"It's completely unfair," said Christina Hendricks. "I give Cat Bell exactly what she asked for when she, ahem, decided to increase the stakes on me mid fight, and the hammer comes down. Sophie Howard does not only that but actually kidnaps her, and doesn't even get a slap on the wrist, much less, you know, jail." She frowned, pausing to compose herself. "So she shot to the top of the list of people I'd like to punch in the face. Someone has to occupy the unlucky spot!"

Sophie Howard was looking forward to fight night with just as much enthusiasm. "When I got the call from Christina I accepted on the spot. Why wouldn't I? The two best racks in the league, together at last! But then I read the... lack of fine print. Can you believe that this woman has the nerve to challenge me to a match by standard rules? This is a match made for JMDD! What's done is done, but I am going to make her regret her mistake."

The lead up to the fight continued just as unpleasantly; Hendricks characterized Howard as a classless mess and promised to deliver a beating that would teach her to behave, while Howard continually accused Hendricks of being afraid to risk her chest, calling her "pampered" and unsubtly goading her into a last minute rules adjustment. To her disappointment, and likely many others, the fight proceeded as planned.

When the date finally arrived, both fighters had cooled down enough to be civil during the setup. Hendricks, in yellow trunks and sports bra, pointedly under reacted to Howard's entrance in blue athletic wear, in which the model prominently displayed two of the reasons she believed the fight should have been organized differently.

Round 1:
Howard applied pressure early on, only to be cut off by strong resistance from her rival. Hendricks refused to give ground or offer any opportunities, and soon Howard was forced to slow the pace. The round played out in equilibrium, with occasional bursts of action, favoring Hendricks. The curvy redhead was able to force errors and land the odd blow, though Howard managed to avoid falling behind with great effort.

Round 2:
Howard went after Hendricks hard again in the second round, and again Hendricks met her head on. The ensuing melee in the center of the ring, however, did not play out predictably. One minute, Hendricks seemed in control, and the next, Howard had outmaneuvered her and landed a solid right cross. Soon, the surprised redhead was on the ropes, unsuccessfully trying to cover her midsection as Howard hammered her. A clinch and a break saved Hendricks from disaster, but with her opponent in need of a breather, Howard had relatively free reign for the moment.

Round 3:
Looking much more dangerous after her break, Hendricks was quick to attempt a recovery. While she succeeded in making Howard sweat, the model held up under the pressure despite a few painful moments. As the round progressed, Howard went from holding her own to driving Hendricks off, and though the redhead put out numerous speed bumps, she could not keep Howard under control.

Round 4:
With a close fight on their hands, it was obvious in the third round that both women were trying to break the stalemate. Late in the round, it became clear that neither would. However, Hendricks had stayed cool and slipped through straight punches while facing strong opposition.

Round 5:
Hendricks continued to take it slowly and control her rival in the fifth. However, Howard seemed to have gained enough practice dealing with this from the last round. The brunette was able to strike back unhindered at key moments, keeping up for the remainder whe Hendricks offered no opportunities. While Hendricks seemed to hold up under Howard's offense, the redhead left the round considerably more swollen.

Round 6:
Howard's slow accumulation of momentum continued into the sixth round, as she came out of her corner to immediately strike Hendricks in the nose, escaping unscathed in the ensuing melee. However, when she moved in for a repeat performance, Hendricks cut her off, interrupting her swing with a solid hit and stunning her with a right hook to the jaw. Howard was pushed back with Hendricks in pursuit, able to rally only with great effort. Shaken, Howard's response when Hendricks continued to push was slowed, and Hendricks exploited her rival's moment of weakness fully, mercilessly battering the struggling brunette.

Round 7:
In the seventh round, Hendricks took a moderate pace against Howard, who in turn attacked the redheaded actress fiercely. Hendricks steadily gained ground, punishing Howard's inevitable missteps with quick strikes before fading back into her careful routine. Near the midpoint, Hendricks made her move, unexpectedly parrying one of Howard's close range attacks and leaning in for a hook to the curvy brunette's body. The blow clearly carried Hendricks'weight behind it, as the collision stopped Howard's forward motion short. The mixture of surprise and pain on the brunette's face was quickly cut short as Hendricks' follow up struck the side of her head, sending her swooning to the mat, where she landed in a disorganized pile of limbs and rolled into a starfish position, unresponsive. Hendricks, already celebrating the win, did not see Howard blink and grimace, struggling to a sitting position supported unsteadily by her hands. Hendricks' optimism was justified when Howard finished the count still seated, and the announcement was made -- KO7 Hendricks.

Event staff quickly separated the two fighters, given the two women's feelings towards each other. Hendricks stood just barely on her side of the imaginary line, smugly beckoning Howard to join her as the dazed model was escorted to safety.

"This was an important win, not for me personally, but for decent behavior in the FCBA," commented Hendricks the following day. "With Cat Bell still missing, it's important that we stand with her and hold those responsible for her disappearance accountable by personally punching their lights out one by one. Cat Bell and I might not have always agreed on all issues, but she in no way deserves the treatment I can only assume she is getting." Hendricks went on to promise to continue the investigation into Bell's disappearance, and named several women that she intended to fight for their supposed involvement.

Howard, after laying low for a period, stated very firmly that Hendricks would not have won under JMDD rules, and accused the actress of fearing her for refusing a match under those terms.
