Intro:
The main event sees the hometown girl Jessica Lucas return to Vancouver to do battle against Hollywood star Marion Cotilllard.
This is Jessica's debut but she is rumoured to be highly rated by pundits due to her time on Gotham as Tigeress (Tabitha Galavan) meant she was trained in martial arts for the show.
Meanwhile Marion enters this fight with a record of 2 wins in 13 fights, she has won by knockout in both of those fights so is viewed as the underdog in this fight.
As this was the main event, both women were on TV shows together, radio and interviewed for websites and magazines.
Both women were polite and there didn't seem any real needle between them as they would sit and talk about the fight respectful of each other.

At the final press conference, both women stood nose to nose and looked serious for the first real time as this was the last time they would really be together before they were in the ring together.
Sitting down at different tables, Jessica was asked to speak first, standing up, she started her speak by saying "I'm honoured to be able to fight in my hometown, this will be special for me and I hope to make you guys proud"
Looking over at Marion, she says "I know Marion is French and we here in Canada have a friendly relationship and I do offer friendship to Marion but in that ring, there are no friends, no family, just two warriors going at it"
She finishes with "So Marion, like my character and new nickname in the gym, this tigress is going to pounce on you and show I am the best fighter in this division"
Marion stands up and smirks at Jessica as she replies "first let me say it is great to fight here, Canada is like France, so I feel at home myself here"
Then she adds in a more angry tone "but tigress, I think you will find I am tougher than you realise and if you try to pounce on me, I will pin you down to show you who is the queen around here"
Both women smirk at each other till they are asked to face each other in one last stare down and the fighters glare at each other.
Leaving the stage, both girls look pumped to get it on right now but they will have to wait till the next night to get it on.

Fight night, Marion Cotillard is first out as evidently Jessica is getting the big entrance, not that Marion seems to care as she comes out with her coach waving the French flag behind her.
Coming down to the ring with some cheers, she is wearing light blue sports bra, shorts, shoes and gloves.
Entering the ring, Marion nods to the crowd but quickly goes to her corner as she knows that she isn't the star attraction for once in her career.
The roof explodes off the arena as Jessica Lucas comes out to the top of the ramp with the flag of Canada in her hands, her black gloves around her shoulders as she proudly waves the flag for her fans.
Walking down to the ring with the flag in her hands, Jessica is wearing a black sports bra and shoes but has tiger print trunks on to go with her nickname.
As she enters the ring, she hands Nicole De Boer the flag and after she hangs it on her ring post, she helps her with her black gloves as she starts to focus on what's about to happen.
Both girls get introduced, with Jessica getting the much louder cheer as she waves to the crowd to show her thanks for their support.
Brought to the ring by the referee, both fighters glare at each other as instructions are being read out to them.
Asked to touch gloves, both respectfully do and wish each other good luck but as they head back to their corners, the time for talking is over and the time for action is about to begin.
Coaches leave the ring, the crowd simmer down as they wait for the bell and the referee happy everything is sorted, points to the timekeeper to ring the bell to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding" out come the fighters up on their toes, testing each other out with the jab as they dance around each other, trying to find holes in each others guards
It's a slow start for both as they keep with the jabbing assault till Marion sees something that makes her go on the attack.
The French fighter starts to come on the attack and Jessica misses with her reply punches, Marion using her jab to set up different angles for her right hand to sneak in and be a nuisance.
Jessica starts to dig forwards with short sharp thrown pushes that the silky Marion moves out of the way of, before landing her jabs and straights over the top.
Marion just looks so calm as Jessica is not pressing her enough in this round to make her sweat and as the crowd cheer and scream louder to get their girl into this, it seems to be having an adverse effect.
Throwing a quick three punch combo up the centre of Jessica's guard, before swooping low to land just above the waistband of her opponents trunks to show her experience as the referee keeps watch but can't complain yet.
Jessica grunting under the assault but finally catches Marion with something of note late in the round as she faints a left then slams an uppercut up the middle with her right to snap Marion's head back.
But before she can do much more, the bell rings and both girls go back to their corners without prompting as their coaches are already giving advice to them before fixing them up.
Of the fighters, Marion looks the happier of the fighters as she looks relaxed on her stool, Jessica looks tense as Nicole tries to get her to relax and focus on what they've trained for.

Round 2:
Marion starts off the stronger as she flicks her jab out early before going back to that body attack to try and wear the younger fighter out.
Jessica trying to walk Marion down but is holding her punches back, she looks to be waiting for the perfect punch and it isn't going to come like this.
Nicole is shouting to tell Jessica to get in gear, as Marion continues to slam fists towards the body of Lucas, who dodges some punches and takes a few others.
Single punches being exchanged as neither seems ready to go all out yet, Marion is still landing the cleaner punches of the two.
Jessica starts to free up her hands as she seems to realise that she has to do something before the fight passes her by.
Dodging punches from Marion and slipping her own forward, Jessica is showing some nice fluid skills, if no power punches yet.
But Marion is now getting her face scuffed up by the gloves of Jessica, as Lucas comes up the centre with a good two punch combo then digs down with two body punches to make her opponent take a few steps back.
Marion does manage to slam a right hook across the cheek of Jessica to slow down her progression and both fighters dig in to slam away to the body as the last 10 seconds is called out and both girls try to win the round.
The bell rings with both girls holding their arms out to the side to show they are not going to continue, nodding to each other, the fighters return to their corners and both coaches don't seem too worried yet as they talk to their fighters.
Jessica is looking less tense as her nerves seem to be dying down, Marion continues to smile in her corner and talk with her coach.

Round 3:
Out come the fighters, Marion is starting to get hit more often and cleanly as Jessica moves around her quickly and snapping her punches out.
Marion does manage to land a good double jab to knock Jessica back a step and works away to the body to redden Lucas's body up.
But Jessica snaps a right hook around the guard of Marion to knock her head to the side and it's like a lightbulb has went off in her head as she drives forward.
Slamming a jab and a straight through the guard to snap Marion's head back as the crowd roars their girl onwards and Jessica obliges with more punches ripping through.
An uppercut rips open the gloves of Marion and down to her behind she goes with a stunned look on her face as she stares up at the referee.
Jessica jogs back to her corner as the referee begins to count as Marion shakes her head to say she isn't hurt and pushes herself up at 8.
Lucas drives forward again as Marion has to clinch up after taking two more straight punches that knock her back another step.
The referee gives the girls a chance to work and other then some sneaky shots to the others kidneys, there isn't much happening, so he pulls them apart to get back at it.
Marion slips a few punches as Jessica gets reckless in her own assault and it let's the French fighter slam two hooks to Jessica's face to keep her honest.
Jessica cracks Marion with her own right hook late in the round to knock the French fighter to the ropes but gets clinched up till the bell rings to end the round.
Separating, the girls stare hard at each other as their competitive fires are burning brightly, returning to their corners, both are focused purely on the woman across from them.

Round 4:
Marion is coming out strong as she tries to press forward under her jab, swinging hard shots that just miss Jessica.
Lucas fires back with a hard straight and both girls start trading in tight to the others body and Jessica has to shove Cotillard away as her body is starting to hurt from the repeated shots.
Snapping the head of Marion back with another straight before two shots just under the jugs make the French fighter retreat.
Jessica's eyes light up as she drives forward and knocks Marion to the ropes, working away on the ropes, both girls slam hard shots into each others faces to rock each other.
Clinching up together, Jessica presses Marion to the ropes to show her power and to wear Marion out as she tries to shove her way back off the ropes, the referee dives in to separate the girls.
Jessica snaps another left hook into Marion's body to hurt the older fighter and Cotillard is worked into a corner with multiple shots.
Marion latches on to Jessica, who presses her against the turnbuckles to show her growing dominance as this fight wears on.
The referee works to separate the two fighters as they struggle against each other, Jessica nearly shoves Marion through the ropes as the referee pulls her off, earning her a warning.
Marion slams into Jessica to work her body over and Jessica has to slam her with digging shots to her kidneys to get her to step back.
The bell rings with both girls nose to nose but they step away from each other just before they start up again.
Both have scars of battle as their faces are marked up with swelling and bodies have red marks across them, both sets of coaches get to work on fixing them up.

Round 5:
Jessica rocks Marion early with another uppercut through the guard, Cotillard stumbles backwards but gets her feet back under herself to flick out her jab.
But she is starting to look in danger as Jessica pounces on her with a right hook that turns her legs to jelly and an overhand right follows that lands to the temple of Marion.
The crowd are up on their feet cheering loudly as Marion is down on her side, as the count is going on around her, she is stumbling around as she tries to shove herself up and at 8, the referee waves the fight off as Marion's arms give way and she falls back to her side.

Winner: Jessica Lucas KO Round 5

After:
Jessica looks overwhelmed as the roof nearly comes off the arena, the crowd at cheering that loud for their girl, Lucas wiping a tear of joy from her eye as Nicole rushes in to lift her up in a hug.
Marion is helped up to a stool as she tries to clear her head, her coach pats her on her back for a great try at winning but couldn't find that real power punch to hurt Jessica badly.
After getting their gloves taken off, Jessica comes over to Marion and the two girls chat and smile with each other, all of the competitiveness drained away as they talk about the fight and if Marion is OK.
Once Marion has her feet back under her, both girls are brought to the ring centre for the final announcement, with Jessica getting her hand raised to a round of applause as both girls hug and Marion let's Jessica have her moment in the ring alone as she leaves the ring to a respectful round of applause.

Jillian Barberie is the special interviewer tonight as she climbs into the ring and both her and Jessica hug before Jessica gets to say what's on her mind.
Jessica tells Jillian "wow, I'm nearly speechless, I mean look around us" as the crowd sound like they are cheering for their Ice Hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks, it's that loud.
They quiet down enough so they can hear Jessica say "I'll admit I was nervous in this atmosphere, I started slow and it did worry me but I think I did good in the end"
Continuing, she respectfully says "I have to thank Marion for giving me a good first test, she is a legend on the big screen and I can honestly say she is great in this ring"
She finishes with "but I was better tonight and I will use this to step forwards, hopefully I can work my way to a title fight as quickly as I can as I think I'm good enough"
Jillian laughs and agrees with her as the two women leave the ring, Nicole meets them on the outside as the trio walk up the ramp together, planning how they are going to celebrate this night together as Team Canada can't be too depressed with tonights results.
