Gemma Atkinson (Beever's Babes) versus Katrina Law (Floydian)

Katrina has been cruelly underboxed in FCBA, and this will be her first fight since Christmas, as she takes on the upwardly mobile Gemma, who still fancies her chances of taking the welterweight crown.

The girls are both in the ring, Katrina in a red leather bikini, with matching gloves and boots, with Gemma in a white bikini, gloves and boots

Round 1

The girls are cautious early on, each wary of the other’s punching ability, and Gemma makes the first mistake, missing Katrina with a wild right hook, and she has to take a couple of good hits from her opponent, Katrina snapping Gemma’s head backwards with good, straight hits, and she has the blonde defending, covering up as Katrina prods her to the body with good shots, Gemma paying the penalty for her carelessness, Katrina landing a hard right hook in her mouth to send her spinning, but she doesn’t quite follow that up quickly enough, finds the Brit in a good defensive position, and now she over reaches, Gemma taking advantage, and she gets a good combination of punches landing on Katrina’s face, the American caught by a hard right, and she stumbles as she clinches, Gemma standing tall, aims another hook – but takes a swift double jab and cross from Katrina, who ends the round on top, and just about ahead.

Round 2

Gemma’s looking a little quicker than Katrina as they restart, and she certainly rocks the brunette with a heavy jab and hook combination, pressing Katrina backwards, and she seems to like the situation with her girl against the ropes – but Katrina has other ideas, and she gives Gemma two hard left hooks to the jaw, another to the ribs, and she’s turned the blonde around with those punches, has her backed into the ropes instead, and she’s beginning to lay into the Brit with some hefty bodyblows, Gemma taking the punches well, but this must be sapping her energy, her guard beginning to drop already, and Kat gets a couple of good, free hits into Gemma’s face, the blonde girl looking hurt at this stage, dribbling blood from her nose as Kat tries to tee off on her again, the Brit somehow managing to slip clear, and she even lands a couple of reasonable punches of her own, takes a left hook to the jaw, and she’s covering up again at the bell, Katrina wins that round well.

Round 3

Already bloodied and bruised, Gemma has to take a pair of good shots to the face as soon as the girls resume, and she’s getting backed into a corner now by Katrina, the American becoming more dominant, and she’s starting to rip into Gemma with more hard punches, the blonde’s head getting thumped backwards, switches deftly to her body, hurts her with a left to the liver, but doesn’t like it when Gemma comes back at her, the Brit almost in desperation turning defence into attack, and she lands three punches in very quick succession in Kat’s face, the brunette having to cover for once, and Gemma gives her a few big hits to the body, really laying into her for the first time, Kat clearly hurt by these punches, and she gets her head lifted up by a short little uppercut, gets a lucky break as Gemma misses with a right hook followup, and hits the blonde girl again, sweet punches to the face leaving their mark late in the round, but at last Gemma’s got some decent action flowing in a close round.

Round 4

After the ferocity of round 3, the action is slower in round 4, but it’s Kat who starts to land the punches again, solid right jabs on Gemma’s face bringing up a swelling on the blonde girl’s cheek, and this slower pace is really suiting Katrina, the big brunette finding Gemma again to the body, really sinking those punches into the Brit’s belly area, testing her defences and her resolve, with Gemma clinching, although Kat’s still landing punches to her body inside, roughing the blonde up at close quarters, the referee more or less letting these big Amazons sort themselves out, and Gemma pushes Kat back, swings her right, and lands it on the brunette’s jaw, Kat stunned, but covering, and she punishes Gemma for being careless again, the Brit too close, and she’s eating three hard punches to her jaw, but stands firm, feels the power of Kat’s left hook to her ribs, but she trades punches with the brunette, gets hurt with a slamming right to her cheek, but lands quick replies to Katrina’s face, and it’s the brunette holding on at the close of the round, although she certainly had the better of things once again.

Round 5

Katrina clearly wants to force the issue now, the brunette blowing hard as she moves towards Gemma, her face grim with determination, and she whizzes an uppercut past the blonde’s face, but this lets the Brit get to her, Gemma countering quickly, and with venom, her right and left gloves thudding into Katrina’s waiting face, the brunette looking shocked as the tide turns against her, and she looks tired now as Gemma ups her game, increases the pace, and starts to land her punches with embarrassing ease, Kat drifting backwards, and she gets hit and hurt with Gemma’s right uppercut, staggers, and finds herself being backed into the ropes, where the blonde unloads a furious onslaught on her, battering her to the body with left and right hooks, lifting her head up again with a left uppercut this time, Kat Law taking a real beating in this round, somehow managing to clinch to pause the punishment, but it soon resumes after the referee parts her from the Brit, who swipes Kat to the jaw with a left hook, the American’s knees buckling, but she stands firm, takes more shots to her body, and looks dazed at the bell as she starts limping back to a neutral corner instead of her ow, face red and body bruising, with Gemma winning that round bigtime.

Round 6

Germma’s looking confident now, and the big blonde sets on Kat right from the bell, again softening the brunette up with that right uppercut, Gemma unloading again to her body as well, and the anguish is showing on Kat’s face as she takes a big left hook to her liver, tries to grasp at Gemma, but takes another big hit, this time to her face, and she’s a sitting duck as the Brit finishes her off with another crashing hook, Kat’s head bouncing on the canvas as she falls flat on her back, out!

Result: Gemma Atkinson knocked out Katrina Law in round 6.

That goes down as something of a surprise in most books, but Gemma suddenly seems to be getting her act together – she took some shots, but had plenty left in the tank to take care of Katrina’s challenge, and maybe there’s more to come from the big blonde?
