BEFORE: "The ADA's on Law and Order always got the big pushes and all the attention," Milena explains in prefight, "but I was the best all around fighter in that show's 20 year history, and I always wanted to get Alana in the ring. She was always too light for us to box, but coming off pregnancy, that's not an issue - so I'm really excited we're putting this together. You know - no matter how pretty or elusive a Latina is, sooner or later, she'll stand and bang with you - that's what they do. When Alana gives in to her true nature, I'll find her, and we'll see how she handles it!"

De La Garza anxious to get back in the swing - punching the pounds off with a little catch-weight action. "I want to cut back to lightweight gradually, so Milena's perfect for me right now," De La G explains at podium. "Yes, she's big and strong, but once she's tasted my hook, she'll fight small. I kind of like Milena, but I'm also kinda sick of her grumbling about being an overlooked talent. I was the star of LAO for a reason, and Millie's got to learn to accept that."

De La G in purple bikini/black gloves; fighting curvy at a good 15 pounds above her optimal ring-weight. Govich in jaunty nautical look: royal blue/white horizontally barred bikini top (twist-tied); snug royal blue, boy-leg bottoms with slim white belt; white gloves; hair loose/straight.

During R1: De la Garza sharp early...little half-step back to walk Milena's chin onto a nasty check-hook and GOVICH SITS DOWN! Milena up quickly, blushing crimson: she takes a standing 8 with smoldering Alana pacing neutral corner like a puma. ON COMES DE LA G! Alana attacking ala young Tito Trinidad - slashing lefts and rights in on an astounded Milena G: Govich covered up, stooped forward, her butt in ropes. Rip-roaring stuff - lathering beat down sees mitts bouncing off brawny shoulders/curvy hips - sweeping across back - clapping on ears. Alana snarling, baring her fangs: she's palm-shoving Milena in her shoulders to reset, then laying in fresh leather. Govich beaten senseless, but strong legs holding her up: towards round's end, she's able to clinch, holding Alana for ref's breaks, slowing the pace of the pasting.

R2: Alana: loose-kneed - stepping in on left (front) leg - bending low/bobbing supple at her waist...she's jabbing or showing the springy lead right, then curling limber hooks across Milena's front. Govich wary - hands up tight to temples/elbows tight to body - she too crouches forward, looking to club away receipts. Patient, methodical stuff - Alana showing plenty of respect - moving after she gets off: Govich stout, walking Alana down but getting turned as De La Garza pivots round either flank. Most of Milena's work taking Alana across her armpits/ribs; De La Garza tattooing Milena's face. Alana in control with her legs - dictates terms to stubborn Milena through 2.

R3: Same patient, methodical fare from both ladies. Alana loose, relaxed - the right hand leads springy off her shoulder; the left hooks curling in rising arcs, following through to her own right ear. Govich well-stroked, but maintaining tight peek-a-boo: Milena blocking most of the head-heat. Govich scoring to Alana's ribs in spots, but not sustaining pressure: De La Garza fighting a turning duel midring, outboxing Milena through 3.

R4: Milena unpacks the jab, startling Alana to chest/face: it's a difference-maker. Govich output numbers climb as her jab renegotiates terms: she's able to slam beefy right/lefts to torso, shaking Alana in her stance. De La G lashing back - lathering Milena about HER flanks, and looking check-chin curling left uppercuts. Milena coming forward constructively, putting some wear on Alana's classy chassis: Govich scoops her first points.

R5: Latina lead right hand pounds bridge-o'-the-nose on Milena; follow on limber hook strokes chin, then doubles up slick and MILENA'S ROCKED! Govich stepping in fence post holes, blinking in confusion: snarling Alana pivots counter-clockwise, emerging outside Millie's left shoulder to catch her a slinging right cross to ear! Govich stumbling to ropes, then sliding to her right: strong legs holding her up, but MG's wobbly-butt. Stalking pursuit from Alana - she steps in, slides the lead right down onto Milena's stomach - steps out as Govich inches forward and STROKES Milena the curving chin-hook! Milena's right foot slides well forward...she reels back into ropes: cables keep her upright as Govich is in free fall. Torrid pasting adminstered, Alana to Milena: De La Garza sets phasers to "lather" and belts away robusto! Govich groggy, covering up all beefy behind her mitts: lats/waist/shoulders/scalp all take a fearful walloping as Alana unleashes. Bell: Milena swaying, but still standing: Alana's chest heaving, her hands on hips - De La Garza visibly astonished that Govich is still awake.

R6: Back to patient, methodical chipping away approach for Alana: she's steppin' around loose in her stance/bendy at her middle - showing the lead right, curling the hook, turning Milena's flanks. Govich all busted up and mousy under both eyes, but she's resolute: big brunette following her beautiful rival around at a stalker's pace. Alana busier - most of her punches at least partially blocked on sturdy Govich defences, but it's De La Garza getting off through 6.

R7: Milena unpacks that heavy, howitzer jab: fight changes immediately. Thumped to chest or face, Alana stops circling - Milena able to exchange-with and get the better of torso-banging melees. De La Garza scowling, grumpy from body blows - she's walking to either side - showing the stay-away jab, not overly eager to stand and bang with Milena. Govich more and more brazen - even rushing in towards the end to body Alana to ropes. Round ends with De La Garza stooped face-in-gloves off ropes, suffering a hamfisted clobbering in her ribcage as Milena shows Foremanesque roundhouses, both hands.

R8: Alana mouthbreathing - fatigued: she's loping to her right, trading canvas for time. Milena gambling - narrowly evading a timing uppercut as she rushes in, pancakes Alana to ropes. Govich pushes off - weight on left (front) leg as she leans forward, unleashes thick, stroking right/left roundhouses to Alana's waistline. Thumping, meaty licks clap out loud: Alana groaning, covering up face-in-gloves, starting to freeze up. Milena pushing Alana upright - getting after that body again thump-thump roundhouses: De La G groaning, reaching to clinch, only to be stacked up HARD by an aggressive Govich shoulder-block. Milena pushes off, pounds the body right/left, then OH LORD, THE RIGHT UPPERCUT! Alana brushed upright and back into ropes, her body loose, face slackjawed and gobsmacked...she's helpless! Clubbing hooks beat at Alana's ear, shunting her in a half-roll to her left along ropes - right side presented to Govich. Crowd screaming - Milena's eyes wide as bowling balls: sweeping right roundhouse takes care of Alana's belly; looping overhand left smashes the upperback and DE LA GARZA GOES DOWN! Swooning jack-knife into canvas sees Alana sprawl belly-down parallel to ropes: she's a bludgeoned vixen, fast asleep at Milena's feet. KO8 Milena G in brutal fashion.

After: Milena glowing - earning "throwback" fighter comparisons to Chuvalo, Foreman etc - De La Garza simply not built to withstand Milena's thudding weight of shot. "I watched a lot of tape of Righetti's fight with Alana," Milena reveals in postfight, her face a patchwork quilt of punishment thanks to Alana's ferocity. "It was the same thing - Alana can't handle beef, and we knew we could break her down if we kept at her. She really stroked me some vicious licks though - trust me, I did NOT envision starting out the first round dusting the canvas with my tush - but I was too determined to let that discourage me!"
