With de-facto forced retirement on the line, the days leading up to the first fights were more tense than usual. Adding to the issue was that the uncertain nature of the punishment. Punchaholics Anonymous had been anything but predictable when setting up the event. Would the ban for the loser be meaningfully enforced? Would the winner receive credit? The fighters themselves were silent on these issues even as the press and public dived into the controversy, but it could not have escaped their notice.

"Obviously I've got a case of the nerves making my grand entrance not just at my age, but at an event designed to kick somebody out for good. It's rough, but I kind of hope the experience is going to make a fighter out of me once I survive it." Thorne went on to describe Dash as "definitely someone I can beat, but I don't feel comfortable enough to get lazy."

Dash expressed more optimism. "I don't plan to spend many rounds finishing this one," said the actress simply. "My main worry right now is deciding who to root for in the other match."

Event staff, better prepared than last time, were largely able to stamp out any attempts the audience made to disrupt the show. Flying debris was kept to a minimum, and the crowd remained contained. The sight of Rose McGowan as an overdressed referee prancing about in the steel cage seemed to have a calming effect as well, as the audience showed above average patience during the build up. Thorne made her entrance in white athletic wear, smiling and waving, appearing to be past her self reported nerves. Ushered into the cage by a beaming McGowan, Thorne received a brief introduction before Dash's arrival. In blue trunks and sports bra, the actress received much more cheers and boos than Thorne, likely due to her remarks. Thorne, still looking serene, watched McGowan parade Dash around the ring before the final preparations.

Round 1:
As Dash dug in for a lengthy fight, Thorne pounced, much to her rival's surprise. Mixed in with the rookie's grab bag of quick punches was a solid left hook that cause Dash to flinch, possibly more from the shock of seeing Thorne show such aggression after Dash's dismissive prediction. The taller actress struggled under Thorne's intense assault, failing to drive her back continuously during the opening. After some time, Dash earned a breather with several body blows up close, pushing Thorne back and obviously causing her some pain, but as the round progressed the relative veteran was unable to do much more than trade punches evenly. During the break, Dash endured the crowd's taunts as they did their best to remind the bruised actress of her confident prediction. Thorne looked on eagerly.

Round 2:
As Thorne charged at Dash in the opening, Dash frowned and met her with equal intensity. Thorne was not discouraged by the challenge, but she was discouraged after a fierce battle culminating in Dash's right hand slipping through her guard, striking her in the nose as she leaned forward to go on the attack herself. Interrupted and left helpless in mid swing, Thorne desperately tried to fend Dash off, only to allow the woman to slip around her attack, get in close, and pummel her stomach. Wincing, Throne clinched until McGowan broke them up, pouting and shaking a finger at Thorne in dramatic, easily visible disapproval. Now starting from an even position, Dash was able to prod Thorne consistently, leaving her obviously worn down at the Bell.

Round 3:
Dash was quite thoroughly prepared for an all out attack in the opening the third time around. Though she had not escaped the first two rounds unscathed, it was obvious that Thorne had taken worse. While she still regularly tagged Dash with solid swings at a distance, she was working harder to do so, while Dash was spending less energy in drawing things out. Simple weight of fire favored Thorne at the moment, though it was not clear how long she could keep the performance up.

Round 4:
Disaster struck for Thorne early in the fourth round as she overcommitted to a wild swing, leaving herself wide open. Dash happily took the windfall, smashing her right fist against Thorne's jaw with enough force to send her head flying to the side, face distorted. Thorne desperately counterattacked, but with Dash able to shut her down when she was fresher, the rookie did little but wear herself out and present Dash with more targets. Dash was able to deliver a savage beating from start to finish, but at the Bell Thorne was still standing, even if she had to lean on the ropes to reach her stool. No taunts from the crowd for Dash in the break, as she seemed poised to deliver on her promise.

Round 5:
Thorne returned to the fight upright, but unable to compete with the well rested Dash, who took on the role of the early attacker happily. Weaving past a desperate all or nothing haymaker from her opponent, Dash punished Thorne's body with rising hooks. Thorne resisted, attempting to gain some space, but unable to escape or strike back as Dash dished out the damage. After a minute of Thorns stubbornly refusing to quit, Dash threw an uppercut catching her chin perfectly. Thorne cried out and collapsed on her hands and knees, teary eyed. Conscious, but not able to move a muscle after the punishment she had absorbed, she waited out the count -- KO5 Dash.

McGowan took Dash's arm and led her about for her victory lap as Thorne did her best to recover, crawling halfway to the exit and pulling herself upright, only to find it locked when she tried to pull it open. Dash, smirking, quickly grabbed her shoulder from behind and spun her around, despite McGowan's exaggerated but unenforced protests. Despite Thorne raising a hand and opening her mouth to object, Dash showed no mercy, striking her in the face once without hesitation. Thorne crumpled immediately, sitting down with a thump to sleep off the effects of the fight in the corner, head tilted sideways and mouth agape.

"I figured out who I'm rooting for in the next fight," commented Dash to McGowan as Thorne's seconds unsuccessfully attempted to convince the referee to open the door. McGowan, entranced by the winner, could not be distracted. "If Drew wins, Fairuza is on track to getting banned, and if she loses to Sleeping Beauty here I could even get to throw the punch that finishes her!"
