Intro:

Melanie Chisholm comes into this fight with a mission, to keep her unbeaten run going and then fight Sarah Harding in a future bantamweight bout.

This whole bout came about as Melanie messaged fans asking them who would they like to see her fight?

The majority said Charlotte Church and Melanie being a woman of her word got her management to arrange this bout.

At the press conference Mel spoke first to the press "first I'd like to say thank you to my fans for coming up with this contest, Charlotte is certainly going to be tough but I'll give my best I promise."

Charlotte smiles at Melanie but then says "if I were you dear, I'd want new fans because they've put you into my den and trust me when I say, us Welsh dragons don't play nice."

Melanie's expression changes to a determined look as she stands up and replies to Charlotte's face "look I'm not a girl who goes out looking for a fight but I'm not afraid of anyone, so don't expect me to play nice in that ring"

Both women go face to face as cameras take photos of this moment as Charlotte whispers for only the two rivals to hear "I'm not some tune-up or some bum off the street, I'm gonna knock you out cold"

Melanie just smiles at that and shoves her body into Charlotte's, who happily goes nose to nose with Mel as the staredown is intense between the two.

After a whole minute, they finally take a step back but continue the stare down till they're told the conference is over.

Fight night, Melanie comes down the ramp first, she's wearing skin tight black sports bra and shorts with matching black shoes and gloves, her hair tied back into a simple ponytail as Melanie is like the female Mike Tyson, she doesn't need bells and whistles on her attire, she'll let her skill do the talking.

Charlotte is out next, she has a red sports bra and white shorts emblazed with a Welsh dragon on both sides, she finishes the look with red shoes and gloves.

The crowd are on Melanie's side as Charlotte training in Barnet certainly doesn't hold any merit in Tottenhams White Hart Lane in bout three of the night.

Both women are ushered to touch gloves, both look stone faced as they stare directly into the others eyes and never blink once.

They touch gloves quite civilly before walking back to their corners, ready for 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:

As the bell rings, neither woman charges at the other as both have a knockout punch to unload when needed.

So instead it's a tactical round, with jabs the main order of this round.

Kate Abdo comments "while Melanie is 12 years Charlotte's senior, she's just so fit that she's almost rates the fittest in the bantamweight division, while Charlotte has had her problems with fitness but comes into this fight looking strong"

Melanie seems to take the risk first by coming forward with a jab/straight combo that Charlotte takes as an invite to really fight.

The two start squaring up more to throw leather as both prefer the upclose and personal approach.

But that doesn't mean they're kamikaze attacking yet, just trading in pockets then disengaging to test each other out.

The bell rings with both women turning to ignore each other as they start thinking of how to proceed in this fight.

Round 2:

Out they come again and Charlotte seems comfortable enough to shout "bring it on bytch!" As she waves in Mel who looks more annoyed than angered by her comment.

The older brunette is still happy to come forward to fight as again the fighting goes to the inside.

The Welsh woman is trying to focus on the head of her English rival as the older brunette works the body of her rival.

This makes for some great clashes as they exchange freely and loud grunts of pain can be heard from both.

One point they both go for a punch and just miss, clashing bodies they clinch up as both looks a little winded from the impact.

Surprisingly to some in the crowd, it's Mel who is forcing Charlotte a step back in this clinch as they push against each other and trade kidney blows.

After being separated, back into the close range fighting they go, showing why both are highly thought of in the BBU by pundits and managers.

The bell rings with Charlotte saying "I can take everything you throw at me Scouse ####"

Melanie just shakes her head as she won't be thrown off her game that easily.

Round 3:

Both again move to the centre of the ring to throw hard leather while circling, now though it seems that Melanie's strength is starting to be a deciding factor as Church is starting to moan under the punches.

Mel manages to shove Charlotte to the ropes as the Welsh lass almost bounces off them to clinch up with her rival.

The ref gets between them but Charlotte with a push makes Mel take a step back as the two women bare their gumshields as if in a warning.

Back they go into the tight pocket with Melanie again landing the cleaner, harder punches to Charlotte's ribs and Kate Abdo wonders "how long can Church take those punches before she needs a breather?"

But to Charlotte's credit, she's landing some hard hooks to Mel's head.

At the bell, you can see Melanie's cheeks getting bruised while Charlotte has bruises around her side.

Round 4:

Charlotte changes tactic somewhat and is trying to overpower Mel with tight clinches.

Almost turning this into a wrestling bout, the two women shove each other around and even at one point fall to the canvas in a heap.

As they get to their knees, Charlotte shoves Mel to the canvas before she stands with her gloves raised,

Shouting down at Mel whose standing to finally lose her temper "get up bytch! So I can put you down for real this time!" As the ref warns her.

Chisholm is up and the two women collide body to body again while throwing wild punches at each other.

The crowd are cheering as both women are locked up with their left arms but still throwing anywhere to the body with the right hand.

They separate apart and circle as the staredown is unreal between these two.

Charlotte lands a hard hook across the nose of Melanie and is rewarded with blood flowing from it.

But Mel for her part is lost to her anger and comes right back at Charlotte with hooks now to the head of Church.

The bell rings with the two waving the other to continue as the ref holds them apart.

Round 5:

Before the bell rings, Mel can be heard saying "I'm bursting you up this round" to which Charlotte replies by starting to come forward till her seconds pull her back.

"Ding" the two fly out and if they can't be too far apart from each other, they rush together again.

Mel is looking to hammer away to the head of Charlotte and the Welsh lass finally has what she wanted, an erratic fighter against her.

Melanie is missing a lot more punches now she's changed target and Charlotte is simply moving enough out of the way of a punch aiming to take her head off and lands stinging jabs to her English rivals face.

More blood is coming from Mel's nose as the ref orders a time out to check it, the doctor says she can continue.

But Charlotte is looking to end the contest now, she fients the jab then follows with a strong right hook that knocks Mel to her behind.

The cockney crowd boo Church as she mocks a stunned Chisholm to stand up.

Melanie checks her noses first to make sure it's still attached to her face as she tries to slow her breathing down as her body is as shocked as her to be down.

The ref is up to 7 before Mel makes it up at 9, he checks her over, wipes her gloves clean and orders the bout to continue.

Charlotte simply flicks the jab out at the guard of Mel to test if the black attired woman is nearly finished and begrudgingly has to admit there seems to be fight left in Melanie.

The bell rings with Mel shaking her head still, trying to clear any remaining fog in her head.

Round 6:

Charlotte is still trying to jab her way to the nose of Mel and force the second doctors stoppage of tonight.

Instead Mel shows her amazing fitness by still being quick enough to dodge most of the punches.

Not to say all as her cheeks are still taking a hammering from Church's punches.

But Mel surprises Charlotte half way through the round with a stiff body punch that makes Church groan again.

This time she doesn't mess around with her punches as she throws less volume of punches but they're accurate as blood can be seen coming from a cut on Charlotte's right cheek now.

Both clinch up as they get close to take a breather, with choice insults being thrown between the two of them.

The bell rings not long after with both slowly separating from each other in case one decides to throw a sneaky punch.

Round 7:

Charlotte can't believe how hard Mel is still hitting for a woman in her early forties, that surprise is made whose soon enough.

Mel lands another combo right/left to the body that almost guts Charlotte as she can be heard gasping after each punch.

She's forced to take a knee as she looks at the canvas through half open eyes due to the pain making her eyes water.

Charlotte makes it up at 8 with a slight stumble but tells the ref that she can still fight.

On she comes with the jab but you can see she's looking uncomfortable when throwing punches now.

The crunching thud can be heard in the stadium as Mel lands a heavy uppercut that sends Charlotte flat out on her back.

"What a punch!" Shouts Kate Abdo as the ref waves the fight off.

Winner: Melanie Chisholm KO round 7

After:

Charlotte is getting checked on by medics as Mel looks at her own gloves wondering where that rage came from.

Part of her wants to lean down to check her opponent but she remembers how Charlotte had acted so decided against that and instead waved to the crowd who cheered her for a great victory.

Kate Abdo comes into the ring as Charlotte is revived and taken back to the locker room for further tests.

Kate pats Mel on her back as the two share a genuine warm smile together before Abdo does her interview.

"Great win Melanie, you looked out of sorts with Charlotte's taunting, how much did it affect you?" Asks Kate as Melanie looks down a little ashamed.

Then replies "I let her to get me, I mean she is a loud mouth bytch" Mel covers her mouth and then says "sorry"

Kate just smiles before saying "trust me, you're not the first to say it and I'd bet you won't be the last"

Mel nods as Kate asks "well you and Harding, is it signed to happen?"

"Well I can safely say I want to fight her, we've both been called the toughest of our girl groups and I think it's time we found out who really is the toughest woman in music."

Kate says "thank you" as the two hug and Abdo gives Mel a standing ovation as Chisholm stands in the middle of the ring and bows to each side as if she's just finished doing a concert.

Betting on Harding and Chisholm is reportedly starting early.
