BOXING AFTER DARK

Before: Looks like a keep-busy bout for Mish on paper, but Amy Jo can box, Amy Jo's a scrapper and she loves to disappoint favoured blondes in these sorts of situations. Girls need opposite things in this fight: Mish needs to hound Amy to the ropes, AJJ needs to keep it in the center of the ring and work her angles. Mish in red push up and white bikini bottoms, AJJ in pink and black diving bikini, ponytail.

During R1: Mish has her way, almost routinely hooking Amy to the ropes, then squaring up to work her foe's taut little ribcage and belly with thudding, workmanlike shots. Johnson huddled up defensively, staying composed - she blocks a lot of William's leather on her elbows, turns her torso to blunt shots, but it's a solid shutout for Michelle.

R2: Amy returns the favour. Stepping crisply midring - Johnson pesters Mish with the flicking jab, moving left or right, turning the blonde with nifty sidesteps. Williams following, not cutting off the ring and late in the round pays the price: Johnson dipping and hooking out of her crouch catches Mish with a beautifully timed bite between the eyes that has the blonde stepping funky at the bell - shutout AJJ.

R3: Amy Jo boxes a sweet first minute, playing matador to Mish's bull, but the blonde gets her head on brunette's chest, forces Johnson to trade throughout the latter two minutes. Heavier hands give Williams the round - Johnson laying in cheek to cheek, starts to rouge up around the waist and lower ribcage from the methodical pounding.

R4: Mish with her hardest hooks of the fight thus far, really bringing them up and under AJJ's ribcage with thudding authority - little brunette is ashen faced as she is forced to a seat on the ropes. Mish in her element - scrubbing her forehead hard across AJJ's upperchest and mouth, bringing sidearm lefts and rights into the waist - Johnson open mouthed, gloves at Mish's ears trying to control the blonde's head, but giving up the body. Another tough shutout Williams as she patiently plows brunette midriff through 4.

R5,6: More Mish Williams consistent, systematic attack. Johnson can't keep her back off the ropes, and those chocolaty-brown eyes are starting to dim under the discouraging beating Williams is dishing. Johnson with her hands up around Mish's ears, pulling the blonde's head down, trying to shove her to one side to spin out, but very little punching back from Johnson. For her part, Mish isn't hitting her hardest - she's really concentrating on positioning, keeping her foe pinned on the ropes, taking a little off the fastball to avoid getting off balance - measured attack is giving Mish field position, but not really putting Johnson away.

R7: Amy retreating to the ropes, starts to bend side to side more, looking to slash counters in between Mish's shots and midway through, Johnson bites a gorgeous hook off William's face that has the blonde momentarily wobbly butt. Mish has to back off - Amy Jo shoulders her way off the ropes, reaching down into William's right side with digging hooks, clouting Mish's chin with chopping right hands.

R8: Amy Jo has her respect this round - Williams hurt last round doesn't barge in and the brunette picks her apart midring. Johnson hooking off the jab and falling off to her left side to keep Williams turning - Mish with her gloves up around her ears, moving her head gets poked for points this round.

R9: Mish more aggressive this round, taking the hook off her jaw to sink her own left hand into Amy's ribs. Johnson beaten in stiff trade to the ropes - Williams in control with her head on chest, palms on shoulders, shoving and slugging with steady pace. Amy's worst round defensively - she's starting to get clocked on the chin as she leans drowsily forward, and she's given up on protecting her midriff altogether.

R10: Amy Jo Johnson draws applause with a fiesty series of left hands, working in a semi circle around Mish as she digs the hook in on the side, curls it up into the breasts and bangs it off Mish's forehead as the blonde can only turn and take. Nice left-right shimmying sets up potshotting lead rights and biting hooks along William's eyebrows - blonde can't get square to punch as brunette stays loose, slings punches and gets out of dodge. Goes as a shutout 10th for Johnson - comes back a close, hard-working UD10 Williams.

After: Respectful hug in the aftermath - glistening beauties stand side by side, chatting animatedly after a good back and forth struggle saw both have good moments. Responding to criticism for not knocking Amy out, Mish says, "Amy wants you to overswing - she wants you to try and knock her out so she can counterpunch. We worked on cutting off the ring and making contact, just touching her up and I'm very happy with the results. If you ask Amy, I'm sure she'd tell you she'd rather be stopped early than take the consistent pounding all night long like I gave her. Any boxer would."
