BBU "HOLLYOAKS SPECIAL" ROUND ROBIN - WEEK 1

(Garnet Gunners UK vs Foxfire Atlantic Boxing)

BEFORE: Many experts think these two girls are destined to finish in the bottom places of the Hollyoaks Tournament so it's essential for one of them to score that much needed victory and potentially upset the odds. Claire Cooper looks to be in slightly better situation after her quick TKO3 triumph over Sarah Jayne Dunn at the Boxing Day PPV last month but Jodi Albert's current form remains a great mystery. The Foxfire Altanic based brunette hasn't graced the ring since August 2013 and even if she's the more skilled fighter there's no way to prove that right now given her lenghty absence.

Claire Cooper wears a crimson bikini set and silver gloves. Long black hair tied in a curly ponytail. Jodi Albert wears a black bikini set and red gloves. Long brown hair straight, tucked behind the ears. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Claire realizes that her opponent is covered in rust so she wants to make the most out of a feisty start and jabs between the arms to connect with Jodi's breasts before clipping her jaw with a measured cross hook. Albert throws several misplaced punches from the back foot and struggles to find her range in the opening round but she avoids getting pounded back to the ropes and improves her guard down the stretch leaving Cooper to bounce off her forearms in visible frustration. A late clinch gives the Foxfire brunette more time to settle in and that's not what Claire had in mind; she's forced to wrestle with her foe around the ropes and almost goes down on her knees when Jodi actually shows some core strenght and shoves her back at the bell.

Round 2:
Another feisty start from Claire but she's even more lacklustre in execution than in the opening round as Jodi works some quick feet to stay out of her striking range during a hectic pursuit. Cooper swings over the top but just can't quite land her punches and is fortunate enough Albert lacks the aggression to counter her on the fly, still trying to adjust her tactics against the menacing opponent. Duck & weave show from Jodi leads to some whistles from the Cardiff Arena audience but Cooper fails to punish her lethargic offence and bounces off the guard in the final minute again to land in another clinching struggle and Albert just shoves her onto the turnbuckle before blasting a nasty jab on the liver area that makes the older brunette squeal in pain at the bell.

Round 3:
Jodi's much faster on her feet and that's the difference between the Sarah Jayne Dunn rout and tonight's struggle for Claire. Another initial jabbing approach finds the bulletproof guard on top of that and while Cooper loses her balance swinging over the top and putting too much weight forward, Albert finally blasts her on the counter and tags the jaw to stagger the older brunette on her heels. A quick follow up clips the breasts and Jodi sags her foe with a powerful hook on the mouth that triggers some proper crowd support. Claire tries to shut the close range heat down with a clinch herself but gets bumped to the side when Jodi harpoons her midsection and has to yield real estate alltogether in the final minute with Albert leaning on the front leg and punishing her to the body with a spirited jabbing drive that catches the older brunette by surprise and leaves her sagging on the ropes at the bell.

Round 4:
Claire jumps into a jabbing frenzy upstairs but even though she clips Jodi's jaw a couple of times, she doesn't reel her into a defensive mood and soaks up a massive thunder hook on the nose that staggers on the spot instead. Cooper's knees buckle visibly after that shot and her arms collapse by the wayside briefly; that's enough for Albert to crack a left/right combo on the jaw as Claire sinks deeper on her knees with a loud yelp and can't fend off the subsequent right hook that cleans out her temple... DOWN GOES COOPER... Impressive drive from the Foxfire brunette but she just exposed Claire very badly here and allthough the older brunette jumps to her feet at six, she'd be better of taking more time off the clock... Jodi rips into her face thereafter shattering the cumbersome high guard and snaps her head back & forth pounding the aching girl back to the ropes where she switches low on the guts and harpoons the liver area to leave Cooper gasping for air amid painful screams at the bell. Looks like Jodi's back and back for good!

Round 5:
Cooper stares at her opponent in utmost disbelief but she just can't land anything on Albert's flesh anymore lacking the speed and agility while the Foxfire girl picks her off in mid range during the opening minute leaving plenty of bruises on the otherwise pretty face. Claire's fighting spirit begins to dwindle when Jodi stuffs her up with another uppercut drive on the jaw and allthough a blatant clinching effort earns her some respite on the two minute mark, it's all Albert afterwards. She pounds Cooper's midriff to gain separation and riffles more head hunting shots to keep the older brunette ducking for cover and unable to halt the onslaught anymore. When a drilling left hook finds the temple again, Claire just sags on the ropes with eyes closed and gets wrenches on the lips in the dying seconds as well. She trembles back over the ropes and if there was more time left on the clock, Jodi would have most likely finished her off right there but the looming KO scenario is postponed much to Albert's chagrin. However the Cardiff crowd believes that Cooper's ship has sailed regardless.

Round 6:
Claire avoids quitting on her stool but she's too banged up to make the fight competitive anymore and Jodi rips into her guts to lower the high earmuff before blasting another uppercut combo that shuts the older brunette's eyes and leaves her awaiting the coup de grace... Brutal left hook nails her on the nose and that's as easy KO punch as you like, Claire just slides down on her knees before collapsing face down on the canvas and the ref doesn't even bother with the count. KO6 Jodi Albert!!!

AFTER: That was the best possible comeback result for Jodi who looked seriously out of shape in the opening two rounds but took full advantage of Claire's lack of aggression which helped her to settle in the fight. And once she started to bang Cooper up there was no way back for the older brunette who showed nothing that indicates she will become a dangerous floater on the Hollyoaks Tournament. Even Emma Rigby should look forward to the Cooper fight now and one must wonder what lies ahead for the embattled brunette who needs to be revived off the boards and looks utterly shattered in Week One of the event already. Those Tom Hilton predictions sure seem pretty accurate right now and Denise van Outen believes Claire can't perform any worse even if she tried to. Because Jodi's Foxfire Atlantic backing doesn't warrant such a dismal resistance and lack of outright skill. It's gonna be a looooong event for the Yorkshire-born actress!

Final result: Jodi Albert def. Claire Cooper KO6.
