(Lookout! Atlantic Boxing vs Foxfire Atlantic Boxing)

Intro:
Possibly the biggest rematch in BBU history sees two of the lightweights divisions biggest stars go at it.
The first bout took place on the 27th of March this year and saw the two battle in what pundits are calling a match of the year candidate, will the second be as good or disappoint.
Doutzen won the original by a split decision that several pundits had down as a draw, in fact it's caused great debate amongst pundits which woman truly is the better woman.
After the bout; cries for a rematch flooded the majority of newspapers around the world except the Netherlands who had that Doutzen had proven herself already.
Arguments leapt into social media and T.V interviews as Malika claimed that Doutzen had gave her word for a rematch, while Kroes said that she'd never said that and Malika was politicking for a rematch.
After much disagreement between the two stables, Kroes stable felt they had gave Doutzen a major advantage by getting the rematch in Holland.
But several pundits believe from talking to Malika that she'd fight Doutzen in Kroes own back garden if it means she has a chance at the title.

The build up for the fight was as equally bitter, both held open training sessions with Kroes attaching a poster of Malika to a punch bag with "La petite Malika written on to show what she was going to do to Doutzen.
While Malika had hired a blonde sparring partner who looked a little like Doutzen to beat up.
Even at the weigh in tempers flared as insults were traded in person and if not for security, probably fists would have followed.

Fight night, Malika comes out with stablemate and fellow French woman Laury Thilleman; whose carrying the French flag which causes nearly the entire Amsterdam ArenA to boo the pair.
Malika enters the ring wearing her famous blue one piece swimsuit she wore for the Miss Universe pageant with matching blue shoes and gloves; her hair is braided for battle.
The next thing heard is a deafening cheer as Doutzen Kroes bounces onto the entrance ramp with the Dutch flag draped across her back.
Her great friend and fellow Dutch woman Yasmin Verheijen walks to the ring with her holding the title belt aloft for the stadium to see.
Entering the ring, Doutzen is wearing an orange one piece swimsuit, boots and gloves, while her hair is also braided for this fight.

The Dutch national anthem plays before the fight which all parties respect then the introductions are made.
"In the blue corner; she weighed in at 124.5lbs, she comes to us from Rennes, France, her record is 17 wins, 13 by way of knockout and 5 losses, please welcome Malika Menard!"
Again the crowd mostly boo the French woman who simply stands and stares at Doutzen with pure anger.
"Now in the red corner, the lightweight Champion, she weighed in at 126lbs, she comes from Eastermar Holland, her record is 10 wins, 9 by knockout and 3 losses, Doutzen Kroes!"
The crowd erupt again as the champ pumps her fist to the crowd and Yasmin does a lap around the ring holding the title belt up.
The ref orders both women to come to the ring centre for the final instructions; both fighters go nose to nose as they trade insults in their native tongues.
The ref orders a touch of gloves which the two do with a hard bump to signal their ready for 10 rounds of lightweight title action.

Round 1:
"Ding" the bell sounds and both women head straight for each other, Doutzen is already closing down the distance as Malika throws the jab early while using her impressive footwork to move around the champ.
But Doutzen isn't interested in a long affair as she fights her way inside to land her first hard hook of the fight that Menard takes well, showing that steely chin that had pundits questioning, can the hardest lightweight puncher knockout her rival.
Malika continues to rough up the champ with that jab but Kroes isn't just going to stand and take it as she guards well to move forwards.
Again Doutzen gets to the inside and both are happy to sit and trade as the crowd are up and cheering for their Dutch hero.
Malika seems to admit a small defeat early in this bout as she dances backwards to throw a stiff combo to the face of Doutzen who doesn't look fazed either.
The blonde champ again shuts the ring off and this time shoves her rival back with the left jab before landing two thudding right hooks to the side of the body that cause the French beauties face to grimance in pain.
Quickly she clinches up to stop getting damaged badly early as Kroes tries to wrestle free and the two women can be heard spitting insults as Doutzen is pushing Malika hard against the ropes with her body.
The ref orders break and they slowly pull apart with fists raised in case the other tries something.
As the order to fight is shouted; again they stand and trade to the bell with both landing a punch after the bell and staring at the other with faces that say come on then.

Round 2:
Doutzen comes out quickly again to try and hurt Malika as she couldn't do it in the first fight and that fight was too close for comfort for her.
Problem is that the French woman is ducking and diving out of thunderous punches to land at will with her jab and straight.
Her volume of punches is a lot less than Doutzen's but is certainly more accurate as she dodges around her Dutch opponent to land to her face or body.
The crowd are getting worried as Doutzen is getting shown up by the more technical savvy Malika.
It gets that bad that Kroes is backed up to the ropes under a jab/straight/right hook combo, that the crowd scream at her to do something.
She decides to clinch as this time Menard wants to pay her back for the scrubbing against the ropes her back suffered in the last round.
Malika is showing a cruel smile as they are ordered to break and when they resume, she continues to prove elusive and yet so dangerous with her punches.
Kroes does finally manage to catch her at the end of the round with her first real punch of the round landing flush in the left side of Menard's body.
The bell rings to Doutzen turning around and screaming in frustration as her corner work on her reddening face and her friend Yasmin is doing her best with words of encouragement to calm her down.
Malika looks pleased with herself after such a dominant round and her stablemate and friend Laury praises her.

Round 3:
Malika confidently comes out looking to build on that last round as Kroes looks to recover the fight already.
That jab is still the main weapon of Malika but now Kroes is using her extra weight and strength to take the punch to shove her way through to her rivals body.
Thudding shots land to the body again as the Dutch girl looks like she wants her fist to be on the other side of Malika's body.
The brunette is grunting loudly under the punches but is still apply to land some effective punches of her own to her opponents face as both are looking to hurt the other badly.
But Doutzen is starting to force the French girl backwards now and forcing her rival to have to stand and trade, instead of dancing backwards.
The stadium is electric as noise is coming from every seat in the stands cheering the action while Yasmin and Laury shout for their girls to crush the other; that leads to a heated stare between those two who've fought before.
Kroes lands a heavy right cross to the cheek of Malika and swelling can be seen forming.
Menard is forced to her own corner as the two trade heavy shots then Malika gets the clinch again and surprises the crowd by shoving her rival back a few steps until they're nearly back to the ring centre.
The bell rings and they separate again with Malika looking serious again as Doutzen reminds her she's in the fight of her life.

Round 4:
Malika starts off quickly again as she seeks to regain control of the fight but she's getting caught up more in slugging exchanges instead of getting her legs to motor her around.
Forehead to forehead; they're piling shots to each others sides with hooks to force the air from the others lungs.
But it forces both to take a step back after a moment to compose themselves for the next rally.
The blue corner of Malika are shouting the tactics out in French for her alone to her over the sea of Dutch people chanting Kroes name.
Menard must be able to discern their voices under the sea of chants as she gets back to that jab and straight combo from earlier to make Kroes second guess her forward charges.
For the first time, you can see bruising forming around the right eye of Doutzen from the jabs being so deadly early from Malika.
But back comes Doutzen with a hard straight of her own through the mitts of her rival to her nose.
Malika knees buckle slightly more from being stunned then seriously hurt and Kroes lands two more hard body shots to end the round.
The intense looks on their faces tell you how hard this is for both women as Georgie wonders "what will it take to separate these two?"

Round 5:
Kroes looks determined to mark her stand now as she moves across the ring to cut off the space for a slightly stunned Menard, that Kroes could move so fast across the canvas as if it were round 1.
The blonde warrior has her guard high as she parries the jab of her brunette enemy until she gets close enough to land some hard body shots again.
The groans from Malika can be heard all the way back in France as she covers up and is forced back to the ropes.
For the first real time in this bout Malika is in some real trouble.
The Dutch crowd roar with each punch landed to Malika's body, who is trying her best to block as much as she can and keep her jab going to make it somewhat a fight, just a one sided affair.
Managing to clinch; the crowd groan as they thought their champion had beaten Malika now.
Both women's breathing can be heard to be quicker but these are two of the fittest lightweights to go with the other accolades they both share.
As they're separated again; Kroes again forces Menard backwards in what is becoming a one sided round like she had to experience earlier in the fight.
Malika is having to accept she's being powered to the ropes by Doutzen and has to block as much damage as she can.
The bell rings with Doutzen raising her gloves above her head as she goes nose to nose with her rival.
Neither woman blinks as they try to show the other their spirits are not broken at this stage until the ref pushes them away to their corners.

Round 6:
Both women are becoming sick of the site of each other as they scrowl across at what are becoming wrecks of once proud women.
As they come out, Malika seems happy to be pushed to the ropes by Doutzen who is throwing some heavy hooks to try and batter Malika into submission once and for all and be done with her forever.
The French woman is stuck to the ropes moving her guard around to try and deflect the shots then clinching to get off them.
The crowd believe that Doutzen has got her woman now and this time it'll be over.
Then a pin drop could be heard in the stadium; in the ring Doutzen was sitting on her behind with her eyes blinking and her nose bleeding while Malika danced to a corner.
Seconds before Doutzen had her prey stuck to the ropes buy like a mouse not noticing the trap it's running into, she missed the opening of the trap door and Malika's hard straight landing squarely on her nose through her own lax guard.
The ref is counting as Doutzen rubs her nose to see the blood and looks to her corner for answers on what just happened.
The ref is up to 7 before Doutzen looks at him and pushes herself up timely at 9 to beat tgr count.
Getting checked over, the blonde boxers mind seems to finally catch up with her to the turn of events and before she knows it, she's fending off an attacking Menard.
Being forced back to the ropes herself, the noise of support for her to get off the ropes is simply phenomenal to any neutral like Georgie in the stadium.
Somehow she manages to clinch up with the brunette who screams over her shoulder that now she hasn't finished Doutzen off.
Kroes is squarely on the defensive as she guards herself and clinches to try and recover.
The bell rings to save her and she slumps down to her stool in disgust at herself for losing focus.
Yasmin in her corner lifts her friends help up as her corner goes to work on her face to tell Doutzen "keep fighting! You knew this was going to be more punishment but you can win this"
Malika doesn't smile even after that round as this is too important a fight to let her guard down like Doutzen did.

Round 7:
Malika doesn't charge forwards to end this, instead she takes her time to try to pick her punches.
But Kroes is guarding well as she tries to get her mind rebooted fully so she can take the fight back to the French woman.
The main target for the brunette of course is the nose of Doutzen which is still slowly trickling blood.
But the blonde is guarding it with her dear life as she keeps her guard high which leaves her body open.
Malika happily trades shots with Doutzen now as she lands some thudding hooks to the body of her opponent, who is throwing jabs in return as she doesn't want to open up too much.
The crowd still hasn't recovered from her earlier knock down, so they're not as loud as before.
The sight of these two sweat drenched Goddesses waging war is one no one in the stadium will ever forget.
Doutzen does manage to land a hard left hook that seems to rattle Malika who pushes on with a jab/straight combo to the nose of Doutzen whose starting to tear up.
Georgie isn't a fan of Malika's tactics as she continues to watch the war in front of her and is waiting for the killing blow.
"Malika's biggest issue that lost her the first fight was not finishing the fight when she was on top, is the pressure getting to her again?" Asks Georgie as the bell rings.
Malika struts somewhat to her corner to show everyone she feels in charge, but it's not what's important to her, it's winning that title, she can almost feel it and she hates herself for thinking that before this is over.

Round 8
Doutzen's corner will her to fight on the front foot again as even in her country, she can't expect a decision result if she doesn't give the judges any ammo.
After that speech from her corner it's not long till she's back on the front foot with anger in her eyes and a target in her own mind.
Malika again tries to jab away at her opponent but this time is met with a head hunting assault as Doutzen is after the bruised and swelling right eye of the French beauty.
The thud of glove on the damaged area is sickening as Malika cries out in pain while she goes down on her side
The crowd erupt, people are hugging in the stands as they count along with the ref while Doutzen lays on the ropes in the corner catching her breath.
The crowd are up to 8 as Malika gets up at 9 and there's a unified groan heard across the arena and most likely Holland.
The ref checks Malika who has a cut under her right eye and a doctor is ordered to check how bad it is, giving both women a rest.
Kroes is hating herself but urging the doctor silently to stop the fight now so she can keep her title.
The doctor says it should be OK for the last few rounds and the ref orders the women to fight.
Doutzen shakes her head then quickly wades into Malika who is back on the ropes just flicking the jab out again to keep herself active enough that the ref can't jump in and stop the fight.
Malika even scores a somewhat lucky punch to the nose of Doutzen again that backs her rival up enough to clinch up with her.
Both women look like they've went 20 rounds instead of 8 as the bell comes and the fighters begrudging let go of each other with looks of jealousy starting to show in their eyes with every other emotion like anger, hart and respect.

Round 9:
Out comes Doutzen looking to end it now as she nearly tackles Malika back to try and unload.
But it ends in an early tired clinch as both women are running on fumes somewhat from this fight.
Kroes is managing to land some hard body shots but nearly trips up as Menard tries to turn her around to shove her against the ropes.
The ref gets in between as he wants to keep the action going to stop it getting into a hugfest.
The crowd are vocal again as surely their voices must be getting as tired as the fighters themselves.
The champ presses forward with hard body shots as Malika is gasping over her shoulder as she starts firing back with hard body shots of her own and the two clinch up again.
Both can be heard whispering to each other in their own language as either they are trading insults that only them know or they are just talking as both seem to share an ironic smile before they get pushed apart.
Again Doutzen lands a hard punch to that cut of Malika at the bell, causing the brunette to scream out in pain and hold her cheek.
Both fighters friends rush into the ring to help them back to their stools as their seconds work on them to patch them up for the final round.

Round 10:

Both women come to the ring centre as the bell rings and touch gloves to show respect for one another as this is the moment of truth.
Throwing caution to the wind; Malika charges forward with what remaining strength she has left to try and get the knockout as she doesn't believe that she can win on the scorecards.
Slugging it out, the fighters throw everything at each other as they rock each other around the ring early in the round.
Then Menard lands a heavy handed straight to that bloody nose of the champ who rocks backwards.
The next thing Doutzen knows is she's back on her back in tears as she's knocked down again.
The crowd are urging her to get up as she sits up and now it's Malika who hopes she stays down for the count.
But as Doutzen gets up at 9; the challenger is desperate to get back at her but the ref has to hold her back as she shoves at him and he warns her to settle down or be disqualified.
She apologizes to the ref as Doutzen justs several extra moments to recover with blood from her nose running down her lips now.
After being checked, the is on again and the champ seems to be on autopilot, instead of taking her time and trying to see the round out.
Now she believes she needs the knockout and starts bashing back Menard under a sea of punches.
Getting her feet back Malika manages to dodge some tired punches and lands a hook to the left side of Doutzen's face.
Kroes is wobbling as she falls to the ropes and Malika like a cobra strikes as she pounds the champ.
Time seems to stand still as the ref watches closely then suddenly he pulls Malika off Doutzen.
Then it becomes clear what's happening as Doutzen is just leaning on the ropes out in her feet as her eyes are glazed over, the ref waves the fight off.

Winner and New BBU lightweight champion; Malika Menard TKO round 10

After:
Malika falls to her knees as she cries her eyes out as Doutzen's corner with her friend Yasmin charge out to get the former champion back to her stool.
Laury Thilleman rushes in to kneel next to Malika and hug her as the crowd look on stunned at the sight of one of their national heroes being defeated.
Getting her gloves taken off by Laury, Malika finally gets to hold the belt as Laury shouts "La Grande Malika!" "La Grande Malika!" In a one woman chant.
Doutzen is finally back on this planet and is sobbing now she knows her title is gone.
Laury helps the champ to stand up and hold her title belt above her head as she slowly does a lap of honour to the crowds displeasure.
But Malika is probably picturing herself in front of a Paris crowd holding the title instead.
As she gets to Doutzen's corner, the two rivals share a glance as they try to work out what to do.
Doutzen would love to tackle Malika and beat her with her taped fists for taking her title, while the champ would want to prove her dominance by pulling Kroes to the ground and standing on her.
Instead they share a handshake but both look hard into the others eyes as if telling the other this is far from over by a long shot.

But as Malika is about to continue her lap; Yasmin Verheijen steps in front of her and before Thilleman gets herself involved, Menard holds her hand out to stop her friend from attacking Yasmin.
The staredown between Yasmin and Malika is intense until Verheijen turns to the title belt, then back to Malika, who simply nods that someday the two will probably fight for the title.
Then Yasmin gets out of Malika's way to allow her to continue as she helps Doutzen out the ring.
Malika mounts a corner post to show the title off as Georgie asks "how long can the La Grande Malika era last in a growing lightweight division and with Kroes herself probably wanting revenge someday?"
