Rachel: 37 YO, 5’4 (1.63 m), 45-33-1 since 2005, Foxfire Boxing
Olivia: 32 YO, 5’7 ˝ (1.71 m), 23-11-0 since 2009, Bazz Fight Club

Before:  “I have to say I am a little disappointed,” Olivia Wilde at the pre-fight press conference. “Here I had always thought of Rachel McAdams is really big, tough red-hair who has been Bantam Champion four times. What do I find when I meet her? This blonde who is three inches shorter than me! Just goes to show you can’t judge someone by their clips. Oh well, Li’l Rache vs going down once Big Livy gets her in the ring. Seriously, this is a big bout for me.  I want another title fight myself and beating Rachel especially with her coming off beating Emily VanCamp—I’m going to be great position for a fight shot. So I am out to win this fight and win it decisively. Sorry Rachel, but you’re my stepping stone and I am headed up.”

Rachel sitting at the table drumming her finger during Olivia’s time at the podium. Once she gets her turn she bows in Olivia’s direction: “My apologies, Ms, Wilde, I always try to make up for the disappointment of not looking intimidating by actually being intimidating. You might ask Emily VanCamp about that. I have to tell you that you aren’t the only one with plans for a shot at that title. So, you see, ‘Big Livy-- ‘Li’l Rachel’ is going to be using you as the stepping stone.”
Olivia gives Rachel an insincere smile and says: “I can’t wait.”

Come fight night, we find Rachel in a dark red one piece with a golden R over her left breast. She’s got golden gloves with matching boots. Her blonde hair piled up on top on her head. She is flashing a winning smile as she makes her way to the ring and makes a point of looking bored when Olivia Wilde makes her entrance. This is quite unfair, as Olivia in in a sexily cut black one piece with a silver OLIVIA stitched across the seat. Black gloves and boots with silver laces. Silver ribbon intertwined in an elaborate battle braid of dark hair down her back. She gives Rachel a sneering look and bodies up close to make sure everyone sees Rachel is the smaller woman. Rachel just stands there right arm on her hip looking contemptuous. Wow! Not much love in this ring tonight! Referee nervously hurries through the instructions, though both fighters restrain themselves and give only a proper token glove touch before going to their corners. Steely glares seem to say both are saving further hostility for the fight. Oops! The bell rings! It’s on!

R1: Both fighters noted for their sleek, elegant style and they both come gliding out to mid ring, circling and stabbing out probing shots. Just as quickly Olivia Wilde seizes the initiative with a pounding attack on Rachel’s right side ribs. She just keeps circling around firing away like Rachel’s got a bullseye painted there. Rachel trying to out-shift the brunette and get some good counters into that opposing body, but Olivia’s just as shifty and she’s continuing to attack those ribs. Rachel’s being forced to protect those ribs which reduces her counterpunch rate and then Olivia suddenly goes for some straight shots over Rachel’s high guard to strike her eyebrow ridge and forehead. Rachel looking confused but jabs back to make Olivia feel it in the chest and sternum before planting a hook in her stomach. Olivia bit liking this but hangs close, bibbing and weaving to be an evasive target as she goes in hammering Rachel’s body  straight in to the bell. Round goes to Olivia Wilde by a solid margin.

R2: Rachel better prepared as Olivia’s attack resumes in the second stanza. The brunette gets some heavy jabbing to the stomach and chest. Rachel even able to sneak in a quick snapping punch off Olivia’s chin. Olivia’s advance thwarted for the moment, but she circles and counter-circles before going back after those right-side ribs of McAdams. Rachel’s feeling the bruising as she tries to be evasive even while firing back. Olivia then mixes up her attack by going to the belly and then launching a surprise head shot that catches Rachel just over the right eye. Rachel recoils and blood is seen seeping from the rapidly swelling flesh of her right eyebrow, Olivia hungrily goes after the injured eyebrow. Rachel ducks down and puts up a fierce jabbing, one of which slips through to hit the bridge of Olivia’s nose and make the brunette shudder. Two then circle and lash out to the bell, Judges give it to Olivia again, but by a much narrower margin,

R3: Both fighters are off their stools hard and fast. Still have some nice footwork and defensive body movement, but as the time ticks away, this turns more and more into punching battle. Olivia trying to work in close to go after Rachel’s body (especially those right ribs, trying to use the size differential to force Rachel back. Rachel digging in and firing back at short range into Olivia’s body. Rachel then varies this late with overhand lefts and rights into Olivia’s head, Just enough to keep Olivia ducking and rattle senses as the round blazes on. Olivia seems to lose some energy late and hunches us under McAdams belly hook. Comes out as a close Rachel McAdams round, her first of the bout.

R4: Olivia evidently not happy about Rachel’s offensive efforts last round. She comes out and makes a determined effort to thwart the Foxfire veteran with a wicked jabbing defense. Rachel stubbornly keeps attacking, trying get passed the covering jabs, but she is hit hard to the face and head and her offensive finally sputters out as the cut over her right eye is reopened. Once she has Rachel stopped, Olivia comes roaring back with a hard punching attack on Rachel’s ribs and plenty of threatening leather aimed at that eyebrow cut. Rachel using her own jab, but she is forced to back away to protect her aching ribs and hurt eyebrow. Olivia in a crisp pursuit can’t quite catch Rachel, but she ensures she’ll have the superior points on the cards and wins the round easily. Rachel looking frazzled, her top knot is coming undone and tendrils of hair are trickling down her face. So is the little trail of blood from her right eyebrow. Rachel breathing hard but maintains a steady walk to her stool. Olivia smiling slightly at the progress of her fight.

R5: Foxfire’s veteran corner people working skillfully to repair the damage to Rachel as trainer Virginia Madsen offers her fighter some advice, Rachel nodding solemnly. When the bell rings, Rachel lets Olivia come in, but then Rachel suddenly strikes at her chin and jaw with a flurry of rights and lefts. Olivia clearly caught by surprise is sent stumbling back as Rachel springs after her. Rachel now pounding midsection as Olivia has her gloves raised to protect her head. Olivia doubled up and driven back to the ropes. Rachel pounding away at Olivia’s stomach before the brunette can grab her in a clinch that looks more like a desperate bear hug. Referee has to pull them apart. Rachel goes right back at the dazed Olivia and she’s knocked the sides of her head around, Olivia is suddenly confused and ineffective on defense. She can only keep backing up and avoiding being trapped on the ropes again.  Late in the round Rachel’s belly punching finally pulls down Olivia’s guard and she gets some good shots into the mouth and nose of the brunette, Blood coming from one nostril as the fight ends. Olivia looking around foggily to locate her corner. Foxy smile on Rachel’s face at the sight.

R6:  Now it is the Bazz corner’s turn to try to match up their battered fighter. Olivia looking around with a foggy expression, but won’t hear of any talk about throwing in the towel. She shakes her head as she rises for the 6th round and tries to buy herself some recovery time this stanza. No such luck. Rachel McAdams is now all fired up and moving quickly to keep Olivia muddled and off-balance. Initial shots to the body, but then the bobbing and weaving Rachel sees a gap and CRUNCH! Right hook crashes into Olivia Wilde’s temple and she stumbles forward before crashing onto to all four next to the ropes. Rachel watching coolly from neutral corner as Olivia uses the ring ropes to help rise and beat the count. Ref looks very doubtful about letting this go on, but Olivia insists she can. The official waves Rachel in and it quickly becomes clear that Rachel is not going to be stopped. She quickly drives Olivia to the ropes, pounding her midsection until she can get at the brunette’s head. Olivia desperately sliding along the ropes, but can’t get away from her tormentress. Then Rachel gets her pinned and just starts battering Olivia’s head from side to side as ringsiders scream for the fight to be stopped. An instant later the referee throws himself in front of Olivia who sags into the man’s. Rachel wipes the some stray hairs out of her eyes and smiles as she realizes the fight is OVER!

The Winner: Rachel McAdams TKO6.

After: Rachel McAdams eagerly takes first opportunity to shed her gloves and get over to take a woozy, distraught Olivia Wilde on a Walk of Shame. Olivia looking mortified can’t hold back the tears of disappointment as she dragged along by the smaller woman’s practiced grip around her waist. Rachelo flashing big smiles at every stop until she returns the beaten Olivia to her Bazz handlers.
“Wasn’t that great!” Rachel exults to the press in the ring, a towel thrown over her head and shoulders. “First Ems and now Big Livy. 2016 is turning out to be a great year for me. I tell you now: I am going to get a title shot and I am going to become the champ AGAIN. FIVE TIMES CHAMP! Won’t that be great!”

Understandably, Olivia Wilde doesn’t speak to press until later in the BFC dressing rooms. She shakes her head and admits: “I cannot believe she could turn things around so fast—but she did. No wonder she’s had those belts four times. Still, I think I could have beaten her. I know I was wearing her down especially in those ribs. A couple more rounds and she would have had to give it up. Only it didn’t happen fast enough, Maybe that’s the lesson for me in this. I only know I am very disappointed and want to make up for this loss with a win as soon as I can!”

Very good bantamweight boxing tonight. Rachel might well have demonstrated that the way to stop someone from wearing you down is knock them out first. Olivia and Rachel showed good stuff, but Rachel’s experience and toughness may have allowed her to hang on take advantage when she saw her chance to nail Olivia. Could there be a title shot in Rachel McAdams’ future? Sure looks that way now. As for Olivia. She’ll been set back, but she’s bound to return to contention before long. Bantam fans should have much to look forward to this summer.
