NINA AGDAL vs MIRANDA KERR

Live from Staples Center, Los Angeles, California.

Nina Agdal (Denmark) vs Miranda Kerr (Australia)
(FCBA: 0-2) vs (FCBA: 3-1, 3 KO, BBU: 7-0, 6 KO, ACB/AWUBA: 4-0, 3 KO)
VIXENs vs Downunder Boxing
Results: Lookout! / Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Nina Agdal was set to become Denmark's #1 fighter in the FCBA until Danish-American Karlie Kloss arrived to dominate the New Blood Welterweight event and stun elite contender Bianca Kajlich in the follow up last month. There was immediate talk of the two blondes clashing gloves in the fall to settle the looming dispute but then Agdal decided she's not making the catchweight contest her priority after all before ducking the 'coward' twitter hashtag with signing to a fight with former ACB/BBU bantam & lightweight champion Miranda Kerr AND a blockbuster move to the newly formed VIXENs stable.

Agdal booked this fight while still riding the free agency mojo but ESPN's Erin Andrews reckons something was on the cards much earlier. It's a curious coincidence the Vixens deal was announced less than 24 hours before her Staples Center bow against one of the most feared models around the world right now.

Miranda Kerr has long been confined to her native Australian shores before making her name in the UK-based BBU where she dominated the 130 lbs division. She openly tells Erin Andrews the lack of respect shown to the models under the previous FCBA front office kept her away from the American soil but those concerns are long gone now. The arrival of numerous Sports Illustrated beach bunnies & Victoria's Secret angels seems to only confirm the fact the modelling pool thrives on the long-desired elite exposure. "People will do anything to watch hot babes like Nina and me duke it out in the ring. But of course I'm still the hottest model property outside of Kate Upton right now. There were some questions about Brooklyn Decker but I settled that feud in m last outing, didn't I?"

Indeed, Kerr comes off a jaw-dropping stoppage of Brooklyn Decker while Agdal still searches for her maiden FCBA victory after going down to Serinda Swan and Barbara Palvin in two previous attempts. Anything but a scorching kangaroo beating would be an upset tonight but Miranda's marvellous run of results (one defeat in 13 fights across three federations) surely must be coming to an end soon?

Nina Agdal wears a red bikini set with white cross painted on each cup and white gloves. Long dark blonde hair tied in a loose ponytail. Miranda Kerr wears a golden bikini top, green knickers and matching green gloves. Long light brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Nina wants to start her Vixens career on a high note and squares up to the Aussie like she's unaware of her mouth-watering record, it actually does the trick in the opening round as she catches the older model with a couple of juicy hooks and cleans out the tummy for a good measure which reels Kerr on the back foot and allows the Danish babe to keep her foot on the gas. A solid jabbing combo exchange follows but Nina's tuned in for an aggressive stance and zips past Kerr's guard to connect with the lips and snap the head back in the proccess. It's only this shot that makes Miranda realize her rival isn't going to roll over for her anytime soon but it's too late to derail the Danish train by now as Agdal rips more punches into the Aussie breadbasket and wobbles the ACB/BBU veteran in a significant fashion that catches ESPN's Erin Andrews by surprise.

Round 2:
More aggressive jabbing from the Dane forces Kerr into avoiding circles and questions her approach against the Vixens fighter. Erin Andrews tries to blame Miranda's sluggish start on a jetlag but it's only speculation and there's nothing that stops Agdal from cleaning out her foe's tummy in the opening minute before Kerr's clinching effort finally halts the European striking storm. Both models wrestle each other in the center of the ring without significant progress but Nina breaks the stalemate with another sharp hook to the guts and Erin Andrews begins to wonder if that's a masterplan that the Vixens put in motion? Whatever the case, Nina doesn't look like your casual free agency cannon fodder anymore as she blasts Miranda butt-in-ropes in the dying seconds and only gets stifled when her uppercut switch bounces off the guard to deny her at the bell.

Round 3:
Miranda hasn't charted her past bantamweight agility into any use thus far but she finally triggers the bendy plan to avoid immediate trouble in the third. Nina keeps going forward yet doesn't find the early success and struggles to make her efforts count in mid distance. Two leggy babes swing & miss more often than not here but it's still the match-up for the ages as far as the Staples Center crowd is concerned. Down the stretch, Nina becomes a little annoyed she can't track the Aussie model down but doesn't really blow her gasket either and settles into shadowing Miranda's circles but the ammount of power punches drops dramatically and leaves the round score wide open for the taking.

Round 4:
The Danish blonde looks to resume the stalking approach but fails to match the Aussie footwork and has to endure another trying period of Kerr's bendy brigade so often seen in bantams-turned-lightweights. Agdal reverts into single punches over the top but Miranda's defensive stanza literally brushes it aside before a proper counterpunching switch finally puts the Danish babe into trouble. Miranda lets it fly over the top herself and finds the younger model's mouth before adding a rifle hook on the temple that spins Nina onto the ropes. As impressive as the Vixens girls looked on offense, that was a bad moment for her and thankfully Kerr didn't expect such a major wobble from her too - otherwise she'd trap her on the ropes and cleaned out shop but the brief hesitation allows Nina to circle away into safety.

Round 5:
Nina needs to dig into her experience a bit now - that's if she had any to begin with - to avoid Kerr from gaining too much momentum. The previously trigger-happy approach has been neutralised by the Aussie's elite level mobility and the slow start is quickly forgotten now that the former Ice Hotel Queen racks up punches on the fly and dents the Danish blonde's confidence. Whatever the plan Vixens had to upstage the fellow model needs immediate reboot but Agdal simply gets tangled up in the flurry of Miranda's punches from mid distance and when she gets smacked a couple of times on the mouth, she wilts under pressure and seeks a clinching escape. It looks like Kerr's larger-than-life status has finally taken over as she bullies the hitherto impressive Dane back to the ropes and spikes her to the gut to maintain the clear upper-hand all the way through.

Round 6:
Agdal can't bide her time in mid distance, effectively playing second fiddle to Kerr's mobility all night. She realizes the only opportunity to knock the Aussie babe down is to attack her at any cost but it spells boxing suicide at the very same time. Just give credit to Nina though, she bravely scampers through the Aussie leather rush and secures the momentum-halting jabbing series to the body that worked so well earlier in the fight. Miranda gets a little vocal while trying to shake the younger model from such a gruesome phone booth-like exchange but eats a harpoon strike on the liver area and yields real estate which gives new hope to the entire Vixens camp. Nina continues to hassle the stubborn rival for remainder of the round but Miranda's too fast on her toes to fall for another trap and basically lets Agdal wear herself out a little in a fruitless pursuit.

Round 7:
More jabbing barrage sets the tone early in the seventh but as Nina's groans become louder and louder, her execution falters again and has her banging wasteful punches against the forearms, Miranda dances around on her toes to avoid the Danish rush before ROCKING the blonde upstart with a clubbing uppercut to the jaw. Nina tries not to scream too much but she really felt that stinger and immediately reverted into clinching respite. Miranda looks annoyed for the very first time tonight but she knows she has her foe in dire straits and makes the most out of that spanking the aching Dane to the body. Agdal's yelps are getting too loud for comfort as she gets battered down stairs however she can't shake the Aussie off and allows Kerr to thump her against the turnbuckle late; the round ends with the Aussie veteran lashing out to the gut and sinking a visibly hurting Nina on jelly knees.

Round 8:
Nina's tank is officially empty, she just couldn't maintain the high-tempo performance for more than twenty minutes of pure action and gets stacked up to the body seconds into the eight as Miranda reigns supreme in the fitness department which comes as no surprise to anyone who's followed her career thus far. The relentless gut-checking drive breaks down Agdal's resilience who needed more than sixty seconds of interval to regain any of her juice back. Too late now as Kerr dissects her midriff and sinks her lower and lower on extremely unstable legs... Nina's glued to the spot and as she drops her cover for good, the money punch lands on the exposed chin - CHOPPING THE DANISH BABE down onto her left side... Talk about wearing your opponent out here! Miranda nods back to the Staples Center crowd and smiles at Downunder Boxing head coach Nikki Visser but it's not over yet! Nina refuses to drift away into KO daze on her Vixens debut and beats the count at nine... might as well stop it now, ref! Apparently the crowd wants to see the Danish model get banged up more and the Visser & Kerr tandem won't mind that either... Nina's turned into the sacrificial lamb and she didn't really deserve that after a stubborn performance on the night but neither Erin Andrews nor Tess Valmore are calling the shots here... KERR CRANKS IT UP and renders Agdal's head spinning back & forth as she slams more face-busting punches without any response whatsoever... this has 'lights out' KO finish written all over it and sire enough, it takes six additional punches to send the proud Danish model sleeping on the canvas like a baby. Brutal KO8 Miranda Kerr!!!

AFTER: Upon signing with the Vixens Nina Agdal vowed to go after one Brooklyn Decker, well, she just got knocked unconscious by the woman who actually beat Decker in her previous fight so it speaks volumes about the quality of the opposition here on the night. Miranda looks slightly concerned about Nina's well-being but the medics give the Downunder camp thumbs up so the victorious model can officially celebrate with coach Visser and GM Elle MacPherson up in the VIP lounge now. This has been another trademark Kerr performance which follows the best known Missy Peregrym & Odette Annable (Yustman) script from the past decade or so. Of course it's the Kerr script if one comes from the AWUBA background but it warrants a Nobel Prize in boxing regardless. Moreover, Erin Andrews wouldn't mind seeing Miranda go after Peregrym next - or vice versa if Paris Hilton knows a thing or two about selling a Main Event PPV spot! Now that would be a Boxing World Magazine cover-making story no matter of the outcome! Watch this space!

Final result: Miranda Kerr def. Nina Agdal KO8.
