Natalie Portman vs. Jenna Coleman (Unified Flyweight Championship)
(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:
While it's true that Jenna Coleman had a pair of FCBA fights before her first match against Natalie Portman, it's also true that Portman/Coleman I was the fight that put Coleman on the FCBA map. BP, Before Portman, Coleman was BBU Flyweight Champion, but also a girl who'd lost to Emma Watson in the FCBA. AP, After Portman, after Coleman's shocking eighth-round KO win, everything was different. Jenna was looking like being for real, and a follow up win over Sarah Carter laid to rest any doubts about it. Since, Coleman has claimed the JMD titles, but, despite having been ranked as a top ten flyweight contender for a year and having held the number one spot, Jenna's never had a shot at the lineal straps. That changes tonight. And, there's no question the Brit believes she's about to add the Unified Flyweight Championship to her collection of titles. "I keep hearing about my being the underdog tonight," Coleman says with a smile. "Apparently, some of these folks weren't around when I left Natalie sucking canvas the first time. Well. No matter. I'll just demonstrate which of us is better once again."

Of course, Queen Natalie is more than a little confident herself. Hall of Famers with ten titles to their names usually are. "Yes," says the queen with an icy glare, "she won the first time. And, that will cost her. Because, tonight, I'll be getting my revenge. And, she's not going to like it a bit. Not a bit."

ROUND ONE:

Coleman remembers what worked the first time. She wants to get physical early and often, and that's exactly what she does. Jenna's working forward quickly, crowding Natalie, tying up, levering, wrestling around with her, not allowing the champion to get into any kind of rhythm. Portman shoving off, using the feet, trying to get space, GOING DOWN? Going down! Less than a minute in and Portman is dropped with a short left hook! Natalie seated, staring up at the referee, shaking the head as Coleman dances toward a neutral corner all grins. Champion watches the count. Waits until eight. Gets to her feet. Takes the mandatory. Then takes a beating as ON COMES JENNA! Coleman just PUNISHING Nat now, giving the queen a thorough thrashing, trapping her on the ropes and absolutely lashing her body and pummeling her around the head. Natalie keeping the guard high, allowing all the body punishment. Holding on. Rolling with. Running clock. And, she runs it out. She's still standing at the bell, but she's buzzed and scuffed and Coleman's had a huge first to lead 10-8.

ROUND TWO:

More Jenna. Nat's wobbly and Coleman's taking advantage, giving the champion another pounding. Natalie playing defense, countering in spots, blocking and dodging some of the worst of the heavy fire being sent her way. But, there's plenty landing. Jenna's romping now, and clearly enjoying it, smiling as she digs a cruel hook into Portman's belly, grinning as she sends sweat flying from the champion's head with a hard right hand. Nat resolute. She's decided on a fighting retreat and is willing to pay the price now if it means living to fight another day. But, the price is a dear one. Coleman ROCKS the queen again late, sending her back into the ropes once again, for more punishment to both head and body. Ref's seen about enough of this. He's looking in closely. But, before he can move in, the bell rings saving Portman from either defeat or more punishment. It's Coleman wide again, and she's extended her lead to 20-17.

ROUND THREE:

Jenna right after Nat again, but, now, Portman not trying to play for space, instead, she's firing back. Natalie getting down in the trenches with the Brit and giving it right back to her. These definitely aren't the terms the queen usually prefers, but, they're the terms available to her, and she's quite effective on them. She's tying up inside, leveraging, hooking body, doing all the stuff Jenna's done effectively both in their first fight and so far in this one. Coleman a bit taken aback at first, but, only for a moment or two. After all, this is what she wants to do, and, if Portman wants to play in her yard, well, Jenna's more than happy to open the gate. Funny thing, though. Despite fighting on the challenger's terms, the champ gives as good as she gets. Every bit as good as she gets. There's nothing in it from the first punch to the last. And, at the bell, it's a drawn round. The good news for Jenna is, she still leads 30-27. The bad news is, Portman's stopped the bleeding and is back in the fight.

ROUND FOUR:

Nat throws the change up. Jenna's forward early looking to crowd and bang, but Portman has the legs back and she's now using them. Geometry class results. And, there aren't many women in the FCBA more likely to ace a geometry test than Queen Nat. She's throwing angles at the Brit, creating spacing problems, getting to spots, getting off, keeping Jenna off balance, wrong-footed, and in the wrong places. Coleman's short or she's long, and, while she can find Portman, she can't square her. Everything's suddenly out of kilter. And, the champion couldn't be loving it more. THIS is vintage Portman, boxing as well as anybody in the FCBA can and absolutely SCHOOLING a top contender in the process. For three minutes, Natalie touches up an increasingly frustrated Jenna. And, as the bell rings, the Queen digs one final hook into the belly that may or may not have been late and has Coleman trying to get through the referee to continue the festivities. It's Portman's round wide, and she's cut the lead to 39-37.

ROUND FIVE:

Coleman determined to stop the uprising right now. She's after Natalie aggressively immediately, but, Portman's got this down now. She's using the left jab to slow Jenna, then the feet to create the angles and spacing she wants. The challenger's frustration builds. She's bogged down and can't find a way to get rolling again. And, as that frustration builds, she gets sloppy. Uh. Oh. It's perfectly-timed, of course, this being Queen Natalie. It starts again with the left jab, which stops Coleman dead, just for a second, as she steps forward. But, a second is all Portman needs. BOOM goes the follow-on straight right and JENNA'S HURT! Coleman staggers and Portman lets the hands fly. A barrage of punches send Jenna stumbling backward and DOWN GOES COLEMAN! Challenger dropped on her back! And Portman standing over her staring down with that regal glare until the referee forces her to a neutral corner. Precious seconds lost before the count begins. When it does, Jenna rolls quickly to her belly, then pushes to hands and knees. She's pushing to her feet at seven...BEFORE CRASHING BACK TO THE CANVAS! Jenna's legs won't hold her and all she can do is stay face down on the mat sobbing in frustration as the count passes her by! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 and STILL Unified Flyweight Champion is Natalie Portman!

AFTER:

Security swarms the ring immediately. Everybody remembers what happened the last time, and the FCBA determined that there will be no repeat. Natalie nothing if not intelligent, can read the situation perfectly and makes no attempt to enact any further revenge, though, it's clear she'd love to. "I find it interesting," says the champion, "that security is buzzing around here tonight, but they were nowhere to be seen the last time. Be that as it may, however, my point has been made. The first time was a fluke. She simply got lucky. But, tonight, her luck ran out. And, as much as I'd have loved to...shall we say...repay her for what happened the last time, standing and watching her cry like a little girl was ALMOST worth not getting a chance to give her a taste of this tummy.
