Eiza Gonzalez versus Joss Stone
(Words: O & E / Results: Lookout!)

Before: Eiza coming in off a bad beating at the hands of Claire Sinclair, some questioning the wisdom of sending her into her PPV debut. Joss getting antsy, “I don’t NEED another warm-up. I’m ready for prime-time, and it’s time I moved past these projects. I’m going to the top, but this isn’t the way to get there.”

R1: Girls get into a sharpshooting duel of left jabs and right crosses. Joss coming off second best - Eiza able to dip inside the blonde's jab and pound her right hand through the middle, then dip outside and hook to mouth. By the final minute, Stone starts to stagger, getting rocked repeatedly as Gonzales gets luscious extension on murderous hooks and crosses. Eiza getting brawny late, reaching under the arms and piling the Brit into the ropes, twisting those hips into vicious hooks to the right side ribs and up into the breadbasket. Joss shaky, ashen faced as Gonzales chests up after the bell to force eye contact.

R2&3: Back to back workmanlike shutouts for Joss. She's keeping a pesky jab on Eiza, just to keep the latina defensive, then swiping hard right hands across the belly from potshotting distance, as Gonzales falls into a pattern of following Stone around, loading up and getting pre-empted. Joss stepping inside late in the third, bashing back Eiza's head with a clipping little right uppercut off the jab, putting the hook on top to put the brunette on her heels. Final minutes of both rounds see Stone working inside very comfortably on Gonzales; right under her chin, left loose across her belly, just snapping and licking hooks and right uppercuts to the body and head as Eiza sits drooping in the ropes.

R4: Joss still looking to use the ring, Eiza finally stalking, cutting off the ring, crouches, reaches in with the left and gets close by slamming the right hard to Stone's ribs just south of the breastline. Stone consistently hustled to the ropes and burdened, forced ear to ear with Gonzales, dipping her shoulders and licking up tight into Eiza's bronzed torso. Gonzales brawny, reaching one arm or the other under Stone's arms to shoulder her back, clubbing short harmful strokes to the ribs and tummy, finishing up with pancaking strokes across the jugs. Plenty of forearm used by Eiza in these bruising exchanges - ref reminding her to keep it clean.

R5: Joss rangy, jabbing off the hip, using her legs well to edge out of reach get back in, changing up distance on Eiza early. Slinging right cross pops her jaw as Gonzales is pulling back at the midway point--delayed reaction as she steps out to regroup, legs almost give way and she covers up hurt. Stone swooping in, long lashing hook bashing against the rightside hip and ribs, walloping overhand rights as Eiza crouches and rolls. Joss sweeping lefts and rights looking for the kill, but Gonzales has the rhythm, ducking in under them, staying compact, picking Stone up short left and right counter uppercuts in the tits while luring her forward. GOOD digging counter hook up into the sternum puts a blank look on Stone's face--she's frozen gut shot, a finishing left uppercut puts Joss wobbly butt at the bell. Both women rung up and frazzled as initiative continues to shift back and forth.

R6: O&E corner crew used to these last-woman-standing affairs, and as the fighters come out it shows as Eiza unleashes a relentless body attack on Joss. Stone pressured to the ropes, eyes still cloudy, tired arms and hands trying to wrap around Gonzales’ head and arms as brunette crowds in, shovels on the hurt. Eiza setting the pace, keeping her head & shoulders on Joss when she’s not punching, wants her blonde butt-in- ropes at all times. Short, clipping shots about the head and shoulders to get Stone thinking duck&cover, then all hard to the body, reefing rights and lefts really pounding off the meat. It’s just a constant, brutal beat down; Eiza smearing her body on Joss, discouraging the blonde, wearing her out. 3 minutes of sustained, heartless body punching leaves Stone open mouthed, grimacing on her stool through the sixth.

R7: Eiza continues pressing the pace, doubling up the hook the blonde’s side as Joss rolls with the punches, but the straight rights are banging away to chest and chin. Stone forced ropeside and desperate, bending into single shot counters in swinging arcs, lay over on one side or the other, but Gonzales stays busy, stays accurate. Sharp combination punching from Eiza, never letting Joss rest or get the timing. Stone forced to square up and brawl back - Gonzales shows her class by rolling in the pocket, taking shots on her shoulders and digging back with short, clubbing counters. Eiza coming off the body with the left hand in the final minute swivels Joss' head, leaves her drooping forward, arms outstretched. Gonzales clipping a right against Stone's chin, then digging the right quick beneath the breastline, finishing up a curling hook across the jaw as Joss wilts forward to the canvas! Stone collapsed on her face, all used up – KO7 for Eiza Gonzales in her PPV debut!

After: GOOD win for the O&E stunner. Kept her head in the game, soaked up two bad rounds, then worked her plan to get the W. “You can’t be afraid of getting into a slugfest. When you’re with O&E, you’ve got the best corner crews in the business, so you can afford to soak up the punches because you know you’ll come out of it better than her!”
