BEFORE:
Classic battle of Hollywood franchises as we heat up this event with two smoldering women who’ve made a name for themselves on the big screen. Keira Knightley just an innocent dove when she wowed audiences in the first Pirates movie as Elizabeth Swan. She’s been a staple of the series ever since - case being the newest and latest installment just not the same without her. Today, she’s wiser, with far more bite, striding confidently to the ring in black sports bra and grey shorts. 

Jordan always a background figure in the Fast & Furious movies, but that didn’t stop audiences from sitting up to take notice each time she showed up on screen. Whilst mostly leaving the fighting to fellow actress Michelle Rodriguez, Jordan has graced the gloves on plenty of occasion, and what better way to return to the ring with a bout with recently stable-less Keira Knightley? She’s decked in slender white bikini tonight, waving to fans as she makes her way down the ramp. 

Girls go nose-to-nose in front of the cameras, looking confident and ready to rumble. Almost identical in height and weight, both have proven themselves as dangerous opponents in the past. Bell rings and with a touch of gloves, here we go!

ROUND 1:
At the risk of sounding cliche, here comes Brewster moving fast and furious... The lanky brunette is moving nothing like her age, a combination of rapid jabs and hook combos frustrating Keira’s comeback chances early on. The Brit struggling to stay afloat as her focus on defense means her attacks either not landing or countered easily by Jordana. Hellish moves from a girl not known for her power - but hey, neither is Knightley known to bulldoze her opponents through and through. Result is Keira left in the lurch as she tries to kick her own arse into high gear but can't quite pull it off with the constant barrage of punches towards her face. Third minute goes by and she’s already panting hard on the ropes. Can she even survive the next round?

ROUND 2:
Keira knows what to expect this round, but she still can't quite stem the bleeding. First minute sees similar rough and aggressive action from Brewster, who hounds her with punches that start to sound like they’re hurting. Keira grunting along, face full of concentration as she concentrates on deflecting the light blows whilst moving from side to side at the same time. Her fancy footwork actually beginning to work, avoiding Jordana’s wild attacks towards the end of the round and allowing her to punch back bit by bit. Jordana’s turn to slow down as the punches start flying towards her own face, now scarred by precise jabs from Knightley, who starts driving her back in reverse. Jordana’s corner with worried faces as they see their girl getting driven back, shout at her to DEFEND. Jordana doing so, criss-crossing punches by weaving to left and then socking Keira on the mouth, rinse repeat. Round ends with Keira with a slightly bloodied lip from a cut, but the doctor patches it up and clears her to fight. Keira makes known she’s not to be trifled with or underestimated - she takes the round by close margin and sends Jordana a ‘Don’t you mess with me’ message.

ROUND 3:
Brewster however doesn’t get the freakin’ memo, because here she comes again, using quicker feet to crowd Keira off early, flicking jabs at her the moment the bell rings. Knightley has to be careful - she looks like she’s treading in dangerous waters and won’t hold out for much longer with this amount of pressure on her. Still, the Brit valiantly dealing with the flurry of oncoming blows. Lucky break comes for her middle of the minute when she weaves back out of the way of a wild right hook, SLAM returns a right hand straight up into Jordan’s face, stunning her. Brewster’s eyes wilt at that surprise punch, but STILL she keeps on swinging wildly. Keira invigorated, however, charges forward recklessly… RIGHT into another wayward hook that crashes into her cheek from the side! Girls both get a dose of pain medicine as they resume wild sticking of leather into each other in close quarters, clinching up and burying more lefts and rights into mutual tummies. Jordana landing more punches overall however as she exploits her speed and just drills glove to the belly over and over. Keira grunting, eyes bulging from the impacts, but maintains control of the clinch, knows her opponent’s attacks are hurting but they’re mostly without power. Instead, she hurts Jordana back with her own powerful dig of mitts into the side of rib-cage, eliciting more squeals than her own. 

ROUND 4:
That must have done it - Jordana looking slightly injured at the bell during the last round, now limping on one side out of her corner as she looks to resume brawling. But hell - the lean girl ain’t meant for sustained back-and-forth, and truth be told - neither is Keira. But Keira’s the one choosing her shots well previously, successfully hurting Jordana enough for her to surge ahead in this round. Jordana ignoring her own injuries to her peril, and when the two girls get in close enough all hell breaks loose, taking every opportunity to stick leather into faces or shove it up into chin, knocking heads back repeatedly in wild melee that’s as refined as their hit movies are like film noir. Keira surging ahead based on pure brawling power however when she JAMS a particularly nasty right hand straight into the lips, drawing a gurgle from Jordana. Stunned, Keira follows up with another left-right combo buried into her gut, which she takes with a grunt and then wraps arms up high to clinch. Keira snarling into ear, continues digging and pounding gloves into the sides, but Jordana escapes the knockdown this time. Referee has to pry them apart at the bell, with Jordana groggy and checking her lip for blood, whereas Keira catching her breath and wondering if she can continue at this rate of exertion.

ROUND 5:
Jordana not her spritely self no longer, eyes wary as Keira barrels into her hard and strong. Face getting hit from multiple directions as Knightley picks her targets and shoots the jab in bang bang blam! Jordana still clinging onto hope though, ducks under one or two fists and batters the Brit’s tummy with lefts and rights, until Keira gets wiser and meets the base of her jaw with a timely “F*cking wanker!” and follow-up uppercut that connects, just as Jordana tries to duck under another one! Jordana certainly didn't see that coming - her luck runs out as head snaps back at painful angle - she reels back towards the ropes in a wild scramble of arms and legs. Determined Knightley chasing her down to finish what she began. Hooks left and right blast her guard to the wind, leaving her wide open for a haymaker STRAIGHT to the face! UNGHH. She’s a dead woman walking, swaying back and then leaning forward... with a groan Brewster PLOPS face-down into canvas, completely knocked out! It’s OVER folks!

Official Decision: Keira Knightley defeats Jordana Brewster via KO5!

AFTER:
A big win for Ms Knightley, after so long apart from ring action she showed determined form and punching power tonight, whereas her opponent not as lucky, dominating the early conversation but then quickly losing steam and letting Keira’s better stamina take her down.

Jordana sulking in the corner but at the same time not sure how else she could have put her opponent away. Keira graciously approaches to congratulate on the good effort, and the two girls share a mutual nod of respect before parting ways. 

Keira’s star still shining brightly, no doubt, even after that shock folding of her previous stable. This girl’s a champion in the making - if only she’s able to get the due representation she deserves in a new stable.
