BEFORE: A boxing fight between two French nationals on Bastille Day has become an annual BBU tradition and this year brings us a clash between two veterans that still want to prove a point. Former FCBA champion Laetitia Casta has switched to European market full-time but lost both her last outings to Natalie Eva Marie and Lily Aldridge which some pundits quickly dismissed as a sign for the model to think better off it and retire from active competition. Meanwhile Berenice Marlohe has also tasted little success in the past couple of years and the defeat to hard-punching Petra Nemcova could have a long-lasting effect on the former Bond girl's durability. BBU TV's Georgie Thompson reckons Marlohe was rushed in for the annual Bastiile Day event and someone like Malika Menard would be a more suitable opponent for Casta but the Foxfire Atlantic brunette has chosen the FCBA Crossover PPV opportunity over another BBU outing here at the Parc des Princes tonight.

Berenice Marlohe wears a black bikini set with red & white trim and blue gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curly ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Both women waste little time in their efforts to please the partisan crowd however Berenice earns a little louder applause being born in the French capital after all. She smacks through Casta's high guard and snaps her head back but the model responds in equally bruising fashion and settle in the trigger-happy stance for a while until one of Marlohe's punches wobbles the blonde onto her heels and forces a switch in tactics. These long-legged models aren't exactly the most agile boxers out there and Laetitia's age as well as wear & tear isn't helping her either but Berenice just misses her pursuit to trap her along the ropes and make the most out of her advantage. Casta shuts down the brunette's progress with stubborn clinching but still eats several clubbing punches to the body as Marlohe groans in her efforts to underline her promising perfornance during the opening three minutes.

Round 2:
One would have thought the blonde's supreme experience advantage gives her enough poise to stay away from another flyweight-like punchfest but apparently this logic doesn't apply when national pride is on the line - on Bastille Day no less. She tackles the actress with a furious jabbing galore but bounces off the high guard too often to make the desired impact. Berenice shows some nifty moves to dance around her hard-working opponent and settles in a counter-punching stance however these single strikes don't tame the blonde's aggression. Both women almost clash heads a couple of times and Laetitia wrestles the brunette back to the ropes to avoid losing another point-blank range tangle but Marlohe dominates the switch downstairs and pierces the model's midsection to run away with the meaningful punches late on.

Round 3:
Berenice has noticed that her aggressive approach neutralizes Laetitia's favorite status and keeps flying in with the aerial attacks. However she lacks that truly big punch to sink the model into more trouble. With national pride at stake, Casta keeps coming at her opponent despite lacking the creativity but Georgie Thompson reckons she can land a potential haymaker at any time. The third round fails to deliver the fireworks but both women frantically throw leather at each other and score one-off success without breaking the deadlock. It's more like a lightweight contest between two women in their 30s now but the partisan crowd doesn't really sound too upset with the quality of this bout dropping below the elite standards.

Round 4:
Berenice starts off well and pierces the blonde's guard to connect with her boobs in a hectic close range dust-up but fails to stretch her elbows thereafter and gets countered over the top with Laetitia zipping through on the temples and rocking the actress backwards. Marlohe tries to swing one from the back foot but misjudges her range and loses her footing which in turn allows the older woman to crash into her lips with a quick left/right combo. Casta works up from there and buries the brunette under a solid leather assault that reels Marlohe into the ropes and keeps her trapped when the model connects with more hooks to the body. Berenice's punching resistance was always one of her weakest assets and Casta takes full advantage of that scoring her best round to date and leaving the former Bond girl in painful spasms at the bell.

Round 5:
Laetitia jumps on the comeback route and jabs furiously upstairs however Berenice's clearly upset by that poor showing in the fourth and joins the collision course which results in a bad-tempered close range exchange during the opening minute. Both women give each other no quarter as they moan in their efforts to take each other's head off but the red mist mode hurts the execution and provides very few clean punches. The ones that find the target make no impact whatsoever and both women wear each other off before settling in another lenghty wrestling delay at the ropes. Casta uses her rack to bump the brunette back to the ropes and Marlohe struggles to spike her ribcage as effectively as she did earlier in this bout. The ref tries to separate both hellcats in the final seconds of the round but they prefer to await the half-distance marker and ignore his efforts.

Round 6:
Casta beats the actress for a left-on-left approach and tags her chin before adding a furious uppercut that catches Marlohe clean on target. Ugh! The younger woman sinks briefly on suspiciously jelly knees and the blonde cranks it up immediately firing from both flanks and piercing Berenice's high guard at will. The actress almost trips over her own feet as she tries to adjust her balance but can't stay away from the aerial attack and her head snaps back & forth underneath a heavy blonde assault. That's the best from Casta we've seen all night and she wraps a yelping Marlohe in more dismay come the final minute when she pounds her into the ropes and lays into her body; Berenice's moans are much louder than before and her guard collapses for good when Laetitia tears a patch under her left eye in the final seconds and hauls in a brutal hook on the temple that half-spins the brunette against the turnbuckle. The ref jumps in at the bell to prevent the model from landing any extra shots but Casta waves her glove in delight and keeps her eyes glued on the slumped foe who can barely make it back to her corner.

Round 7:
Laetitia digs deep into all her past experience and pushes for Bastille Day glory... and of course she succeeds in pounding her opponent into more spasms as she bursts through Marlohe's guard and snaps her head back so furiously the former Bond girl checks down into a high earmuff instead of lashing out with a counter-punching assault like she did before. However there's no stopping the former FCBA champion anymore who shuts the brunette's eyes with a mighty jabbing drive before blasting her on the left eye to tear another swollen patch and spin her back to the ropes. Berenice bounces off them in seemingly deadmeat mode and can't keep her arms in tact as the blonde punts her to the orbit with a monster right hook on the chin! Ugh! That could break some bones with a little luck! MARLOHE SPAWLS DOWN ON THE CANVAS with eyes closed and aches out in pain so much that the ref hesitates before pressing on with the count. It's basically a foregone conclusion and since Berenice stays face down at seven, he mercifully waves the bout off! KO7 Laetitia Casta!!!

AFTER: That was a heavy knockout in the end as the blonde model rolled back some years to indicate she can still steal some headlines on this side of the Atlantic! Many pundits and fans would like to see her clash with the best French fighter in the BBU right now and Laetitia is the first one to address the proverbial elephant in the room: "Of course I'd like to take a shot at 'Le Grande' Malika. She's got a thing going back in the States but I bet we won't have to wait until next year's Bastille Day to settle our little dispute. Well, there is no dispute at all. She's younger and well, maybe not exactly prettier but she's right there. And I really wish her all the best. But since I'm not done laying these girls out yet, we could market this as the true fight of the titans (laugh). Berenice was doing OK until I almost broke her jaw! That should really silence some critics! What bugs me the most is the negative press I hear way too often. Must be that old hack Murdoch again... I'm the most successful FCBA fighter who's ever considered a full-time BBU comeback and I really can't stand all the love for Kelly Brook for all people! But for now, it's Vive la France you bloody fools!" (laughs).
