MIRANDA KERR VS RACHEL NICHOLS

Results: Lookout  Writing: Archer

Miranda:  33 YO, 5’9 (1.75 m), 3-1-0 (FCBA) since 2015, Downunder Boxing
Rachel: 36 YO, 5’10 (1.78 m), 27-28-1 since 2005. Foxfire Boxing

Before: International supermodel Australian Miranda Kerr and former model turned actress Rachel Nichols eye each other in the pre-fight, Although this will mark their first meeting, both have resumes that include “Queen of the Ice Hotel” honors.

“I enjoy a good Ice Hotel bout, especially when I win and get to stuff snow into the panties of the sniveling loser I just beat,” says Miranda with a smile, “but lately I’ve been thinking I should build up my regular ring bouts. I think I got off to a pretty good start getting a TKO on Brooklyn Decker, but now I want to move up to Rachel. She’s been a Lightweight Champion and has plenty of experience. So taking her out will definitely prove I am more than a novelty act around this fed.”

Rachel Nichols takes her turn at the podium and comments: “Personally, Miranda, I liked stuffing MY defeated opponents into a snowbank with their poor legs kicking in the air while the rest of gets to feel like an ice cube.” (Miranda smiles knowingly and nods in agreement). “That said, there is not going to be any snow in this ring. So it will just be you and me. Maine vs Australia. I think you just won’t be able to deal with what I can dish out. You may think you can move up by fighting me., but I am here to tell you, is all you’ll get is a kick down the rankings ladder.”

“Perhaps,” Miranda observes, “but you haven’t done it yet.”

Not so much hostility as determination in the air as the two long-limbed beauties meet in the ring. Miranda has chosen a lacy green with gold trim bra and bikini panties set . Rachel is in a red satin bra and briefs. Green boxing slippers for Miranda. Red slippers for Rachel. Green gloves with gold laces for Miranda. Red gloves with white laces for Rachel. Miranda’s dark hair in French braid down her back. Rachel (blonde this time out) has her hair in a simple ponytail. Instructions are crisp and professional. The fights swipe gloves and go to their corners. The bell rings…

R1: Brisk moves to mid-ring and the two fighters start firing away with long-armed probing punches. Rachel doing her best to keep Miranda off balance with quick footwork and she’s scoring regularly to Miranda’s head. Miranda not liking having her noggin under attack, hunches down and fires some solid lefts and rights into Rachel’s torso. Rachel not getting in the connects she wants, shifts her attack to treating Miranda’s abs to some lashing hooks. Miranda accepting the challenge, goes on the attack, trying to bang her way in close. Rachel jabbing back with determination and it is an intense battle in close. Rachel able to smite Miranda’s chin with some sneaky uppercuts that gets passed the Aussie’s gloves. Miranda backing up but unleashes some jabbing to minimize the follow up. Late, Rachel hooks Miranda to the belly and doubles her up at the bell. Still, the judges think it was close round, but give it to Rachel Nichols.

R2: Miranda out swiftly to start this round and catches Rachel by surprise with hard smashing rights and lefts to the jaw. Rachel frozen for a moment and Miranda uses uppercuts to bang the Foxfire beauty’s chin. Rachel backing away on trembling legs, trying to regroup behind a desperate jab. Miranda hungrily circling, banging away to the body and the sides of Rachel’s head. Rachel realizes she is being pushed back to the ropes and tries to fight her way clear. Miranda looks commanding as she cuts off the escape attempt and pounds Rachel’s chest and belly to back her up. Rachel sinks into the ropes, face in gloves and gives up her body to a fierce Miranda Kerr shelling. Rachel makes it to the bell, but her body is covered with red splotches and she looks like her whole body is still vibrating from the punching she endured. Miranda just goes to her corner with the same determined look she had during the round.

R3: Hard work by the Foxfire corner crew seems to pay off as Rachel Nichols looks revived in this round. Miranda comes rolling back in, but runs into a fierce Rachel jabbing that pounds her chest and then into her face. Miranda fighting back against those face shots and scoring against Rachel’s face until both fighters are lumping up. Then Rachel stuffs hooks into Miranda’s belly sending shock waves through long Aussie legs. Miranda pulling back and once again shows her defensive jab to disrupt Rachel’s pursuit. Rachel circling, punching hard, but Miranda’s footwork making her an evasive target. Rachel attacking again late, drives Miranda back with more belly punching. Probably what gives her the round on the judges’ cards, but Miranda able to keep it close.

R4: Rachel on the attack again, but Miranda greets her with that hard-hitting jab first to the belly and then, as Rachel pauses and tries to steady herself, Miranda strikes at Rachel’s face. Miranda able to get over Rachel’s gloves to bang hard into Rachel’s forehead and eyebrow line. Rachel trying to bang her way into, but Miranda is using that evasive footwork to good advantage to dodge Rachel’s counters. Miranda hammering back at Rachel’s with some solid body work to keep Rachel off balance. Rachel growing confused and sluggish as the round ends. Rachel is swaying before she locates her corner and totters off towards. Miranda watching this with cold satisfaction before moving briskly to her own stool.

R5: At first it appears the Foxfire corner crew was again able to revive Rachel after a hard round. She comes out promptly and heads right for Miranda. However this round, instead of letting Rachel break herself against the jab, Miranda attacks first. This plainly catches Rachel with her guard loose as she is getting ready to fire away at Miranda. Miranda sends a crashing overhand right that catches Rachel in the mouth. Then a left crashes into the side of her chin. Rachel stopped by the first blow and then is sent reeling by the second. Rachel sprawling against the ropes, but clinches as Miranda closes in. Miranda keeps trying to drive Rachel back to the ropes, but Rachel using clinches to disrupt this. Then Miranda allow action to move out to the center of the ring. Rachel trying to mount a counterattack, but as she lunges in, Miranda stops her with the jab and then fires right and left uppercuts into the jaw. Rachel caught flush by the uppercuts, goes stumbling back and Miranda leaps in with a blockbuster right to the jaw. Rachel’s head jerks around followed by her whole body and then her legs buckle and she crashes to her knees. Arms dropping to her sides, Rachel then topples forward from the kneeling position to smack face-first into the canvas. Miranda Kerr stands over the sprawled Rachel for a second then is ordered to the neutral corner by the referee. Rachel rolling onto her back, somehow manages to push herself into a seated position, but she looks around with a blank look on her face.  Rachel unable to do more before she is counted out.
THE WINNER: MIRANDA KERR KO5!

After: Miranda Kerr with a big smile on her face as she raises her right arm in victory and acknowledges the cheers of her fans. Of course, she’s got an even bigger smile when she is finally able to pull a (somewhat) revived Rachel Nichols off her stool and parade her around the ring in walk of shame. Rachel stumbling along, kept moving by open palmed swats on her red panties behind from the victorious Miranda.

“I trust this will demonstrate that Miranda Kerr is more than ‘specialty bout’ fighter,” Ms Kerr happily tells the press. “I deserve the chance to fight top lightweights and be a serious contender for the Lightweight Title. I admit this was only one step in that march to victory, but  I have won it and I am ready to move on!”

“I am not sure what happened,” a plainly shocked and disappointed Rachel Nichols later tells the reporters. “I thought I was getting the range on her and wearing her down, but suddenly there I was on the canvas. I’m going to need some time studying tape to figure out what went wrong.”

Rachel Nichols may be bewildered at what happened to her, but viewed from the outside, it was simple. Miranda able to get through some bad moments and then strike back on her way to victory. Rachel was not able to do that. Impressive win for the Australian supermodel and it should be interesting to see where her FCBA lightweight career goes from here. Of course, she’s got to work her way past some tough contenders already ahead of her, but she certainly has proven she deserves the opportunity. Meanwhile, looks like a period of reflection and re-tooling for Rachel Nichols, but she has the advantage of working for Foxfire Boxing an organization known for its patience with struggling fighters.  This will hopefully get Ms. Nichols back on the winning track very shortly
