Before: “Yes, this will be my FCBA debut,” says Nathalie in the pre-fight meeting. “Up now I have been limited to private bouts and backstage sparring. We’re a very competitive bunch of ladies on ‘Thrones’, but this will be my first time against Sophie. She is further along in celebrity boxing than I am, but I think I can work hard enough to cut the distance. I have some suspicion is not quite the ‘Lightweight of Tomorrow’ that some in the press have called her. If she has weaknesses, I assure you, I will find them out and take advantage.”

Nathalie gives Sophie at intimidating “game face.” Sophie seems surprised at first, but then this turns to annoyance.

“I certainly have never referred to myself as the ‘Lightweight of Tomorrow’. I do expect I will fight my way to a bright future—unlike some people I might mention. Nathalie should stop listening to backstage sparring gossip. I don’t claim to be the perfect fighter—I don’t think anyone is—but any weaknesses she finds, I will correct them and send her down to the canvas in return.”

Sophie then gives Nathalie a stony glare. No much more in the way of fireworks, but the icy feelings still quite present as the two enter the ring. Sophie is in red bikini with matching gloved and boots. Nathalie is in a black bikini with gokld gloves and boots (black laces). Sophie’s red hair and Nathalie’s black hair pulled back into ponytail. Ring instructions are cold, but polite. Then when they are to touch gloves, they ram them together with a SMACK that startles the crowd. Referee looks alarmed, but the young women turn away and march to their corners. Moments later the bell rings…

During R1: NATHALIE GOES DOWN! Innocent approach, girls just taking a look – Sophie just twitching the jab, stepping into a rising hook - Emmanuel lifted off her feet and set down rudely on her rump for a quick, startling 8. Rest of the way competitive - Nathalie showing good resilience, but on the run - Sophie with the right tight to her cheek, strong stepping jabs, looking to hook and tidy up straight rights to the bell.

R2,3: Emmanuel shakes off Sophie's hook, shows some slick, cute moves in bamboozling Turner for both these round. Nathalie fighting with the right under her chin, left low - she's very supple at the waist, bending and moving her head, turning her shoulders to the left, dipping and tucking hooks in under Sophie's ribs - turning her shoulders to the right to ride with Sophie's right, answering back with blunt straight rights up the middle. Nathalie's fists very quick, surprisingly sharp - nice doubled up hook head and waist, snapping up-jab off the hip, dart-and-retract right hands and constant upper body movement - Turner flustered in pursuit these rounds, basically nibbled up by sly, busy counterpunching from Emmanuel .

R4: Turner abandoning Nathalie's elusive head for now - shooting jabs to shoulders and upperchest to locate her foe instead. Good move – Sophie able to fix Nathalie, find her with glancing rights and score with healthy hooks strapped across the ribs – rival in retreat, feeling the weight of Sophie's mitts. Down the stretch, Emmanuel shows that lithe class to turn it all around. Sophie misses a right cross as Sam twists her shoulders left, dips under it and licks hook to liver with a shivering stroke. Sophie cramping up - Nathalie with a nice little shoulder bump in close, spaces redhead out, hooks her mouth, puts a tidy right on the chin, then tucks that hook back in snug above the trunkline. Turner staring, on her heels and Nathalie keeps at her - Emmanuel dipping, twisting, punching as she bobs and weaves - it's wonderful stuff and Sophie's pelted and poked to the ropes. Sophie covers up dazed - Emmanuel releases – pretty brunette beat down as Nathalie lathers hooks, digs up belly meat, clouts ear and chin with clubbing rights and right uppercuts. Turner all rung up at the bell - Nathalie with a catlike grin as she bops back to her corner - she steals the round and takes the lead going into the fifth.

R5: Sophie not looking herself - sluggish, discouraged - she's having trouble locating the kid and meanwhile, Emmanuel 's sampling Sophie's goodness at will. First minute - Nathalie really embarrasses former champ - slipping the jab and sliding her hook in on Sophie's teeth, dipping under the right and tucking her hook into Turner's tummy and ribs. Sophie's legs buckle for the first time - by the second minute Emmanuel 's moved from counter to lead and backing Turner up. Emmanuel very cute - always dipping and twisting as she punches - even though she's right in front of Soph, she's not easy to tag and meanwhile, she's very busy, very accurate with her little fists tearing up choice redhead rib, tit and chin. Down the stretch, Sam torques into a hook that straightens Sophie at the ropes - quick right hand, follow up hook puts Sophie wobbly butt and crowd roars to it's feet as Emmanuel unleashes. Turner all cramped up, face in her gloves, stooped forward hurt - Nathalie romping to the bell, face sunny and happy, fists tidying up downstairs, clip-clip-clipping chin - nice tight curling arcs from Emmanuel as she shuts Sophie out and beats her ass in the fifth. Scored 10-8 without the knockdown - Turner staring, in emotional turmoil as the newcomer takes veteran's lunch money this round.

R6: Nathalie going at Sophie with NO respect - Turner just doesn't have any answers. Emmanuel with that compact, cute delivery, dipping and tucking in either side, putting punches together, making Sophie miss with little shoulder turns and bobs - Turner so discouraged. Sophie covering up, laying on the ropes, stooping forward - Nathalie dressing her up, but not heavy handed in doing so. Breezy Emmanuel shutout till the final minute - Sophie bending low, soaking up tapping body shots, when she sudden comes out of the crouch with a that thunderclap hook and NATHALIE GOES DOWN! Emmanuel dropped to her back this time and not bouncing up from it - Missandei is HURT, eyelashes fluttering, mouth parted - Turner glaring down as she stalks to neutral corner. Emmanuel gutty enough to beat the count, but nearly pitches forward after ref wipes off her gloves - ON COMES Turner! Sophie wading in like a pro - punching Emmanuel to the body with bloodcurdling savagery, then bumping her upright to hook her chin. Feeding frenzy - Turner working upstairs and down, propping Nathalie, working her with hooks and straight right hands as her rival's defense crumbles AND THE REF STEPS IN! TKO6 Sophie Turner as Nathalie breaks down into weary tears in the man's grasp.

After: Sophie glaring at Nathalie as her gloves are removed and Nathalie helped to her stool. As soon as she sees Nathalie revived, Sophie storms across the room and confronts the woozy rookie.

“You think I am overrated now?” Sophie demands.

“You aren’t as good as you think you are,” Nathalie says defiantly. “I nearly beat you and if I ever get another chance I will beat you.”

Sophie with a cry to frustration drags Nathalie to her feet: “Then this ‘overrated fighter’ is going to take you around the ring to show the crowd who beat you.”

Nathalie getting her spirit back: “Go ahead—but you just won a fight. You haven’t beaten me down! Not a chance.”

Sophie hauls Nathalie around the ring, but Nathalie smiles broadly and waves like she has won. Sophie is flustered at this behavior and cuts the walk short to shove Nathalie back into her corner.

“Hope to see you soon, Sophie!” Nathalie calls with derision.

Sophie stomps away and refuses to discuss Nathalie. Nathalie happy to talk about Sophie and how Nathalie NEARLY beat her. All very aggravating for young Sophie—but old hands think that’s just what Nathalie was doing.
