Cassie Scerbo versus Natalie Portman (Flyweight Title)
(Words: Bazz / Results: Lookout!)

Before: “Well here’s another one. Another flyweight that I have to get even with for previously beating me. Don’t get me wrong. Besides that rather odd deal with her academy award I thought that it was one of the toughest fights that I’ve ever been in. She may come off as all debutante and hoity toity and the like but Nats is one tough brawler. That’s okay though because this time I’m going to knock her block off.” Cassie Scerbo informs a rather shocked press corp wondering where the well established edge went in her intro. No well placed insult or risk of a prefight physical altercation. In fact the cadre of security is left with arms folded and kicking at the ground with no action to be found.

“Well I’m glad that I won’t have to worry about getting puddinged after this.” Nats adds causing the press corp to break out in guffaws. “Unlike the rest of the free world I’m not worried about the Scerbonator and Hudgy forming some sort of evil alliance. To prove it after I beat Cassie tonight I’m going to allow Hudgy to challenge me for my first defense. Actually I do appreciate the respect from Cassie. That last fight was 13 rounds of tough road to hoe. But that’s enough of the niceties. We’re both nasty fighters when it comes down to it so let’s get off these podiums and into the ring.” Natalie Portman seems unmoved by the latest developments in the flyweight division and she wants Cassie Scerbo to know it as she dismounts the podium and heads to the fight.
Portman wearing a bright yellow bikini with black gloves and calf boots her hair in a tight battle ready ponytail. Scerbo in a Bazz black bikini, gloves and her own black calf boots and ponytail.

Rd 1 Both girls hunting and pecking at each other with razor sharp jabs. Portman slipping in on Scerbo smooth as silk bopping her on the head and slipping away. Cassie more frenetic darting in and out jolting off crisp jabs, catching Nats hard enough to snap her head back. They circle one another each desperately trying to get an advantage over the other. After a brief separation the two charge in again. Scerbo furiously jabbing at Portman’s head while Natalie puts together a three punch combination that tags Cassie. The crowd responds to Nat’s successful blitz and it gives her the round.

Rd 2 Still seething at the memory of an academy award shoved in her face during their last fight Scerbo comes out like a lightning bolt. Cassie gets right into Portman’s grill stutter steps right then left like a swing dancer and then unleashes a right hand to the midsection which deflates Nats like a tire that’s run over a nail. Cassie follows up with a straight left hand poke to the snout and another sweeping right hand that rakes Natalie’s left flank. Portman doubles over and winces. Scerbo senses the damage done and moves for some more. She’s back to what she does best, the Scerbo jitterbug, dancing in and out pummeling Nat to the head and then deftly touching up the tummy. Poor Natalie up against the ropes finding that she’s not quick enough to keep one pesky flyweight at bay. Round ends with no doubt who is in charge.

Rd 3 Scerbo all business. There’s no showboating just because she’s had a good round. Portman still looking a bit under the weather from the pain generated from Scerbo’s anger. Portman puts up her dukes and defends herself against a surging Cassie while trying to score with some well placed jabs. Scerbo ducking and weaving getting in on Natalie and darting away before Portman can get to her. Portman can’t resist, Scerbo steps in whips out two quick punches and Nats has to try and chase her down. She steps forward with a loaded right hand but Cassie swings off her back foot and sweeps it across Portman’s chin. NATS IN TROUBLE! The fence post holes are deep and she’s just able to maintain a semblance of vertical capability while she finds a set of ropes to lean on. Cassie hops to it pounding Natalie in the torso hoping to finish things early. Natalie sagging and swaying to avoid the worst that Scerbo is offering up. The round ends and Cassie can’t help but turn and check on what’s left of her opponent as she walks back to her corner.

Rd 4 Natalie’s corner works on resurrecting her as her manager barks orders to the nodding former champ. Cassie immediately senses some more pep in Nats as they meet at center ring. She’s far from beaten so the two go at each other with caution this round. Natalie trying to hit at Cassie with punches to the torso whenever she’s in range. Cassie dodging and jabbing, dodging and jabbing, a pesky and elusive target for Portman. Still Natalie is relentless trying to corner Scerbo at the turnbuckles and against the ropes anywhere she has a chance of slowing her down. Cassie tries to power her way out of a flurry against the ropes but Portman isn’t letting her go that easy. She leans into the troublesome Bazz girl and digs into her tummy with some rapid fire lefts and rights. The change of direction for Natalie is a challenge for Cassie who is happiest out in space causing trouble for her opponents with her quickness. As the round ends it’s business as usual against Cassie Scerbo for a flyweight that isn’t quite as quick and for Natalie it helps her win this close round.

Rd 5 Portman continues the arduous task of striving to corral Cassie Scerbo. She hunts down the pesky Bazz girl and pushing her against the ropes begins mauling Scerbo with her shoulders and fists to the midsection. Scerbo makes a dash to the left only to catch a rather sharp Natalie elbow to the ribs. The shot deflates Cassie doubling her over and allows Natalie to keep her in the pen. Scerbo still affected by the rough blow covers up in the corner while Portman goes to town with a series of blows to the body mingled with a couple of well disguised roundhouse punches designed to take the Bazz girl’s head off. Crowd sensing a possible conclusion is on its collective feet and screaming while Portman swings away. Cassie is ducking and weaving and using the ropes to bounce in and out making herself a very difficult target to score against. Still it’s all Natalie as she finishes up the round with a big lead. Meanwhile Cassie stays behind after the bell to have a chat with the referee regarding elbows and the illegality of their use. The rambunctious flyweight gives a quick demonstration of how Natalie has been putting her extremities into play while the ref looks on pensively while rubbing his chin. At the end all Cassie gets for her trouble is a wagging of a finger from the ref and an order to return to her corner.

Rd 6 The rebuff by the referee and a strong pep talk from Poindexter Del Crunchy seems to have fueled Cassie Scerbo. She darts out of her corner and gets right after Natalie Portman. Nats tries to herd Cassie but Scerbo is having none of it. She’s out at center ring making Natalie play Come And Get Me. The result is Portman chasing Scerbo around the ring hoping to get her back into the corner yet all she gets for her troubles is some seriously painful bee stings furnished by some rapid fire combinations from Cassie’s fists. Suddenly Scerbo breaking down her patented jitterbug move steps forward, plants her left leg and reaching out with a decoy jab follows up with an over hand right that staggers Portman. She’s wandering around the ring in a complete state of denial while Cassie moves in for the kill only to be interrupted by the bell.

Rd 7 Portman still not a 100% but she’s game, former champs always are. She bobs and weaves her way into scoring on a couple of jabs and throwing a hard right hand. Scerbo leans back away from the right hand watching it zing past. Cassie takes her time, finds an opening and dances in scoring big on a three punch combination. She’s got a rhythm going now. Portman seems unable to stop the rapid fire punching machine that is Cassie Scerbo. Now it’s Natalie’s turn to try and escape the ropes and avoid the brutal smackdown that Cassie is applying. Finally Natalie is able to finagle some space and get out to center ring but Scerbo is right after her. Portman turns after getting away from the ropes and BANG! DOWN GOES NATS! Natalie had squeezed out from between Scerbo and the ropes but no sooner had she spun to face Cassie when she was met by one of the Bazz girl’s overhand rights. Natalie all groggy as she climbs to her feet from the canvas. Ref gives her a standing eight count and then Scerbo steps in to continue the battle. Portman hanging in there. She blocks a couple of Cassie’s jabs and counters with a right hand that lands to the torso. Yet Scerbo is relentless. She continues to jab and move keeping Portman at bay. Meanwhile Nats is trying to recover and make a comeback but she’s run down and it isn’t long before Cassie is scoring again. She bullies Natalie up against the ropes again and goes to work. Portman is bobbing and weaving dodging a lot of the punches but she’s getting tagged by enough of them that she’s a wilting beauty now. Suddenly Cassie sends out a right that rocks Natalie’s head back. She’s using the ropes like a hammock now. Cassie continues to jab, jab, jab and then it’s over. The referee steps between It’s a 7th round TKO with Cassie Scerbo retaining her flyweight title!

After: Cassie Scerbo reclines on her stool using the turnbuckle as a back rest while she answers questions for the clamoring press. “Hey, like I said Nats is tough. She gave me a tough time in the middle of the fight and it could have gone either way. So to say the least I’m happy to be able to keep moving on. We’ll see what Pointy and Rohmmy have planned next.” When asked about the sharp elbows and subsequent tete-a-tete with the ref Cassie stated, “Hey that stuff happens. It’s part of the game although I thought that the ref could have figured it out. I’m going to have to put a pair of glasses in his Christmas stocking.”
