BEFORE: Both these women have met in the Mr. Marcus Invitational tournament over three years ago but tonight the stakes are much higher as Cheryl Cole begins the defense of her flyweight title she wrestled away from BBU's pound-for-pound leader Jenna-Louise Coleman. On the other hand Amelle Berrabah has won six of her last seven fights and is widely regarded as one of the most overlooked elite performers in the 110 lbs division.

Cheryl Cole wears a black & white vertically striped bikini top, black knickers and blue gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a half-up ponytail. Amelle Berrabah wears a red bikini top, yellow knickers and matching yellow gloves. Long dark brown loose & straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
There's just no love between these two as old tempers flare straight from the bell but Cheryl is that little more effective as she jabs through Amelle's high guard and snaps her head back early. Still riding a hot streak on her own, Amelle hasn't graced the ring this year and the lenghty spell on the sidelines perhaps shows against the Geordie babe who competes every other month on both sides of the Atlantic. This difference in intensity grows with every second and Cole simply outworks her rival in close range before thumping her into the ropes and scything across the lips. Berrabah throws several punches from the back foot but can't shake off the Geordie heat and looks visibly upset at the bell.

Round 2:
Amelle storms into contention beating the champion for a quick overhand but lacks the precision neccessary to sustain a lenghty attack and Cheryl dances around these efforts down the stretch before launching a counter-punching assault. There's nothing to choose between them in sheer intensity but the bruises begin to pile up on Berrabah's face as Cheryl sticks mitts on target in more effective fashion. However Amelle manages to avoid getting pushed into the ropes and tears a nasty cut under the fellow brunette's eye come the final minute which finally slows Cole's progress and forces both women into a lenghty clinch in the dying seconds of the round.

Round 3:
Here we go again and Amelle really fancies working around that cut she gave Cheryl before but becomes too predictable with her overhand attacks and Cole is as determined as ever to dictate the pace of the action. She outworks the younger brunette in close range again and stuffs her up with a swift hook to the body that catches the former Sugababes performer by surprise. Another wild hook pierces the liver area and makes the Aldershot girl squeal in pain and Cole steps right in with a massive uppercut blast on the jaw that spins the aching foe into the ropes. Berrabah bounces straight off into a left/right combo that bursts her lips into a bloody mess and she drops her guard alltogether so the champion hauls in another monster drive that nails Amelle on the temples... AND THE CHALLENGES GOES DOWN!!! Some raw flyweight power on display from the Geordie's finest and Amelle simply went down in a heap! Chezza shakes her gloves in delight but quickly struts back to her corner and Berrabah needs a full eight count to shake it off! She vows to regain her composure but looks a little hollow in the eyes and lacks the agility to avoid a follow up rush from the champion who's definitely smelled some blood here... Cole wraps her up in a heavy jabbing assault and pounds back to the ropes, those are brutal strikes that dissect Berrabah's confidence wholesale and allthough she avoids more facial damage, she gets picked off to the liver area and wobbles forward in another moaning struggle. Ugh! Cheryl seemingly wants to chop her in half and hammers in so many punches poor Amelle screams out in pain every single one of them AND GOES DOWN ON HER KNEES AGAIN!!! This is Cheryl Cole at her absolute best and she simply beat the stuffing out of Amelle Berrbahah right there! The fallen Sugababe hugs her aching midriff and bends her head against the canvas but she's done here and the ref doesn't even bother with the count! KO3 Cheryl Cole in tremendous title-defending fashion!!!

AFTER: Getting the better of the seemingly invincible Jenna Coleman was downright impressive but there's so much pure determination left in Cheryl Cole that her reign was simply destined to deliver a performance like that. It's clear that the Geordie babe has improved a lot since she last knocked Amelle Berrabah back in March of 2014 and some of the Sugababes fans must now wonder if their favorites can ever topple the former Girls Aloud leader ever again? Of course there's another valid question regarding Cole's future BBU opponents and fellow Geordie Jade Thirlwall looms as the most obvious target since former X Factor protegee Cher Lloyd had been uppended by Diana Korkunova not that long ago. There are several women who hate Cheryl Cole - or are simply jealous of her incedible run of success both in and out of the ring - but the fact remains that the 34 year old brunette is going nowhere and has elevated herself to the absolute top of the BBU glamour rankings - where she always belonged.
