Claire Holt versus Shay Mitchell
(Partial Fight Report)

Before: It had been the most important fight of their careers. The Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries casts had taken two fights apiece, and now everything rested on the shoulders of their big bantam brawlers. Twelve grueling rounds later, Claire’s hand was being raised and she was forcing Shay back into a corner, planting a mocking kiss on her cheek in lieu of the Walk of Shame she was denied. Having seen how she handled pressure, Holt’s management would spend the spring and summer putting the polish on a champion. Nineteen months later, Claire would have the straps around her waist. Shay Mitchell, the fighter who won the first victory for the PLP would lose seven of her next ten. She’d managed to battle her way back to a 50-50 record; but the last BWO put Claire waiting out Lioness Club’s moratorium on fighters who’ve had a title fight in the last year at #3, while Shay was barely in the top 50. They’ve split a pair of rematches since, but nothing has budged the impression: Claire’s elite, and Shay just isn’t.

“Beating Shay is like riding a bike,” Claire assures people in prefight, “you NEVER forget how! I’ll just step to her and get work done. When she starts crying, that’s when the fun starts!” Shay defiant: “I’ve grown. I’ve taken the next step up. She’s coasted since then, and that just isn’t enough anymore!” Shay in itsy-bitsy blue bikini, Claire in floral print bikini. White gloves and loose hair all around.

Match: Shay stepping left behind a brace of belly jabs, twists into a clanging right that POUNDS off Claire’s left eye, rocking her head back. Holt momentarily stunned, stepping in fence post holes, ear-muffing up--Mitchell hops in all grins and GETS CHEWED UP! Claire standing strong, halts Shay’s advance with a rough shoulder in the chest, hooks her midriff, hooks her face, turns into a clubbing right off the face. Mitchell getting hammered, bravely trying to muscle her way through it. Gorgeous slamming stuff from Holt, abrupt punching tearing at Shay and hurting her. Mitchell falls back behind a nice workmanlike stick, taking smart little steps and sliding her feet, keeping her punching balance. Holt dipping and weaving jabs, but she’s getting nailed right hands as Shay finds openings, brunette hurts blonde once again, rubbering up Claire’s legs for a moment. That was the first minute. What follows is nineteen (19) more minutes of stalemate. Shay outworks the blonde at mid-range, Claire pounds things out when she can get in close to pummel that bronzed body. Soon both vixens weeping for air during the breaks, heads lolling back. Hair tumbled down in soggy tangles, curling and frizzing with their mingled sweat. It’s exhausting work and it can’t last but it does. Things begin to get cheap as the mutual mauling grinds on, Holt bearhugging Mitchell belly-to-belly to waddle them onto the ropes. Shay pulling hair to lift Claire’s neck back and forcing a loosening of the crushing grip. In the final minute of the 7th round, Holt pressing Mitchell near, but not on, the ropes, girls working hard shoulder to shoulder, swapping body shots. Both girls climb the torso at the same time, trading hooks and CLAIRE'S HURT! Holt stepping in fence post holes as Mitchell turns a nifty hook over to the chops Shay's beautiful face lighting up as she turns the table on her nemesis. Bludgeoning right hands on the ear move Claire in a circle to the ropes - she hits with her shoulder, covers up and grits her teeth as Mitchell steals the round with a shelling flurry at the bell. Shay crowing, lifting her mitts to strut as she makes the first breakthrough in this fight! Shay gathers herself during the break, charging out the aggressor. Claire ashen faced, achy off her stool, covered up, gets ridden hard to the ropes as Mitchell breaks over her like a tidal wave. Shay wants it all: belly, hips, flanks, jug, and that hated face - brunette putting a systematic beatdown on Claire that brings crowd to it's feet. Mitchell working hard, face red as she dips and pumps one, two, three right hands into Holt's midsection, accepting the slumping blonde into her arms and bulling her upright. Shay going all in, throwing in her reserves, Claire helpless but trying to hang on: if she survives , she knows Mitchell’s got nothing left. Not for the faint of heart - Claire face in her gloves, drowsily bending forward: Shay baring her teeth and digging at her blonde, getting hips and back into the punching, bodying up to keep Holt pinned down. Merciless onslaught goes on and on - poor Claire propped up and battered, head swinging freely as punches tag her chin and FINALLY Holt goes down! Claire sprawling on her face - exhausted Shay stepping back, breathing hard, then lifting her mitts in triumph as Holt lies still. KO8 in brutal fashion as Mitchell evens things up between them!

After: Shay pumped, answered her critics tonight, vindicated herself tonight with a rugged, all-in performance. Both beauties badly hurt, should be out of action for a long time, but tonight she’ s the last woman standing. She starts to make her way across, aiming to be the first to put the other through a Walk of Shame, but the quit Claire was mining under her ribs bunches her up just a little too late. Mitchell gamely gives it another try, but she’s not going to be claiming any tribute tonight. If either of them is going to be showing her superiority, they’re going to have to do it after their next tie-breaker!
