HAYDEN PANETTIERE VS BRIANA EVIGAN

Before:  “It’s funny,” Briana Evigan says from the podium at the pre-PPV press event, “here I am with 4 inches or so on Hayden, but you all know I’m the underdog this fight. Well, that’s all right, if Hayden’s willing to back on someone bigger than her—I’m willing to take the win away from her. I’m feeling very good after I upset Nina Dobrev. My ABC management, especially Jen Connelly our GM and Alyssa Milano our head trainer have really helped me develop as a fighter. A year ago I would thought it would be nuts to fight a fighter of Hayden’s class—let alone be able to beat her—but now I have the tools and the confidence to do just that. I won’t beat Hayden just because I’m bigger than her, but because I will be better than her in this fight.”

Hayden sits there in stoic silence, but when she takes the podium her voice has a tremor of emotion: “I realize that my loss to Lucy Hale has suddenly made me look vulnerable to veterans like Connelly and Milano, so they’ve sent Briana out to build on that win over Nina Dobrev. That was impressive and I know she’ll be giving me a tough fight, but that won’t be enough for her to actually beat me. That loss to Lucy was a wake-up call for me and I’m not going to underestimate Briana or any future opponent. I am not about to lose any more ground in this division. Briana—(she turns to face Briana)—YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE! I WILL BEAT YOU.!”

Briana looks startled at the vehement loudness of Hayden’s declaration, but then she says simply: “I am sorry, Hayden, but that won’t happen. You are the one who will lose — again.”

Hayden’s face reddens, but she simply nods stiffly and walks off the stage. Briana watches her go and then says: "I guess, we’ll just have to fight the fight and see who is right.”

On the night of the fight Briana appears in a purple bikini with matching gloves and boots (white laces) and a purple bow securing a brunette ponytail. Hayden was in a forest green bikini with black gloves and boots. Her hair in a battle braid down her back. The two stand coolly facing each other as the referee recites the rules. Briana must have been coached to get as close to Hayden as possible so as to “loom over” her the small blonde. Hayden stands her ground until they swipe gloves and they depart for their corners. The bell rings…

R1: Hayden out of her corner with startling speed and driving her gloves into Briana’s tanned midsection. Looks like she’s been watching film of the Dobrev/Evigan fight and decided Nina had the right idea, just not enough pop to wreck Briana’s abs. Briana quickly counters with a pounding of Hayden’s own midsection and adding some jugg shots to shake up the Foxfire attack. Hayden gritting her mouthpiece as her rack comes under fire and just keeps up the body attack. Two fighters going toe to toe and really throwing in leather to body. Hayden surprises Briana late with quick uppercuts into the brunette’s chin. Then it’s back to the body bombardment against the ABC fighter. Briana taking a lot of pressure but keeping in there to the bell, but the veteran gets the round, though Briana keeps it close on points.

R2: Now it’s Briana’s time to coming zipping out of her corner and getting to Hayden first. Briana fires in some quick straight rights and lefts that nail Hayden in both eyes, then as the blonde reels back, she smacks Hayd’s jaw around with a quick right. Hayden struggling to pull herself together as Briana swarms in, this time to the creamy body of the petite blonde. Briana sinking those hooks deep into Hayden’s gut and making her retreat. Hayden bobbing and weaving as she backs up, finally getting her jab going, but not before Briana catches her on the nose with a flashing left. Hayden shuddering as a trickle of red comes out one nostril, but she maintains the jab to keep Briana back to the bell. However this was clearly a wide-won round for the ABC fighter. Hayden not looking so good with two reddening, swollen areas around her eyes. Briana looks quite cheerful on her stool.

R3: Hayden comes back with determination this round and it sets off a fierce toe to toe battle that the crowd loves. The smaller fighter just boring her way in, smiting Briana to the belly, ribs, and hoisting hooks into Evigan’s hooters. Briana taking a lot of shelling, but she counters with a counter-barrage of her own. Mainly Briana is working Hayden’s rapidly red and splotchy midsection, but with a sudden jaw and face shot whenever she thinks Hayden isn’t expecting it. Hayden remains focused on breaking Briana’s body all the way to the bell. Her focus helps her win a close round and Briana’s not smiling on her stool during the break.

R4: Hayden resumes her body attack as this round gets started. Briana starting to grit her mouthpiece as that leather comes thundering into guts with a merciless fury. Briana trying to to circle now and get away from the constant pressure on her torso, while firing away at Hayden’s head and flanks. Hayden swinging with her then suddenly shifts her course when she spots Briana’s upper guard opening up, and a leaping Hayden right crashes into the point of Briana’s chin. DOWN GOES BRIANA EVIGAN! Briana drops to her butt and sits there looking up at a fiercely grinning Hayden. Referee shoos Hayden to the neutral corner and then starts his count. Briana panting hard, pulls herself together, and rises at “…NINE!” Fight resumes, but Briana in no mood for close in action. She keeps away from Hayden who is obliged to settle for winning the round,  but by a goodly margin thanks to that knockdown.

R5: Briana cautious coming out for this round and Hayden happy to take advantage by dominating the action. Hayden promptly resumes her body attack on Briana. Briana now hunching up a lot and trying to keep some distance between herself and the aggressive small blonde. Hayden keeps closing the distance and roasting Briana’s aching torso. Briana does keep her jab going and it gets some leather into Hayden’s face. One shot catches Hayden’s right eyebrow and pops open the swelling to drip blood down the side of her cheek. Hayden ignores this to keep up her body pressure, but Briana’s getting more elusive with her footwork and the attack seems less effective as the round ends. Still, Hayden is awarded the round wide on the cards.

R6: Round begins with Hayden again on the body attack, but Briana comes back with some solid countering punches to Hayden’s own body. Hayden hit hard in the belly and gets her boobies banged back by straight Briana rights and lefts to forest green bikini top. Hayden not about to back down, comes back in for more close-in body banging with Briana. Briana seems to be leveraging her height advantage as she starts hammering down on Hayden, trying to break through her high guard and late in the round she scores a shot to that right eyebrow that starts bleeding again. Hayden still not backing down, trying to wreck Briana’s midsection, but taking a lot of punishment herself and Briana seems to gain upper hand just as the round end. Briana gets a close, but hard-earned round. Hayden looking dazed as she slumps on her stool and the Foxfire corner crew labors to repair the damage to her eyebrow.

R7: Hayden seems to have lost a lot of steam as she comes out for this round. She is defensive and doesn’t seem to want more toe-to-toe action. Briana shows her coolness by not rushing to the attack, but she maintains a steady pressure, pounding Hayden’s belly, ribs and making Hayden’s puppies shudder with a vigorous jugg attack. Hayden trying to counter with her jab and she is doing some damage, but it’s not really slowing Briana’s methodical pounding. Hayden starts to recoil from Briana’s belly busting and she’s clearly feeling every  Bell rings and Hayden staggers off to her corner holding her ravaged midsection. Briana watching this carefully as is trainer Alyssa Milano who whispers: “You got her. Go and finish the job!”

R8: Hayden makes a great effort to come out fighting this round, but Briana stings her with a quick overhand shot that reopens that eyebrow cut. Hayden struggling to fight back, but she is losing energy and is looking increasingly distressed as sweat and blood drip down her body. Briana seems to be steering Hayden towards the ropes. Hayden fighting wildly to prevent this, but she’s opening herself alarmingly. Briana then makes her move: she drops down and comes popping with an uppercut that started around her ankles and comes shooting under Hayden’s gloves and smashes into her chin. Hayden literally lifted off her feet and flung against the nearby ropes. Hayden hits the strands, bounces off with her arms limp at her sides and just crashes into the canvas as Briana calmly steps aside. Briana all grins as she watches Hayden struggling to rise, but ends on her knees, arms wrapped around her body as tears of frustration roll down her cheeks. “…NINE!...TEN.. YOU’RE OUT!”

Yes it’s over! The Winner: Briana Evigan KO8

After: Briana literally jumping up and down in excitement as her ABC teammates swarm around her. Alyssa Milano whispering in her charge’s ear and helps Briana out of her gloves. Briana gleefully goes over to the Foxfire corner where Hayden has been brought. Hayden looks up in disbelief at Briana standing there.

“On your feet, I want to show everyone that Briana Evigan can beat the best—well, the formerly best,” Briana says.

Hayden groans, but accepts her fate. Briana takes a firm grasp around Hayden’s waist as she leads the battering blonde around the ring. Briana fascinated by the amount of damage she’s done to the former champion and likes to pose helpfully pointing out Hayden’s badly bruised belly and that eyebrow. Hayden does object when Briana pokes a curious finger into Hayden’s aching breasts drawing an protesting yelp.

“Sorry,” Briana says, “ but I just couldn’t resist.” Hayden just growls in frustration.

After Briana has turned Hayden back over to trainer Virginia Madsen  she tells the press: “I trust there will be no more doubters about my contender status after this. I honestly think I deserve a crack at the title, but at least a crack at a Top 5 contender. It’s taken me a long time to get this far, but I have arrived and I couldn’t be happier.

A sullen Hayden Panettiere says: “I am honestly shocked this happened. I know I was breaking her down to the body. You saw me knock her down, but I guess her secret is that she is tougher than I thought. She came back. She got me weakened to the body and then she lowered the boom. The post-fight? I would rather not talk about that except to say we here at Foxfire see the fine hand of Alyssa Milano. She’s hated Dani Fishel and us for a long time. But we always get her back in the end. So celebrate while you can Briana, Alyssa and the rest of you Alphas—Foxfire doesn’t forget. We’ll pay you back. That is a promise!”

Briana Evigan continues to shake up the Flyweight Division with a career-best win over a very tough, though smaller Hayden Panettiere. Note to future opponents: it may seem tempting to beat Briana to the body, but as Nina and now Hayden found out, it’s a lot harder to actually pull off. Future suddenly looks bright from Briana and her new stable. Meanwhile, Hayden faces the grim task of coming back from successive losses tom underdog fighters. Being a favored fighter is great—until you lose and then comes the fight to regain that status. It won’t be easy, but if anyone can do it, Hayden Panettiere can.
