In spite of only being in the middle of March, Kelly Hall’s last bout seemed an age away given recent developments in the flyweight division. Media speculation in the days after that win over Emily Atack centred over would she or wouldn’t she make a play for Jenna-Louise’s belt. As it soon became clear that she wouldn’t, other potential contenders, notably Jade Ewen, Jessica Jane Clement and Maria Ozawa, were not slow to suck up all of the oxygen in the division, with their own bids to get some ringtime with Jenna-Louise. Kelly meanwhile has spent April and May, glamour modelling and commentating on flyweight bouts. She is keen to get back in the ring however and to get the attention of the movers and shakers in the division. When a fight with Ola Jordan is mooted, Kelly accepts and negiotiations prove straightforward.

Ola Jordan, since pushing Jenna-Louise almost all the way, last May, has shown indifferent form. Haruna Yabuki took her the distance in January, whilst Dannii Minogue beat her in February. In the meantime, she has made the front pages, rather than the back pages of the gutter press in the UK, due to a number of sex scandals and reports of infidelity between her and her fellow dancing partner. Keen to wrest back the initiative, she welcomes the challenge from Hall as part of another tilt at Jenna-Louise’s title.

This Flyweight fight is scheduled for 10 rounds and is being held at Wembley Arena. Hall enters the ring in a matching set of black bra, panties and gloves, whilst Jordan has opted for the corresponding set in yellow.

Round 1: Jordan starting with some real aggression here, trying to move forward and throw punches. Hall landing some good shots on the counter. Jordan hurts Hall with about 40 seconds left in the round, and tries to pounce, but is tied up.

Round 2: Hall’s defence is...lacking. Jordan is having a fairly easy time with this fight right now, because Hall is leaky on defence. Hall is getting hurt on body shots late in the round.

Round 3: Hall goes low, and she knows it. It was a clear accident. Back to action. Jabbing from Hall, little combos when Jordan gets close. Jordan goes down with a right hand! She's up, and it was just before the bell, so the round ends.

Round 4: Hall eats a big right, staggers into the corner and hangs on to the ropes, waiting for Jordan to come forward so she can tie her up.

Round 5: Jordan landing some shots this round, Hall has backed off some, maybe taking a round off. Hall tries to finish the round strong and maybe steal it. HARD right hand from Hall, and, well, that probably did steal it, because it was a big, eye-catching shot. Another right hand lands.

Round 6: Hall bullying again in the first minute of the seventh. Hall with an overhand right, then back to the jab, making Jordan expend energy to chase, and then landing a right, then bullying Jordan to the ropes. She's beating her up right now. Jordan is stuck in the corner. Hall hammers away with both hands. Jordan is down in the centre of the ring. She's got nothing left, and the referee stops it.

After:

Denise van Outen: ”Kelly….congratulations. That looked like hot work. Did you underestimate Ola?”

KH:”Not at all. We all saw her push Jenna-Louise last year. I was puffing real hard in the middle of the fight, but I dug deep. It was good to shake off some rust in there.”

DvO:”What does the future hold for you? Are you going to work towards a BBU title shot, or will the lure of a big FCBA payday win out?”

KH:”I don’t believe my team has heard from anyone from the FCBA, but I would listen to all offers.”

DvO:”Coming back to the BBU, who do you fancy a crack at next?

KH:”I’m sure a fight with Lily Allen would put a few bums on seats.”
