"Every armchair booker always demands fights like this, and for good reason," explained Christina Hendricks. "We're both well regarded TV actresses, plus Sofia is lovely and I hear a few nice compliments about my own looks every now and then. And... That's it? Well, no matter today the fans get what they want!" Hendricks paused, and added "Or at least the fans that want to see me turn Sofia into a battered unconscious lump." Vergara wore her excitement more openly. "Christina is my dream opponent. Glamorous, gorgeous, and capable in a fight." She changed tone quickly. "But if she wants to push me around before we even get in the ring? I'm ready for whatever Christina brings, and I'm going to pound her until her body completely gives out."

On fight night, most of the animosity seemed to have vanished. Both actresses seemed more interested in putting on a cute show, posing for pictures, and indirectly competing for attention, and ignored each other during setup. Vergara wore gold trunks and a sports bra, and managed to battle Hendricks to a draw in the popularity contest. Hendricks, in a pink sports bra and shorts, didn't react.

Round 1:
The two actresses faced off, gloves raised, jabbing at each other from a distance. Things escalated quickly as Vergara lunged in to put her weight behind a right cross. Hendricks wasn't quick enough to dodge it, but rolled with it well enough to turn it into an indirect hit and struck back, putting Vergara on the defense at the middle of the round. Vergara played it safe for a while, then went on the attack near the close of the round, landing a straight left into a right hand against the redhead's face. The round ended with neither woman looking particularly satisfied with the results.

Round 2:
Hendricks, looking to punish Vergara, took a turn on the attack early. Under a constant barrage of punches, the brunette struggled and parried, then began to wilt as Hendricks caught her solidly on the chin. Vergara spent an instant off balance, but closed the distance and forced a clinch. After being separated by the referee, an angry Hendricks shot for a repeat performance, only to be surprised by Vergara's right fist striking her nose. With some more respect for her rival, Hendricks paced herself for an otherwise uneventful round, and Vergara did not force a showdown either.

Round 3:
After a short break, Hendricks was ready to attack again. When the redhead charged, Vergara showed signs of wilting away. The brunette fought hard to maintain a standstill, unable to push back against Hendricks and always seemingly one mistake away from a sudden finish to the fight. Things took a turn for the worse for Vergara in the final minute when Hendrix snuck a solid right hook through her guard, clubbing the side of her head and making her sidestep unsteadily to regain her balance. This was all of the opportunity that Hendricks needed to drive her left fist straight into Vergara's nose, knocking her head back and leaving her with a confused look in her eyes. Vergara covered up and held on through the final seconds, limping back to her corner in one piece.

Round 4:
Bruised but not slowed down, Vergara did her best to give something back to Hendricks in the fourth. Hendricks matched her enthusiasm early on, but as Vergara scored a hit below her ribs here and a strike to the jaw there, the redhead grew less energetic. Soon she was giving more ground and absorbing more punishment, looking much more worn down as Vergara landed a straightforward haymaker to her cheek in the closing minute.

Round 5:
Vergara's fans who celebrated early in the previous round were disappointed in the fifth when Hendricks emerged strong as ever. The two actresses clashed head on, with enough self preservation to show that neither expected to end the fight with the next hit, but with enough enthusiasm to show that they might like to. After a brief struggle it was obvious that Vergara would not get her way. Hendricks had bashed her on the jaw with a left hook, and while Vergara fought hard, she was consistently an instant too late. Hendricks took all she could for every last second she had. The redhead's fists found Vergara's midsection again and again, leaving her doubled over and gasping for breath. As Vergara retreated, Hendricks penned her in, tagging her in the face when she showed any sign of escaping. The round ended with a wounded Vergara backed into the corner, swinging at Hendricks to buy time and earning a fist in the mouth for her trouble.

Round 6:
Puffy faced and unsteady, Vergara threw herself at Hendricks at the start of the sixth round. Hendricks met her charge, trading punches in a violent exchange. Seconds later, the redheaded actress found herself stumbling forward to land on her hands and knees after Vergara's fist struck her head. Vergara bent over at the waist and shut her eyes, her hands resting on her knees as she sighed, relieved. Hendricks, however, pushed herself upright before the halfway point of the count, gesturing dismissively at the referee and pacing back and forth impatiently. When the action resumed, Hendricks took the role of the aggressor, breaking through Vergara's defenses rapidly and punishing her with a straight armed punch to the nose. Vergara stopped on the spot at the moment of impact, and Hendricks let loose, putting her on the run. Soon, Hendricks landed a blow to Vergara's face dead center, and the curvy brunette fell back. Landing on her butt, Vergara only barely caught herself with one hand behind her back, propping herself up in an unsteady sitting position. The dazed actress stared at the canvas for a few seconds before leaning forward to her hands and knees, pushing herself upright with her arms and legs shaking from the effort. Hendricks, smirking, tapped her foot. Vergara raised her head, furious, and put up her fists, stepping forward when the referee signalled. Hendricks feinted left, then lunged right, connecting with the side of Vergara's face. The brunette went limp at the moment of impact, falling backwards and landing with her arms raised, out cold. The referee immediately called the fight -- KO6 Hendricks.

Pink cheeked and pacing back and forth, Hendricks waited impatiently for the referee's signal to end the fight... and then pounced. The powerful redhead was fully airborne for a moment, arms and legs outstretched, before landing in a body to body splash on her unconscious victim. Vergara, still far away in dreamland, jiggled from the impact, then lay still as Hendricks pinned her flat. Face to face with her beaten enemy, Hendricks lifted her head, eyes wide, and scooted forward, holding the helpless woman down firmly. Vergara slept soundly through the ordeal, though any reaction she might have had was obscured by Hendricks chest covering her face, thankfully loosely.

Eventually, a team of officials managed to pry Hendricks off.

"I'm not sure what came over me!" commented Hendricks later, after taking some time to cool off. Vergara was awake and recovering, but not ready to make a public appearance. "I think she hit me pretty hard and I wasn't quite myself. I definitely remember pounding on her and landing that last punch that finished her off." Hendricks considered her memory. "I think I earned a little bit of Sofia as my prize in that fight, and I must have thought... Well, she's so lovely and precious, someone must want to steal her from me! So I had to scare them off. She's all better now, isn't she?"
