(Downunder Boxing vs The Metermaids)

Intro:
The opening bout here in the famous Amsterdam ArenA in as the name suggests Amsterdam sees two Australians do battle.
The ACB wanted to be part of this famous card as the BBU holds its first event ever in Holland and what's more historic then being the opening bout on the card.
After much discussion, Jesinta and Dami were picked for a number of reasons.
First both are seen as the future of welterweight boxing in the ACB and they hope the world at large.
Secondly and more importantly to the ACB, they have both been making headlines in their respective fields of work.
Dami not long ago came second in the Eurovision song contest, she was the first ever contestant from Australia and wowed fans with her performances that also saw her win the X-Factor in Australia.

Jesinta on the other hand is a former beauty pageant winner, she was Miss Australia in 2010 and was close to winning Miss Universe that year. 

Now she's signed a major modelling contract with IMG, who also represent a certain Marinda Kerr.
So both come into this contest in high spirits and even though they're from different stables, they both shake hands at the press conference and chat like two old friends instead of people who are going to batter each other.

Jesinta is up to the podium first saying "I can't believe that I'm in Amsterdam right now and fighting a national hero from my country"
Smiling warmly she adds "Dami deserves all the respect in the world for going on stage and singing to people who'd probably not heard her sing but she tore the roof off"
She turns to Dami to say "sadly though I can't take it easy on you when we fight, I have to win as you do but if I do lose, I won't complain I promise."
Dami claps Jesinta as she walks to the podium and even blows a kiss to her future rival.
"Wow Jesinta, you flatter me more than I deserve, I was so overwhelmed to do Eurovision but this moment is close" says Dami as she pauses for a moment to look at Jesinta.
"I mean I get to make history again it's my debut fight and I couldn't ask for a better dance partner, I know you're a tough woman so I'll fight you with my all and I hope I can win"
The face off is friendly but shows the height difference as Jesinta is around 3 inches smaller than Dami who looks giant compared to most women.
The two share a joke before they have to leave the stage for the next two fighters to appear.

Fight night now, Jesinta out first, acting as if she's walking the run way, she struts to the ring in high heels and is wearing a green bikini with matching gloves.
She climbs into the ring and waves to the crowd as she looks physically impressive, rumours are Lauren Eagle the pro boxer has been training her for this fight.
Next out comes Dami, she struts to the ring wearing a white bikini and gloves, she slips a heel off before she gets into the ring to feel the turf on the pitch with her toes and jokes to a security guard "could we have not boxed on the grass"
The heel goes on again and she climbs into the ring before walking to the centre of the ring for a last minute face off.
Both women as if in a ritual kick their heels off to their corners and turn to go nose to nose.
Their faces show that whatever respect they have for the other is put on pause and this is too important a contest to lose.
The ref reads the final instructions as gumshields are placed in each woman's mouth before they touch gloves but both remain stone faced.
10 rounds of welterweight action starts now.

Round 1:
"Ding" both women come out their corners and Dami looks to impose her height on her opponent.
Jabbing away at the smaller Jesinta who is ducking as much as she can to get close to get at Im.
Both exchange stiff jabs early on as the crowd sit up somewhat already as those who'd heard these two prefight would probably have expected no real action.
But these two are showing with these shots that this is not some sparring session between them.
Dami is doing her best at this early stage to try and knock Campbell out with her own gloves by the look of it.
But Jesinta isn't letting her Asian opponent have it her own way as she lands several thudding hooks to the body of Dami.
Georgie Thompson comments "well it's the classic outside fighter against an inside fighter, Jesinta looking to chop the redwood down while Dami hopes to use that jab as a method of attack and defence"
The bell rings with the two bouncing back to their corners ready for more action as they compose themselves for harder rounds.
 

Round 2:
Jesinta comes out the more quicker, showing an impressive athletic side as she's forcing her way through the jab of Dami to work the body.
While Im tries to clinch up but the momentum of Campbell coming forward forces her back to the ropes, where she is uncomfortablely being pinned against with a left forearm pushing her chin to bend her back on the top rope.
The ref separates the two and Dami is desperately using her footwork and her jab to try and stop this juggernaut from getting at her.
But it's not long before she is feeling the green gloves smack into her body and she can feel the air being driven out of her lungs as she clinches again.
This time leaning against Jesinta as she tries to wear her down by forcing her to support her weight.
The bell rings not long after with Dami looking to her corner for advice but all they can give her is "keep her back at all costs"
 

Round 3:
Dami comes out a bit faster this time as she tries to take the ring centre to control this fight.
But the two end up in a slugfest, both trading combos as they try to enforce their power on each other.
In the end the Asian fighter has to take a step back as her body takes another pounding and she's desperately throwing combos to the head of Jesinta while she dances backwards and around her rival.
Campbell is blocking most of the punches as she slows down her forward assault to try to guage how she can get under the arms of this desperate woman she's fighting.
For the first real time in the fight, Dami is enforcing the range but it's more through blind punching then actually landing shots.
Her corner urge her to slow down and get back to using the jab instead of this but Dami isn't focused properly and is stuck in defensive mode.
The bell rings with Dami shaking her arms out and her corner get to work trying to stop her arms cramping.
While Jesinta has a few red marks on her face but is certainly much more happy with how the fights going of the two of them.
 

Round 4:
Dami seems calm again after losing her focus in the last round and wasting punches against her opponent.
Using her footwork to keep to the outside and using the jab and straight punches with less volume but with better accuracy.
She's starting to really control the distance as Jesinta seems much more reserved now in her actions.
The crowd is wondering what's exactly going on.
But after a minute of this action, Campbell starts throwing fients then stepping forward with straights and hooks to the body of Dami, which is starting to bruise her porcelain like skin up.
Im is clinching again as she can't keep Jesinta back unless she fights like a mad woman, which will be counterproductive like the last round.
Separated again, Dami tries coming forward again but Campbell keeps slipping under her opponents punches to land around that body.
The grunts from Dami are getting louder by the moment as she clinches up again to the bell with tears starting to form in her eyes.
 

Round 5:
Jesinta is now on top as she uses her higher work rate and natural speed to get into range to keep landing to her rivals body.
Dami is basically on the defensive now, barely using her jab now except to stop Campbell driving forwards.
Jesinta looks so comfortable now that it makes the crowd wonder if she's drawing this fight out longer than necessary instead of going for the kill.
But it's mostly down to Im fighting for dear life by backpedaling and clinching anytime her opponent gets close to stop any damage.
Near the end of the round, Jesinta manages to shove Dami to the ropes and the thud of the punches on arms and some that get around the guard of the Asian to her body can be heard in the stands.
It's just becoming a beating now as the bell rings and Dami is breathing hard, her corner are checking her over as Jesinta looks on with total focus on what's happening in front of her.

Round 6:
Dami does come out for round 6, which makes Georgie worried as she says "maybe her corner should throw the towel in on her behalf as she's not likely going to turn this around"
Jesinta is quickly at Dami and is laying more hard body shots in till Dami finally is forced to take a knee.
Campbell rushes back to her corner and bounces on her toes, watching Dami for signs of her getting up.
Im is up at 9, she looks slightly unstable but tells the ref she wants to continue.
The ref checks her over and she's barely able to stand straight without the ropes so he waves the fight of and as much as Dami would like to complain, she's just been saved from worse damage.

Winner: Jesinta Campbell TKO round 6

After:
Dami is helped by to her corner to recover while Jesinta smiles and raises her fists to the crowd in celebration.
After they've had their gloves taken off, they are asked to go to the ring centre for the announcement of the winner.
Jesinta gets her hand raised as Dami claps her opponent and the two Aussies shake hands afterwards before Im leaves the ring for Campbell to talk to Georgie Thompson.
"Great win there for you Jesinta, first ever fight the BBU has had in Amsterdam and you beat a girl with big potential quite easily in the end" says Georgie.
Jesinta replies "oh my God! Georgie do you hear them?" The crowd cheer loudly that the noise is echoing outside the stadium.
"This is an amazing venue with awesome people and I respect Dami so much but we both knew this was a must win for our careers, happily I have the win" adds Campbell.
"So when you started the fight against Dami, how did it feel from your point of view, did you feel comfortable?" Asks Georgie.
Jestina says "I had to wire Dami up, I don't want to sound arrogant or upset her but I know in my heart that I'm the fitter of us two, so it was all about working the body to wear her out"
"That you did but were you shocked it lasted as long?" Asks Georgie as Jesinta shakes her head.
"No, I've heard the stories of Dami in sparring getting hammered in the early days, you know how it is when you get your ass kicked because you don't know how to defend yourself properly."
Smiling even more widely Jesinta adds " Dami got her ass whooped countless times I've heard, bloody noses, lips, black eyes and would keep getting up and fighting till the bell, so that's why we were the chosen two in my eyes"
"Well what's next for you?" Asks Georgie as Jesinta replies "maybe I look to find a girl willing to fight me on a beach on the Gold coast or maybe one of those losers in that welterweight tournament I should have been in wants to earn some money, you never know in boxing!"
Jesinta pats Georgie on the back and leaves the ring to applause from the crowd who seem to love this Aussie beauty.
