BOXING AFTER DARK

Before: Tune up dime for Mish, but don't think Syren's letting anyone coast following De Rossi's treachery against Bell. "I'll be taking liberties with Rose," says a confident Williams, "but yeah, I've been worked hard in camp for this fight. I've got a bunch of new weapons I can't wait to use and McGowan gives us that opportunity to experiment a little." Mish in elegant black bikini, Rose in red crochet bikini, low ponytail.

During R1: Williams razor sharp early, stepping to Rose with beautiful head movement - McGowan pushing out that slow right - Mish slips in underneath, digs a heavy left hand into the ribs. Rose flails with a panicky left - Mish slips low to the other side, depositing her right hand in Rose's ribs. Whistling body shots enough to send McGowan staggering back on her heels throughout the stanza. Also of note: Mish utilizing a stamping right to the head and body, really crunching into Rose and surprising McGowan who had been expecting more of the hook.

R2: Mish gets right hand happy - like a girl with a new toy, she's walking Rose down and looking for spots to get off rather than working. McGowan flailing and pushing out punches, but she's busy, painting Mish's face as the blonde wades straight in - where's that head movement all of a sudden. Williams unhurt, but drops the round - gets some basic reminders from Syren in the corner.

R3: Mish loading up the right hand, taking punches - Syren screaming her head off all during the round in frustration. Rose with scrambling footwork, still manages to get Mish to chase, scrubbing away on the blonde with pushing and scraping lefts and rights - Williams backed up from the volume more than the force of these blows. McGowan coming forward and late in the round, drives in with her head hard enough to buckle William's legs. Mish shakes it off, enraged, and responds with a barrage of lefts and rights to the crotch! Rose turning away and sinking to a new as the ref jumps in - Williams fuming, gets a warning as McGowan gets several minutes to collect herself. Working woman's justice for Mish as she paces angrilly in a neutral corner, then finishes the round by hounding a shaken McGowan around the ring.

R4: Mish finally responds to a Syren tirade - the side to side head movement is back - McGowan with her butt out, pushing out frightened arm punches is repeatedly victimized by the slip-and-bash body attack. From the midpoint on, Williams crowds McGowan at the ropes and blonde unveils another twist - she reaches past the brunette to grip the rope with her left hand, using her right shoulder to press and nudge, getting off with cudgelling short right hands to the body and head. Rose breaking down badly under the bludgeoning assault - trapped, battered, despite the ref's consistent slapping of Mish's anchor hand away from the strand. Shutout Williams.

R5: Mish never better. Midring she's slicing in on Rose, slipping low to either side and welting away underneath the brunette's tired swings as McGowan crumbles. At the ropes, Mish is irresistable, holding the rope with her left hand, hemming Rose in and beating her senseless. When she's not grinding on Rose at the ropes, Williams is getting off in combination, really going to the waist with thudding authority, then coming upstairs with a shattering right hand that's starting to get good head-bobble out of McGowan. Rose's own punches are scoring, but doing nothing - it's a determined blonde beating the bejesus out of a sagging brunette through 5.

R6: Shutout Mish Williams. Mish opens by almost decapitating Rose midring with a step-in right cross, jerking the brunette to the right and sending her clattering across the ring. Mish comes inside smart, always slipping and bobbing - jamming her fists into Rose's bruised body with heartless fury. Steady beat down along the ropes - Mish stepping with her girl, using the shoulders and elbows to nudge Rose back, then digging in with both fists.

R7: Mish stamping that overhand right to Rose's breadbasket, has the brunette sickened midring - crisp follow up left hook leaves McGowan staring and a plowing right to the chops sends the brunette scooting to her buttocks! Sensational punching from Mish - she's coming forward, getting underneath, and hammering home the leather with shattering force. Rose takes another 3 minutes of hardhearted abuse - gamely shakes off the ringside physician at the break.

R8: Mish with a big grin, working in and out, showing terrific mobility in this fight. Beating Rose's stomach and flanks with thudding left/rights - Mish finally steps in with a gut wrenching left to the liver, doubles it up into a chinshot uppercut, drops the back foot, blinds Rose with a jab and NAILS a picturesque right cross to beat the brunette to the punch. Rose's right hand sails over Mish's shoulder as the blonde ducks in - brunette's legs give way as she crumples to a seat at the ropes. Devastated look of shock on McGowan's face as she is counted out in a puddle. KO8 Mish Williams.

After: Mish fresh and sweaty in victory - white towel around her shoulders - performance reminds everyone of Williams' status as a top contender in this division. "This isn't just a three-way dance," boasts Mish in post fight, referring to the Liu, Dushku, Pressly triangle, "I've been rounding out my game, adding the right hand, counterpunching. Syren has this thing where, when I start in a girl's body, I'm a busier, sharper fighter - I went head hunting early on and Rose got brave, but I made the adjustment. I'm tired of being thought of as 'little Dani' - nothing against my girl D, but I think I'm more versatile than she is and I showed that tonight. I'm building the skills that will stop Liu and Pressly, and beat Dushku down over the distance. All I need is the right opportunities, and champions that want to fight the best competition available."
