TESS VALMORE

Once again I present our review of the PPV which, of course, contains our usual cheap shots and catty remarks

SCABBIA/SOLO Before I begin the review of this bout, I have to ask, why would anyone visit the Martin Guitar Factory in Bethlehem when they could visit the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville. Because its there I guess. Scabbia took the first two rounds, but by the end of round four the fight was even. In the fifth a Solo uppercut set up a barrage of blows that left Scabbia out on the canvas

PALLET/N. ANDERSON I have to admit I don’t know who either of these two are other than Pallet is from the UK and Anderson has had a couple of unimpressive bouts. This was a fight the proves “it ain't over until its over” Anderson had big lead going into the sixth when Pallet caught her with a right uppercut and a few more uppercuts later Anderson was counted out. Anderson shouldn’t quite her day job

HANRATTY/D. CAMPBELL Campbell looking for someone she could beat, found her victim in Hanratty. Campbell took three of the first four rounds before ending the bout in the fifth with a hard right. I was amused by Campbell comments post fight that “Hanratty’s got some talent” What to you expect her to say, “she’s a total loser”?

COOK/R STEVENS Cook held a slight lead after decking Stevens in the fourth. The fifth wasn’t much better for Stevens, but she survived. She didn’t survive the sixth as Cook trapped her against the ropes and punched her into dreamland

KENDRICK/WATSON This was a good fight. We had Watson with the lead going into the seventh when Cook started landing big punches. Watson survived by being saved by the bell. The bell wouldn’t help Watson in the eighth as Kendrick unloaded on her until she couldn’t handle any more and went down for the count

CHIRIQUI/EVIGAN Another good fight with lots of punching. We had the fight even at the end of eight. In the ninth, a left to the chest and a right to the nose put Chiriqui on the canvas for the count,

DOBREV/PANETTIERE One of the prime match-ups of the night. It looked like it was going to be a rout as Dobrev took four of the first five round including decking Hayden in the third. The tone of the bout changed in the sixth, as Hayden went on a tear and put Dobrev on the canvas. Panettiere continued the assault in the seventh and ended the bout in the eighth with a round house right.

CHABERT/K. BELL The bout was even at the end of four. Bell took the lead in the fifth and then salted away a win with a left/right to the chest and a right uppercut to the chin that left Chabert out on the canvas for the count

PORTMAN/HUDGENS Portman was having a good night at least until the seventh round. She had won four of the first six rounds. In the seventh, Hudgens trapped Portman in a corner and unloaded. Portman survived, however by the beginning of the eighth hadn’t recovered from the damage done in the seventh. Portman went down early in the eighth. She managed to get o her feet only to be punched into a helpless state and the fight was stopped

MARKLE/BANKS This was a rather quick fight. After taking two of the first three rounds, Markle pounded Banks into the ropes and ended Bank’s night with a left hook

HOLLAND/PELTZ Somebody remind me who Peltz is. Forget it, Don’t bother. She did manage to win two rounds before being flattened by uppercuts in the sixth, but winning a couple of rounds against Holland in no big deal

DECESARE/CHURCH DeCesare is a good fighter, but inactivity seems to have not been a blessing for her. She lost her third straight, while Church won her third straight, DeCesare had the lead at the end of four, however Church turned the bout around in the fifth and DeCesare was lucky to survive a Church tornado of punches. In the sixth, Church claimed the win with a left to the ear that left DeCesare out on her face

FONSECA/GLAU The bout was even at the end of four, but had swung in Fonseca’s favor in the fourth as she had Glau staggering round the ring. The confident Fonseca got careless in the fifth She walked into a Glau right and went from probable winner to definite loser in a heartbeat. Glau by a KO

MAFFIA/OLSEN I note management is claiming Olsen’s victory was over a “good veteran” Maffia had never won an FCBA fight which is why she was chosen as Olsen’sopponent. Maffia last less than ten minutes before being counted out. Maffia won only the first round

RIDLEY/D. JOHNSON I am a little disappointed in Johnson. I though she would win her bout against Ridley who is getting a big push. Johnson actually had the lead at the end of six. In the seventh, Ridley floored Johnson with a right to the chin. Johnson made it to her feet but was no longer competitive and the fight was stopped
.
AGUILERA/C.COLE Cole had the lead in the bout at the end of five although Aguilera managed to win the fifth. In the sixth, Cole simply punched Aguilera helpless before ending the bout with a right to the nose that put Aguilera down for the count. We hate to tell management this, but beating Aguilera is no big deal

BUSH/J. L. COLEMAN JMD We were as usual down in the bar

ROBBIE/SCHERZINGER The bout was even at four and even at six. In the seventh, Robbie went on a body attack and then switched to a straight right to the chin that ended the fight with Nicole being counted out

VANCAMP/DORMER It was one of those bouts that was even at the end of four and even at the end of six In the seventh VanCamp landed a huge right cross to Dormers chin that left Dormer in dreamland as the count passed ten

BENNET/BENOIST The bout was even at four. Benoist took the lead by decking Bennet in the fifth and she also took he sixth. Bennet closed the lead by decking Benoist in the seventh, Bennet evened the fight up in the eighth. Benoist went back into the lead in the ninth only to have Bennet deck her in the tenth. That second knockdown was enough to give Bennet the decision

GONZALES/J. STONE I though Stone would win this fight. She didn’t come close. Gonzales won six of the seven rounds that the fight lasted, finishing Stone with a hook the jaw in the seventh.

PERRY/RYAN Yes I said Perry would win by a KO and the reason I said that is Ryan is over the hill. Perry took five of the six rounds that the fight lasted. In the sixth, Perry beat Ryan like a drum until Ryan went down for the count. 0-t for the Academy over the hill fighters for the night

RIHANNA/THERON I congratulate Miss Ginny for achieving her goal of thrusting another loss on the pitiful remains of a great fighter She managed to reduce her winning percentage to 70.40 as planned . The seventh round wasn’t a Rihanna win by a KO, it was an execution. Theron being knocked out cold wasn’t enough for her. A disgraceful humiliation followed that was joined in by couple of other fighters. I was terribly disappointed to see Perry engaged in it. 0-2 for the Academy over the hill fighters.

WINSTEAD/DAWSON One of those fights that was tied at the end of two, four, six and eight. Winstead took the ninth and then salted away the decision by winning the tenth. A good bout

REGAN/GOVICH The fight was even and two and even at four. In the fourth, Regan hammered Govich’s body. Govich never really recovered. Regan continued to hammer away at Govich in the fifth It was all too much for Govich as Regan went headhunting in the sixth and Govich went down and out, I know some are not going to like it, but are we seeing a return to the Righetti-Regan days?

RIGHETTI/BIEL This was a great fight and up to this point, the fight of the night. Brutal hard punching The fact the fight was even at two four and six really doesn’t tell the story of an old fashioned brawl The punching went Righetti way in the seventh and when the punching goes Righetti way, her opponent is not going to finish the fight. Biel put up a great fight but in the end she was counted out

FREEMAN/HEYNATZ Pre-fight comments pointed out that Heynatz “almost went the distance with Theron” That’s some kind of recommendation? If so, it didn’t impress Freeman who dominated the bout before finishing off Heynatz with a right cross in the seventh, A totally expected result

KEEGAN/RICCI JMD. Back down in the bar

UPTON/LIVELY JMDD Still down in the bar. If there is another JMD fight I might have to call Uber to get home

KUNIS/GOMEZ For the flyweight title. A fine bout. It was even at four. Kunis took the lead in the fifth by decking Gomez. Gomez came back in the sixth to put Kunis on the canvas. It was even at the end of eight and anyone’s fight. In the ninth, It was an uppercut to the chin that ended the bout. Kunis was the pitcher and Gomez the catcher. Kunis retains her title

BELLISARIO/M. KELLY For the bantam title and an another good fight. Bellisario was making a joke of the bout taking four of the first five rounds Kelly halted the Bellisario rampage in the sixth and decked her in the seventh. The eighth was sensational. Bellisario floored Kelly early in the round. A hurt Kelly came back to batter Bellisario and then drop her for good with a left right combination; Kelly retains the bantam crown

YUSTMAN/J ALEXANDER I really didn’t think this was going to be much of a challenge for Odette. For a while it looked like I was right as Yustman took five of the first six including a fourth round knockdown. Alexander launched a comeback in the seventh flooring Yustman and winning rounds eight, nine and ten to gain a draw. The fight went to extra rounds. In the eleventh, Yustman sent Alexander down to the canvas. Alexander got to her feet but Yustman wisely played it safe and stayed away from Alexander to get the decision and retain her title
