and the fight resumes. However Hayden is now full-on defensive and keeps her distance from Nina with her backward retreats and covering jab. Nina can’t shake Hayden any further to the bell, but she’s won this round wide and with a knockdown to her credit.

R4: Hayden slow moving and cautious this round, which is fine with Nina Dobrev who happily circles the Foxfire blonde and keeps hammering at her from surprise directions. Hayden getting knocked around body and head as she seems sluggish is responding to Nina’s flurries. Nina’s confidence growing as she tries to physically bully Hayden back to the ropes. This finally draws some hard hooking to Nina’s belly and breasts with a quick shot to the mouth. Nina backs off the close-in stuff and goes back to trying to befuddle Hayden with her footwork and quick punching. Hayden seems to be growing more quick and accurate in her counters as time runs out in the round, but she can’t avoid losing the round wide to Nina D.

R5: Nina attempts to repeat her circle and shoot tactics again this round, but Hayden’s now quicker on her own feet and has a good jab going that makes Nina’s cheekbones feel her leather from repeated quick shots. Nina charges in close and there is a vigorous exchange of rising short hook body punching as the two glare into each other’s eyes. The eye contact seems increase the intensity of the punching and the sound of leather smacking into straining bodies can be heard by those close to the ring even as the crowd is cheering them on. Nina backs up a bit and uses her longer reach to smack Hayden’s face drawing some blood from one nostril. Hayden trying to get back in close, but Nina staying away and uses her reach to strike the petite blonde. Round ends in a narrow Nina Dobrev win, but Hayden’s giving her opponent fiery looks of defiance. Nina responds with a thrust of her golden lioned butt and Hayden leaps at her, but referee intercepts even he shouts to Nina: “Stop provoking her!”

R6: Hayden off her stool with a look of burning determination. Nina trying to use her reach once again to strike at Hayden from a distance, but Hayden ducks in close and rams her left deep into the fabric of the swimsuit covering Nina’s belly. Nina caught by surprise doubles up and her nose comes into contact with Hayden’s rising right glove. Nina jerks her head and upper body back with a squeal of pain and then Hayden loads a double right uppercut into Nina’s wide-open chin. NINA DOBREV ON HER BUTT! Nina lands hard and sits there, blood running out her swollen nose, a stunned look on her eyes, and a triumphant Hayden shaking a gloved fist at her until referee pushes her away. Understandable gesture by Hayden, but it gives the downed Nina Dobrev some precious extra seconds to pull herself together and beat the count. Hayden right back at Nina once the ref allows fight to resume, but the badly rocked Nina is strictly on the defense. Hayden keeps up the attack, moving around first to the right, then reversing to the left, trying to keep Nina off balance, and she does have the Lookout fighter confused, but she can’t get in a finishing punch. Nina very wobbly going back to her corner, the blood from her nose staining the front of her sweat drenched suit and turning into a strange shade of pink. Lookout corner people swarm all over their hurt fighter trying to repair the damage. Hayden quiet and focused listening to the advice from trainer Virginia Madsen.

R7: Nina looks very tentative and cautious coming out for this round. Hayden just plows right into her trying to hammer down Nina’s guard by working over her stomach like it was a human heavy bag. Nina tries to maintain the protection around her face, but she getting her belly, ribs and breasts just worked over again and again. Finally she lashes back with some jabbing, but Hayden is ducking under them over moving around so quick that the jabs just aren’t landing effectively. All through this, Hayden never lets up on her pounding of the taller girl’s torso and just maintains this leather pressure to the bell. Hayden wins the round in a shutout, but she has left Nina weak-kneed and trembling as she returns to her stool.

R8: Nina not giving up, She somehow finds the energy to come off her stool quickly and greet a surprised Hayden with some quick shots over the gloves into her face. Hayden quickly recovers and uses her jab to take the energy out of Nina’s last gasp offensive with fresh leather into her face and wounded nose. This later punch shakes Nina badly she reels away. Hayden has some trouble cutting off the ring, but when she does she goes back to the body and this time she makes a direct hit on Nina’s solar plexus. The blow seems to freeze Nina in place and Hayden darts to the side to smash roundhouse right into Nina’s wide-open jaw. Nina’s head swivels around. She stumble forward a few steps and then sprawls face-forward to the canvas, arms stretched above her head, legs spread out in a reverse starfish. Hayden wastes no time getting to neutral corner. Nina trying to get up, gets her arms down and tries to push herself up, but her elbows give way and she back with her cheek on the canvas listening as the count reaches “…TEN! YOU’RE OUTTTTTT!!!!”

THE WINNER: HAYDEN PANETTIERE!

After: Hayden climbs the nearest turnbuckle and raises her arms over her head. Then she jumps down and races over to place the sole of her boot on Nina’s bottom—right on that golden lion in the red shield—and poses for the cameras with her arms over her head and then on her hips. Big satisfied grin on her face as Nina writhes and groans: “Get offa me!”

Hayden just smirks and grinds her boot into Nina’s bottom. Uh-oh, she went too far this time!

Shooting into the ring are Jenna Louise Coleman, Vanessa Hudgens and they are backed up by Lookout bantam Emily VanCamp! They brush pass the referee and seize Hayden, then try to heave her over the ropes into the Foxfire ringside seats! However Sarah Carter and Adelaide Kane with backup from Willa Holland, Rachel McAdams and Laura Vandervoort pour into the ring first and Hayden finds herself in a human tug of war. As they struggle, poor Nina is trying to get up and the struggling ladies fall over her landing in a tangle!

Just as Yvonne Strahovski is about to climb into the ring with Missy Peregyrm and Kate Upton, they are jumped from behind by Rachel Nichols, Mandy Moore and Jennifer Garner (who has ordered Mary Elizabeth Winstead to stay out of this we will later learn). The six women brawl at ringside even as the others in the ring are trying to entangle themselves.

Virginia Madsen and Beth Harnois are getting ready to join the fray but Julie Benz, Elisha Cuthbert and Michelle Tractenberg have circled the ring to attack them from the rear pulling the Foxfire ladies out of the ring and onto the arena floor. Suddenly Dani Fishel makes a belated entrance and smashes into this scrum creating a third area of action!

Just when it looks like total chaos will engulf the arena, Security men flood in and manage to regain control of the situation. The two teams, most of them in torn and tattered clothing are separated and then led from the arena. Exactly who bested who in the brawl is something that will be debated for some time to come, though everyone agrees at was a wild and thrilling scrap. Fines are handed out and stern letters of reprimand sent out from Front Office.

(Meanwhile the Streaming Video of the whole brawl with each group of brawlers caught on multiple cameras and then edited into a most entertaining ‘Holiday Special’ that brings a record-setting traffic to FCBA/SSB site. Rumor has it a special Blu-Ray.DVD is planned with commentary from the opposing sides. To be recorded separately we would hope!)

It is a shame that the post-fight has caused the fight itself to be somewhat overlooked. It is a good tough fight in which the smaller Hayden was able to overcome the bigger Nina by a decisive KO. Hayden seems a sure bet for a title shot (or two) in the new year. Meanwhile Nina is sure to be wanting payback after she finds herself down 1-2 against the hated Foxfire blonde. We can only hope Security measures will have been improved the next time these two clash
