BEFORE: When Ann-Kathrin Brommel announced her plans to fight Rosie Huntington-Whiteley a couple of months ago, plenty of experts pictured a battle of the jobbers - helped by the fact the German model got absolutely roasted by Krystal Forscutt on her BBU debut. Rosie is a walking punchbag out there which the Girls Friday brutally confirmed in March thanks to Kelly Gale and Alessandra Ambrosio and "AK" as she's known within the Black Eagles wants to secure her own shot at making the Plymouth model look this bad.

Indeed, Rosie cuts a popular figure as a former Victoria's Secret stalwart but even more so given her lousy 1-10 fighting record. She hasn't won one of these combats since stopping the much-maligned Zoe Salmon back in September 2012 but perhaps getting officially engaged to Hollywood tough guy Jason Statham will finally spring her into any sort of meaningful action. It's about time!

Ann-Kathrin Brommel wears a turquoise bikini with yellow stripes and white gloves. Long dark blonde hair tied in a loose ponytail. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wears a black bikini set and silver gloves. Long blonde hair straight, tucked behind the ears. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
It's really a matter of pride for Rosie these days, nobody likes to be singled out as the weakest girl in the division but her early burst against AK ends in a fruitless thumping of the high guard and it's clear the Plymouth model lacks efficiency and confidence because she steps back after the initial failure and opens the door for immediate response. Brommel has no second thoughts about giving the fellow model a solid WHACK across the mouth which bends Rosie to the side and triggers a hectic escape mode with Ann-Kathrin in a constant pursuit. However the German blonde also lacks the lightness required to conquer the chaotic backpedalling and Rosie survives the duck & weave moments to actually riffle a nasty uppercut on the jaw that reels the local girl back but she fails to back it up with another swing and just stares at Brommel instead of thumping her one more time. How awkward was that?!

Round 2:
Apparently Rosie finally received the memo that she needs to be more aggressive and both lanky operators clash in the center of the ring with head hunting intentions; the Plymouth model lands the first punch on the mouth and adds a quick hook to the temple but remains glued to her spot and fails to avoid Ann-Kathrin blasting her across the nose with superior power. Brommel barks in anger as she misses the additional hook and allows the Brit to clinch her but ref quickly separates the combatants and Ann can flick another looping hook on the temple to wobble Huntington towards the ropes. Neither of these models are speed demons though and Brommel just lacks the proper step as she lets Rosie off the hook again, the defensive circles bring Huntington plenty of respite but don't secure much love from the score judges.

Round 3:
This is a weird bout according to Georgie Thompson, Ann settles into a single punch assault as if she expects to down the English model regardless and doesn't put much effort into her pursuit early in the third. Huntington tries to land some crisp punches over the top but after bouncing off the high guard, she drops back as well and the crowd is losing it's patience fast as the action hits the stalemate button half-way through. Despite Gina Wild's annoying screams, Ann-Kathrin refuses to step up to the plate and both Georgie and Michelle Joy Phelps indicate why she's the inferior prospect compared to Kelly Gale and Alessandra Ambrosio. The betting favorite tag has apparently affected the lanky German's mentality and the Lanxess Arena salutes the girls with a loud set of jeers at the bell.

Round 4:
Gina Wild has flipped a switch during the interval and Brommel comes flying in against Rosie's face to secure immediate connection and wobble the Plymouth lass on her heels within seconds of the bell. Huntington tries to swing back over the top but only skims off the top of Ann's forehead and while she drops her left arm too low - SHE GETS CAUGHT with a vicious right hook on the jaw that makes her scream and allows Brommel to add another one from the other side. That strike finds the brow ridge and bends Rosie into a piercing uppercut on the jaw - the English girl bounces off the German's shoulder but still keeps her arms low enough for another looping hook to crash into her nose AND SEND HER TUMBLING DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE moments later... the Cologne audience is jeering no more and Ann's beaming smile confirms the swift upgrade in her performance... or is Rosie simply that weak & hittable? Well, Gina Wild doesn't care about it and the crowd is also happy to see the English model get up at eight to suffer more punishment... the escape mode sends Huntington butt-in-ropes but Brommel squares up to her to dismantle the guard and leave a couple of significant lumps on that pretty English face... Rosie caves in wholesale but the bell saves the remains of her pride before the ref can step in and stop the fight.

Round 5:
Rosie needs to book a fight against some of the free agent cream puffs since she's getting picked off by Brommel now and her face begins to swell badly around the left eye. The German backs her into the ropes come the minute mark and fends off woefully predictable and sluggish hooking efforts before blasting a left cross on the nose and shutting Rosie's eyes for good... another quick switch on the guts only adds to the Plymouth misery and has Huntington leaning forward and bouncing off the shoulder again before one final hook on the liver WRAPS HER INTO KO DAZE moments later... the English model just crumbles onto her knees and blubbers her demise... that's almost a carbon copy of how Sandy Moelling got counted out just minutes ago! KO5 Ann-Kathrin Brommel!!!

AFTER: That was a genuine ass-kicking from the lanky German... once she finally got going! She was lucky that Rosie is truly a walking punchbag out there because even a randon Page Three model would have stormed to beat Ann-Kathrin up in front of her home crowd. The first three rounds were as puzzling to the BBU TV crew as to anyone familiar with the UK boxing scene and proves that Brommel still has a lot to learn and she won't be stealling the headlines that quickly either. This isn't exactly Kelly Gale-like blockbuster performance and Michelle Joy Phelps openly claims it's down to Mel Sykes & the Girls Friday being a superior stable to Gina Wild & the Black Eagles. Well, the California reporter isn't the most objective expert out there but any gossip coverage will suit the viewers since there's literally nothing to write home about Huntington's performance tonight. The girl needs a break and some friendly soul to explain her what is this boxing thing all about!

Final result: Ann-Kathrin Brommel def. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley KO5.
