Ashley Benson versus Kaya Scodelario

Before: This is Kaya Scodelario's second bout on America soil after an intense brawl with her still best friend Nina Dobrev that ended with both needing a trip to the hospital.

But for anyone who follows the BBU will remember that Ashley Benson also challenged the young English woman to a bout in a friendly manner.

Some people question it like Nina Dobrev who called Ashley "a sneaky bytch" when she'd heard the challenge.

So at the press conference for this bout Ashley replied "that Nina Dobrev is simply a jealous bytch who knows I'm superior."

Nodding towards Kaya; she added "look I have no beef with you but you need to pick better company is my advice"

Kaya smirked as she took the podium "I actually hate to say because you've just insulted my bestie but I kind of like you, you've been straight with me but fight time it's business"

Ashley has a pink sports bra; shorts, shoes and gloves that show her great figure off.

Kaya isn't being upstaged though in all blue gear which shows her trim body.

“You look even better in person,” Ashley pronounced. “and it’s going to be a real shame pounding on that body.”

Kaya smiled sweetly: “That’s all right, Ashley, because I’ll be pounding your body and we’ll just get to see whose body gives out first.”

Ashley laughed: “I do like a challenge, Kaya. I can see you are going to be one.”

Kaya continued to smile: “You are correct about that, but, as you will learn, I like challenges too.”

“This is going to good,” Ashley said.

“Yes, it will,” Kaya said.

The words were all polite and done with smiles, but the undercurrent of competition could be sensed by shrewder in the audience. These marked this fight down for special attention at the PPV.

On Fight Night, Ashley appeared in one of her favorite fighting outfits: a sexy red one piece suit. It was augmented by red gloves and boots (gold laces). Her hair was pulled back in a simple ponytail with a red ribbon. Kaya had gone out and brought a blue one piece swimsuit that clung to her body; it showed off her always trim figure that had added tonedness thanks to training under Taryn Terrell. She added a pair of blue boots (with white laces) and to complete her gear, blue gloves with her own black hair tied back into a ponytail with a blue ribbon. Ring instructions given to the nodding opponents, their ponytail ribbons bobbing, who then politely swipe gloves and go quickly to their corners to await the bell.

Round 1:
The bell rings and the young ladies come out bouncing on their toes with a high guard as the feeling out process begins with both jabbing and waiving to test out defences. Both showing respect for the other as the jabs are thrown with venom to try to show that they mean business tonight alright. Roughly thirty seconds in; Ashley drives forward with the first combo of the fight with a jab-straight-hook that seems to wake Kaya up a little as she throws a little leather back before the tactical battle continues. A minute in and now it's Kaya who shows great flexibility to lean backwards out the way of a hook and throw a hard straight counter punch that backs up Ashley. For a full minute it's Kaya that's on the front foot; chasing down Ashley with a jabbing drill that sees some success with Benson's guard absorbing most of the punches. The final minute sees the California girl get her footwork back in order; the two stand to trade slightly more till the bell, they touch gloves out of respect.

Round 2:
Ashley has a determined look on her face that this will be her round as again the two lithe young bantamweights dance around the other with great footwork. As Kaya goes for a jab; Ashley sidesteps then returns with her own counterpunch to repay Scodelario for hers in the last round. The pace of the bout changes as Ashley quickens the tempo to keep her less experienced opponent backing up around the outside of the ring. Half the round gone now, Kaya manages to stop the retreat with a clinch that's tight, Ashley's surprised that the London has such great technique for only seven fights. As they're separated to fight; Kaya seems willing to stand and trade as she'd evidently prefer that to backpedaling around the ring. Quick combos are traded that land to different parts of their opposition as guards start to be loosened up, while feet are planted more for the remainder of the round. At the bell; the two women share a quick stare then swivel around to go to their stools.

Between rounds:
Ashley returns to her stool to praise from Nia; "great job that round with the early pressure, stick to pushing her around the ring to tire her out" Nia is also busy cleaning Benson's face a quick sponge wash to get rid of sweat already forming. Then she gives her fighter more water as the women calmly discuss tactics for taking down Miss Scodelario. While in the opposing corner; Kaya looks a little downfallen after having a good first round then a shambles of a second. Lauren looks like a disapproving mother whose caught her daughter in the cookie jar once again. "See Kaya; you need to get your emotions in check because you lose focus to early, you have to think positive, attack from the bell and make her make mistakes" says Lauren to a slightly pink faced Kaya from where the punches hit her. After doing both their fix-ups to their fighters; the coaches depart from the ring to allow round three to begin.

Round 3:
Now it's the brunette in blue who changes the pace to top speed as she shocks the blonde by coming out quickly. Kaya is taking a few shots but unloading more in return with hard and fast punches that rock Ashley who has to create space by using her footwork. The problem is the English lass is just as quick as she pummels the American backwards, the crowd look amazed at this action. Ashley manages to clinch after a full minute of being hammered around, her ponytail is coming loose from her head rocking back as much. Meanwhile Kaya is trying to wrestle free to continue the barrage but finds that Ashley has too tight a grip so she has to make do with the ref separating them. With less then a minute to go Kaya seems to be taking a small break after throwing so much so early. But she still manages to mostly dictate the action as Ashley is afraid to engage so eagerly meaning the round ends on a much more low key note.

Between rounds:
Ashley shakes her head as she returns to her corner with Nia looking like she wants to give her an earful. But as Ashley sits down; Nia gets to work trying to keep the swelling thats formed around her cheeks and bits around her right eye. Whispering so the cameras can't hear; Nia says "you have to win this Benson; don't embarrass us against this unknown bytch." Ashley takes it all in; peeking over to Kaya's side, she attempts to refocus, to get into the it's me or her state of mind. For Kaya it's about keeping calm as Lauren wipes her down while praising her, "that's my girl, they think you're a scared little girl far from home, we both know you're a woman with the talent to be a champion" The brunette nods as she attempts to regulate her breathing after that early barrage she threw in the last round. The corner women leave as an intensity between the two combatants is growing as competitive edges take over.

Round 4:
Out come the two in a more seek and destroy mentality as they start fighting on the inside more often now instead of using the jab as much. Feet are planted more as gloves touch in guards; while they take turns snaking body hooks around the other with grunts being heard from both. After a solid minute Kaya surprisingly backs off; both coaches along with the crowd watch to see what the reason is. Kaya starts moving around again; seeking to keep control of the action as Ashley keeps on coming forwards to cut off space. More combos are being thrown to hurt the woman in front of them as the punches become harder. The noises of leather hitting bare skin is something that has to be heard in person as "thump!" echoes around the ring. The brunette uses the jab effectively again but she seems to be tiring after two rounds where she's expanded energy to not come near finishing this fight as the bell rings and the two women bump chests
together before going back to corners.

Between The Rounds:

As Ashley gets back to her stool Nia straight away works on keeping her fighter in fighting shape. "She's tired; that's why she backed off, make this a brawl and sooner or later you'll knock her out" instructs Nia as she believes she's read the bout perfectly. Lauren in the other corner doesn't look too bothered that Kaya backed away; instead making sure that Kaya's body will be ok. "Keep controlling the pace; you have to keep leading her around by the nose, out box her, out smart her, that's how you win" instructs Lauren who shows that her boxing knowledge isn't too shabby. But the question is which coach has picked up the fight correctly as these moments between rounds are becoming as important as the action. As the coaches leave the ring; Ashley waves Kaya to bring everything at her as the brunette smiles then nods.

Round 5:
Again the ladies come out all guns blazing to attempt to dominate from now till they can stop the other. Thirty seconds in and Ashley lands a hammer hook to brunette ribs that make Kaya gasp and back away. The blonde sends punch after punch to her rival till the brunettes back hits the ropes. Then Kaya fires back to try and get off the ropes; the crowd cheers as a full thirty seconds of wild punches are exchanged. After the halfway point; Kaya manages to force a clinch which makes the blonde scream in frustration at how she couldn't end it. The clinch isn't as tight as Ashley can see Kaya weakening allowing her to get several unanswered body punches that turn the brunettes face into a grimace. After they're separated; Kaya wants a chance to rest but is playing a matador with her jab to keep Ashley back as she wildly charges in till the bell. As it rings; Ashley pushes Kaya in her jugs, who replies with her own; the ref and their coaches get between them as tempers flare.

Between rounds:
Ashley storms back to her corner with Nia acting as a makeshift shield in case the two fighters attempt to make a beeline for the other. "Calm down right now!" shouts Nia like a stern teacher whose caught her prize pupil catfighting on school grounds. "You will refocus and continue to beat this girl up; no reckless bullshit, just get the job done!" this last bit Nia adds as she goes to work trying to stop even more swelling to her fighters face. Kaya isn't much better with her lip starting to swell; her eye that was injured in her last fight is starting to swell again, that worries Lauren the most. Yelling at Kaya; Lauren says "I've told you once, I've told you a million times; stop letting your emotions control you!" Kaya pretends that she’s listening but her and Ashley's eyes only seek each other’s with messages sent silently between them. They stand ready to resume; both glaring as they nod at each other, as if to confirm that the friendly gloves are off.

Round 6:
Going straight at each other; wham! Both connect at the same time with hard straights that rock the pair of them. Kaya recovers first; she almost tackles Ashley through the ropes as she pushes her towards them and lands some crisp shots to Bensons head. Ashley manages to tie up the brunettes arms to stop the onslaught as the two wrestle; while snarling and breathing hard from exhaustion. Two minutes to go and they evenly slug away at each other; wanting a piece of the other as at this moment in time respect is put to the back of their minds. With a minute to go; again Kaya disengages from the brawling and goes back to the single jab as she doesn't seem to have the match stamina to keep fighting a high intensity bout. Ashley isn't much better as she only really manages a late rally with twenty seconds to go, she gets Kaya into her corner and lays some heavy shots of her own. At the bell; the two women go nose to nose as Kaya goes past to reach her own corner.

Between rounds:
No words are spoken in either corner as the coaches are most desperate to make sure their fighter can have a chance to get to the end of the bout. Nia focuses on Ashley's cheeks as they are puffing up and her lips are not much better as the hard punches up the centre are taking their toll. Kaya's lip is trickling blood but Lauren goes to work on her fighters eyes; not wanting a repeat of the Dobrev fight, with one eye badly swollen and cut. Both coaches are now like den mothers; who don't want to see their little girls hurt but both women know that any damage they can limit now gives their fighter a better chance. The fighters slowly get up; both exhausted but willing to battle for as long as it takes to end this.

Round 7:
The crowd stand; cheering the fighters on as they sense the exhaustion both have from the rounds they went all out against each other. The footwork that was like two beautiful dancers in rhythm has become sloppy and lead footed as the punches become more desperate as they use their weight behind each punch for maximum pain. The two fighters after a full minute seem to almost collapse into a hug but the blonde rips a hard uppercut to the solar plexus of the brunette who has a stunned look and spit flies out her mouth. She's gulping air as she tries to get her guard to defend herself but is getting chased down by a focused predator in Benson. Over thirty seconds of hunting down her prey gets her reward as she gets Kaya on the ropes and lands several hard hooks up and down the brunettes body. Slumping down to her hands and knees; Kaya can't believe it's happening again as she hears the count above her but her strength has been sapped, before she even realizes the ref counts to ten.
Winner: Ashley Benson K.O round 7.

After:
Ashley raises her gloves into the air and tilts her head back to take in the applause from the crowd after a hard battle. Nia Peeples pats her back while congratulating her on a great win against Kaya Scodelario.

Lauren with a team of first aiders check on Kaya whose grimacing at her sore body but has no serious damage. Ashley walks over to Kaya as the crowd hush down to see what's going to happen as their coaches stand at their sides ready for anything.

The blonde touches gloves with Kaya as she adds an apology for the shoving match she caused in the middle of the bout.

Kaya smiles and asks for her gloves to be taken off then she lifts Ashley’s arm to show great sportswomanship as she adds "thank you for letting me fight you, it was an honour."

Kaya then removes the blue ribbon from her hair. It's soaked with sweat and a a bit frayed from being knocked around in the course of the fight. She hands it to an astonished Ashley.

"Something to remember our first fight by,"Kaya says.

Tears start to roll down Ashley’s bruised cheeks. Then she reaches up and removes her own hair ribbon and hands it to a dumbfounded Kaya.

“I think one nice gesture deserves another.You are something else Kaya, something else." Ashley says giving the brunette a big hug

"So are you, Ashley," Kaya says hugging her back as tears run down her cheeks and the crowd cheers for them both!

(Though the approval is not universal. Seated near Nina Dobrev, Skip Tracey of Archer News Service sees the Lookout fighter scowling with displeasure and muttering: "I can't believe she's falling for Benzo's act! Disgusting!" Skip makes a note wondering this will mean to future relations between Kaya, Ashley and Nina. He is pretty sure it will something that will interest his readers).
