BEFORE: Summer Glau has fought just a couple of times this season first knocking Meghan Markle out in March and then stopping Eva Mendes in May. Despite being an elite bantamweight (just a single loss in the last seven bouts) the lack of frequent activity removed her from immediate contention for Minka Kelly-owned title, something the 34 year old brunette deeply regrets: "I like Minka's boxing style a lot allthough I don't like her as much as a person but it's a shame to see a veteran like her rising to the top of the pecking order when I know that I'm a better fighter than her and could easily be a valid contender for that crown. Beating Fonseca is just step one and allthough it's probably not good enough to catch Minka's attention I'll do everything it takes to become a factor in the division again!"

Meanwhile Lyndsy Fonseca seems more focused on the Charlotte Church rumours for next year rather than challenging for the bantamweight title: "Free agents don't have much chance to fight for the title outside of the welterweight. And apparently I'm not good enough to sign a contract anywhere in this league! Well, perhaps beating the crap out of Summer Glau will make some people think otherwise. Or shall I just roll Church over next month as well?"

Round 1:
Both girls are hungry for some action and the opening round more resembles a heated flyweight grudge contest than a regular bantamweight clash with Lyndsy hassling the older brunette over the top and drilling her mitts into her face but getting the same treatment in response and Summer's just that little too accurate in execution thumping Fonseca's lips into a swollen reality deep in the second minute which finally forces the younger actress back. That's an ill-advised move against the veteran who leaps into more leather frenzy and pounds Fonseca back to the ropes where she unloads a gut checking procedure to steal the round that was heading into a classic tie based on the effort shown from both women. Lyndsy knows that well and shrugs her head in disgust but there's a long way to go in this one.

Round 2:
Another leather bash leaves Lyndsy's guard more exposed of the two and despite her best efforts she just can outwork and outmuscle Summer in close range which sends her into retreat at the minute mark. Summer swarms all over her thanks to a superior footwork though and digs more shots to the body to further stall Lyndsy's movement and dumps her on the ropes with a piledriver jab that smacks the nose and makes the younger brunette gurgle in pain. The clinching efforts are blocked as Glau bumps into her cleavage and begins to pound the body more sagging the trapped opponent in the proccess. Minka Kelly would be proud of that drive and it's indeed a massive loss for the bantams that Summer just can't stay more active anymore as she routs Fonseca's body until the bell and leaves the fellow brunette breathing really heavily at the bell.

Round 3:
Lyndsy's superior reach finally shuts Summer off in mid distance and the increased leather frenzy tags the chin to wobble the older brunette a little too awkwardly for her liking which springs Fonseca into immediate action, she blasts through the otherwise bulletproof guard and rocks Glau's ponytail around her neck before driving with more ruthless jabbing to the breadbasket. Even the famed bendiness doesn't help Summer in this case as she loses her balance and stumbles back to the ropes where the younger brunette romps to the gut repeatedly and leaves the veteran gasping and trembling side to side until the bell. A much welcomed change for any free agency fans out there and Lyndsy's so pumped she even whacks Summer on the chin a couple of times after the bell to underline her utmost dominance in this round.

Round 4:
Summer recovers well to hassle the fellow brunette early in the fourth again but Lyndsy's aggression overwhelms the superior agility and results in a crunching hook that spins Glau to the side and allows more Latin fury to punish the older actress. Summer is dumped on her heels quickly as Fonseca turns up the close range heat and leaves the defence hanging, she clubs Glau's cheeks into a visible swelling and connects with the rack to throw the girl even further off balance. Summer needs time to recover but she doesn't apply the classic clinching respite and soaks up more overhand leather thereafter with Lyndsy thumping her in numbers and rallying back to even the contest after four. Summer's yelps are too hard to embrace for most of the audience and that's anything but a Minka Kelly-like show now; not that Fonseca minds at all as she staggers the hapless opponent deep in ropes and has to be hauled off by the ref again to prevent more post-bell antics. "Bytch, you're sooo done here!", Lyndsy spits out some abuse and Summer truly needs to recollect her thoughts during the interval.

Round 5:
Fonseca's convinced she has Glau rattled and jumps into another aggressive bash only to cut thin air thanks to the veteran's renowed bendiness trick... AND LOOK OUT BELOW... Summer rips a right hand straight at Lyndsy's jaw and lifts her off her feet in the proccess... that pulls the plug on all the Latin menace AND SENDS FONSECA CRASHING FLAT ON HER BACK... she rolls over to her left side but remains unresponsive to the count and Summer twerks some booty before shaking her glove in joy! KO5 Summer Glau!!!

AFTER: Epic one-punch knockout in the bantamweight division of all places but while a mumbling Lyndsy is helped onto her feet the smile couldn't get any bigger for Summer Glau who tells Erin Andrews: "Well, that's why I'm the respected veteran and she remains a free agent jobber! (laughs) OK, so perhaps she's got the right attitude and can win a fight or two but seriously, how stupid she was to hassle me like that? I lured her into a trap and smoked her with the biggest punch I landed this year! Sure, blasting Meghan Markle to bits was fun but that was a KO of the Night right here! Amanda Righetti and Bridget Regan would be proud of that shot! (...) Yeah, it still hurts that I'm not sitting at Minka Kelly's throne right now but I'm not done in this league just yet and if only I can book six fights per year instead of three everyone will stop calling me anonymous on the spot! Keep your fingers crossed! (...) I hear that Charlotte Church wants to fight me? Well, I can pound her chubby ass all the way back to Europe if she wants it so badly (giggles)".
