BEFORE:

"No," says Pooja with a shake of the head, "It didn't go well last time. But. That was against a contender like Meester. This is a different kettle of fish."

"You know," says Ariel with a smile, "I've been called a lot of things, but never a kettle of fish. But, if Pooja's taking me lightly, she's in for a WHALE of a surprise tonight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's..."

McCarthy: "AHHHH! Not that SONG again! That song is TERRIBLE! That song is AWFUL! That song could not BE worse..."

Tess: "Have you forgotten the card where everybody came down to the some of the worst music ever to hit the charts?"

McCarthy: "That CHARLENE! She should have been ARRESTED for CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY!"

O'Dell: "A-HEM! If we could concentrate on the ring! The song is 'Hangover' by Salman Khan and Shreya Ghoshal from the movie 'Kick', and that's the theme song for the lovely young lady climbing into the ring right now, Foxfire Atlantic's own, Pooja Shah!"

Cassie: "Shah, as she points out, has been to Asylum before and lost to Leighton Meester. She showed some things that night, though."

O'Dell: "Pooja helped off with the robe to reveal that pink bikini we saw the last time, and that's 'I Knew You Were Trouble' pounding through the arena, and here comes the singer of that tune, Ariel 'Dangerous Curves' Winter!"

Tess: "Ariel making her second appearance under Front Street management. Looked plenty good the first time around..."

Cassie: "No question about it. She has plenty of talent and, at her age, plenty of time to develop it."

O'Dell: "Winter into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that white bikini we saw in January, and those 'Dangerous Curves' are on full display. And, the crowd clearly likes it. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Ariel. Mac?"

McCarthy: "I'm picking Winter just because Shah's music has damaged my sense of olfaction!"

Tess: "Um..."

Cassie: "Nope. Not worth it."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And the first round begins as both fighters look to create favorable terms. Shah taller, rangier, wants to work at distance. Winter, as always, wants to close and bang, Pooja using a nice jab to try to create the range she wants. Winter, the pressure fighter, working past, banging body..."

McCarthy: "And, this is almost certainly what we're going to be seeing all night. Shah has a three-inch height advantage, and she'll definitely want to use it."

O'Dell: "Winter taking some fire on the way in, as you'd expect, but she's getting past the defenses and working body when she does. Going upstairs some, too, and that might be wise, because Shah is plenty sturdy and she's not going to be easy to break down to the body..."

Cassie: "Good point, Jenny. It's going to take a lot of investment to have any success."

O'Dell: "Twenty seconds to go in the first, Winter bobbing forward, hooking the ribs, nice right hand to the head. Shah shoving her off, landing a nice hook to the midsection. Fighters exchange right hands, then get tied up with one another. Referee breaks and there's the bell. Close. Winter."

Tess: "And, not a bad start for either fighter."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins on the same terms. Winter showing good head movement, working forward as Shah tries to pick her off with the left hand and POOJA LANDS A HARD RIGHT! That stopped Ariel in her tracks and now SHAH BACKS HER UP WITH A RIGHT HAND! Winter a little buzzed, Mac..."

McCarthy: "More than a little! Those were two solid punches!"

O'Dell: "Shah getting aggressive now, coming forward behind the left, backing Ariel up, landing solid right hands. Winter a little unsteady and Pooja knows it. She's thinking about finishing now. Winter covering up, giving ground, backed to the ropes where she's taking heavy fire..."

Tess: "Shah just letting those hands GO, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "Definitely is and she's got the younger girl on the ropes both literally AND figuratively! Referee taking a hard look. Ariel jabbing back in spots, but she's taking a pasting from the British beauty. Ten seconds to go in the round. Winter's going to survive it, but that's about all. Shah wide at the bell."

Cassie: "And, we're all even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third and Shah picking up right where she left off. She's backing up a still-unsteady Winter, letting her have it with both barrels. Ariel getting buffeted around the ring, remaining on the defensive, just countering here and there as Pooja's in complete control of things in there..."

McCarthy: "Kid's got to find a way to slow this down. Shah's really rolling."

O'Dell: "That, she is. And all that heavy leather not helping Ariel shake the damage Pooja did in the last round. GOOD right hand, Shah and Winter's knees do a shimmy! Pooja's got the younger woman in deep trouble now! Shah going all in, battering the teenager back into the ropes now..."

Tess: "Winter needs to get busier. Referee looking in very closely again."

O'Dell: "And, Shah definitely doing all she can to get him to step in. She's throwing everything she's got at the younger woman, banging away with both hands, looking to land the big one that will end things. Winter hanging on grimly. Five seconds to go. She'll survive the round again, but Pooja's got it wide."

Cassie: "Shah now in control and in the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Shah after Winter again. She's backing up the shorter woman with flurry after flurry of punches. Ariel trying to hold ground now, bang back. She's slowly starting to stabilize her front here. Looks like she might be getting those sturdy legs back under her, Mac, and none too soon..."

McCarthy: "Absolutely. She's taking a licking the last two rounds."

O'Dell: "Pooja no longer trying to press things. She can see that Winter's not going to be forced backward, so, instead of coming forward behind the jab, she's now setting up at range and Ariel now the one who wants to work in. We're right back to the terms we saw in the first."

Cassie: "And, just like the first, we're seeing good, two-way stuff, with Shah scoring at range and Winter piling up points when she can work in and work the body."

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in the fourth and Winter's gotten stronger as this round has gone on. Shah had the better of the first minute or so, and things were pretty even in the middle, but now Ariel's making up the stagger, scoring points with the pressure, backing up Shah, landing a solid right hand at the bell. Close round. Winter, just."

Tess: "And, we're even at 38 after four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with Winter more aggressively forward. She was doing her best work of the fight at the end of the fourth, and she's looking to follow up now. Shah holding her canvas, banging back with the shorter beauty, lands a good left hook and WINTER HURT HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Pooja staggered and DOWN SHE GOES! A short left hook drops Shah to her back!"

Cassie: "That was a NASTY left hook!"

O'Dell: "Winter to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Shah sits up at seven. Eight. Pooja to her feet. Referee gives her the mandatory. And he waives Winter forward. Ariel all OVER the older woman now. She's winging away with both hands and Shah covers up and gives ground and GOES DOWN! A BOOMING right hand from Winter!"

McCarthy: "She's not getting up from that one!"

O'Dell: "Pooja spilled to her back. Ariel again to a neutral corner. Shah, head lolling back and forth as the referee's count reaches three. Four. Five. Six. Pooja rolls to her belly. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! Shah still face down on the mat as the count passes her by, and your winner by KO5 is Ariel 'Dangerous Curves' Winter!"

Tess: "A little ragged in spots, but not a bad performance for a nineteen year old."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Ariel Winter, and, Ariel, some tough rounds for you tonight..."

Ariel (nodding): "She can hit, and we knew that coming in. She caught me with a couple and had me in some trouble. But, I kept fighting and was able to work my way out of it."

Tess: "It seemed like it came together for you late in the fourth."

Ariel: "It definitely did. I started to get into rhythm, find what I was looking for. Then I caught her with some really good shots in the fifth and got her out of there. It wasn't easy. But, I got it done."
