Cassidy Freeman (17-11-1, 13 KO) vs Erika Heynatz (0-1)
Lioness Club of America vs Wildetime Boxing
Results: Lookout! Boxing / Story: Vassago

BEFORE: While Cassidy Freeman didn't make as much noise in 2015 as she did last year she still wants to end the campaign on a high and targets BBU welterweight legend Erika Heynatz who almost went the distance with Charlize Theron on her American debut back in February. The Australian actress is no spring chicken at 39 but everyone must be aware of her towering 5'11" presence even when you consider Freeman knocked out the six footer Robyn Lawley back in September which might be the last defeat for the plus size model in the foreseeable future. If Kesha was still hoovering around 130+ lbs one could have expected the former champion going after another significantly taller opponent as well.

Cassidy Freeman wears a red basque top, black hotpants and red gloves. Carrot-like hair tied in a bun at the back of her head. Erika Heynatz wears a black basque top, white hotpants and golden gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Both women mostly see each other out in the opening round lacking the uptempo approach which is perhaps understandable in Heynatz's case given her experience handicap on this side of the Atlantic but Freeman thanks to her lioness connection knows all about the blonde's impressive resume if the Theron fight wasn't enough to convince most of the FCBA naysayers. Lots of single punches and a sluggish back & forth circling renders this round completely forgettable.

Round 2:
Erika shows more intentions to stuck it upstairs and jumps into a quick one-two combo that are repeated down the stretch but Cassidy's high guard stays in tact and the former champion refuses to get carried away in immediate response. Subsequently Heynatz ups her tempo even further but can't find the clean shots and skims off the gloves before readjusting her plan and trying to close the redhead down with some spiking hooks on the ribcage. Cassidy fends her off and slams through with a piercing uppercut that sends the blonde back and the second round also concludes with defensive circles and not much going on there.

Round 3:
Freeman is known for her one punch destruction ability and she finally decides to move forward throwing a cascade of leather at the blonde's head to send her for a hectic merry-go-round the canvas and the fight slowly begins to improve with a surprising counterpunch attack stalling the redhead's progress in the second minute. Both women  clash in close range and Erika comes on top of that exchange slicing the younger opponent's ribcage and bumping her off towards the ropes in a power display move. She misses the key follow up upstairs though as Cassidy bends away from her strikes and thumps a right cross on the nose to reel Heynatz back to center of the ring whch leads to another duck & weave show in the final minute.

Round 4:
Again, both women are absolutely sticking to their seeing out proccess and settle for single striking from behind the guard which basically can go on forever and one has to wonder if their patience will embrace the entire ten round distance. It's anyone's guess but these are two veterans and Erika duly accepts the mediocre tempo which allows her to find her groove if only she comitted to her attacks a little more. There's nothing to throw Freeman off her stance though and when a lenghty clinch dominates the final minute most of the audience loses their temper long before any of the fighters actually do. This is one for the purists!

Round 5:
Heynatz finds a quick uppercut on the chin to rattle Freeman off her sweet spot and suddenly a close range tangle has the redhead rocking under the Australian leather; Erika leaps with more uppercuts on the slumping chin and it's clear the 10 times BBU champion has caught the American napping moving forward with some heavy leather to smack the lioness girl back to the ropes. Cassidy almost lost her footing while trying to adjust to the new tactics from her opponent and Erika clubs her on the temples from both side and is unlucky to get herself clinched on the ropes as Freeman gurgles in anger and shoves the older actress back against the turnbuckle to see out the aggressive drill. Heynatz wants to stuck some leather on the liver area but loses the close range connection and Freeman blasts her across the lips right at the bell which is probably too late to salvage the contest anyway.

Round 6:
No more ducking & weaving as both women jump into a leather frenzy that would make the flyweights proud; that's a dangerous tactics in the 130 plus camp but Erika set the tone for a rallying charge in the fifth and now finds herself under a leather barrage with Cassidy thumping her chest before drilling the jaw with an uppercut combo. The redhead is much faster in execution and one must wonder how much she was holding back earlier; that makes little difference to Heynatz who gets pushed butt-in-ropes with a piercing cascade of jabs and then wobbles to the side when Freeman harpoons her on around the liver area and almost lands a knee to the crotch so much she shoves the blonde into the ropes to freeze her out completely. Heynatz fails to stretch her elbows and gets bumped jug-to-jug as well before Cassidy thumps her on the navel and finally takes a step back to wrench her on the left eye with a big hook that makes the Aussie cougar scream. There's more to come from the American but the clock expires to halt her charge and she just manages to drop a jug bomb mili seconds after the bell to drop Erika's head against her shoulder as the ref barges in to seperate the two veterans.

Round 7:
Heynatz thinks she has enough to tame another attack but Cassidy springs into close range to punish the cleavage before spiking the liver area to back the blonde into the corner again. Erika doesn't have the quick moves to stay out of danger and raw power was always the reason why she dominated BBU; she's forced into single shots from the back foot but those are not sufficient enough to tame the former welterweight of the year. Freeman blasts a left/right cross on the mouth striding into Erika's face and flicks a left hand on the liver to bend the aching opponent down. Heynatz seeks a clinch but bumps off the redhead shoulder and before she can raise her arms again SHE GETS SMOKED by a vivcious hook to the ear and slumps forward with her arms sliding by the wayside... Freeman delivers a right cross literally jumping from one leg to put as much weight behind it as she can... AND SHE CHOPS THE BLONDE DOWN as Erika's jaw takes that punch with full force and there's no way back when Cassidy lands those kind of haymakers... Heynatz jack-knives to her face at the redhead's feet and remains on all fours until the referee counts her out moments later... KO7 Cassidy Freeman!!!

AFTER: Another classic Freeman win where she hangs around on the back foot for ages before striking a killer blow in a matter of one-two rounds at most. We've seen this so often before and it rarely backfires on the redhead to make the fitness management one of her most underrated assets. But it's easy to develop that tactics when you've got one of the biggest punches in the entire division which was already evident in the Robyn Lawley fight. Perhaps Bridget Regan is THE hardest punching girl in the FCBA universe but Freeman is right there in the mix as well.

Things don't look so bright for Erika on this side of the Atlantic but she's determined to improve her stock especially if Catherine Bell or Paula Patton agree to fight her sometime next year. Several fighters with far inferior BBU resume have scored a FCBA win already so all hope is not lost for the lanky veteran.

Final result: Cassidy Freeman def. Erika Heynatz KO7.
