MELISSA BENOIST VS KIRA KOSARIN

Before: “I am very excited,” young dark-haired Kira K tells the assembled press, “I wasn’t expected to beat Blake Lively in our stable war with Ginny’s Academy, but I took her out. Now I get to take on another Puncher. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the PLP because I made my debut beating the snot out of Sasha Pieterse. Now I get take on Supergirl. Hey, don’t ‘forget I play a superhero on TV, too. You’re looking at ‘Thunder Girl’ of ‘The Thundermans’ on Nickelodeon! If anyone can kick Kara Zor-El’s ass it’s me ‘Phoebe Thunderman’. I have my fight career on track and it’s about run over Melissa Benoist. Nothing personal, Melissa, but I am feeling very hot and ready to take you out!”

Melissa eying Kira’s chirpy podium performance with bemusement: “I realize that finally winning a fight again after you got KO’d by Ashley Green and Chloe Bennet has gone to your head, Kira. However it is going to take more than an inflated ego to beat me. Sasha remembers you Kira and she’s been very helpful in getting me ready to face you. You may beat a Puncher but there is always another ready to make you pay for it!”

“Oooo, I’m scared now, ‘Sweet Trunks Sasha’ is giving you advice on how to beat me,” Kira sneered, “I am a much better fighter than I was then. You can check with Blake Lively if you don’t believe that.”

“Oh please, you are just another mouthy rookie and I should remind you young lady that I have won my last three fights over Summer Glau, Hailee Steinfeld and Elizabeth Olson. It’s going to be my pleasure making you my #4,” says an irked Melissa.

“But none of those girls you beat were me! ‘KO Kira’ is about to claim another victim. It’s not a brag if you can actually do it,” Kira concluded.

Melissa shrugs: “I can see nothing will shake you but defeat and I assure you it’s coming—from me. Remember I said that.”

“Oh, I will, I will,” Kira assured her with a smirk.

On fight night, we find Melissa in red high-waisted trunks and a blue halter top with blue gloves and red boots. Blonde hair in a ponytail. Kira’s in a black bikini with black boots and gloves. Dark hair in a ponytail. Although there is a certain chill between the fighters, the ring instructions go smoothly and with the custoimary glove tap, the fighters are back in their corners. Then the bell rings and the fight begins.

R1: Melissa moving calmly as Kira comes charging in with some wild head-hunting rights and lefts that the blonde ducks under. Melissa then pops Kira in the jaw and moves forward driving hooks into her belly. Kira falling back in distress, but she does get up a respectable jab to give Melissa some stiff blows to the forehead and the bridge of her nose. Melissa starts moving around, trying to make Kira miss, but Kira quickly learns the trick. Melissa now startling Kira with some bra busting straight shots to her bikini top. Melissa stung, goes for Melissa’s bikini top but Melissa willing to take some jugg as long as she can stuff hooks into Kira’s belly and force the dark-haired young beauty into retreat. Melissa makes some effort to work Kira into the ropes, but Kira won’t have it and stays clear of the strands to the bell. Nevertheless there is no doubt Melissa Benoist has won this round wide.

R2: Melissa now applies heavier pressure by working her way in close and pumping punch after punch into Kira’s body. However Kira resisting with increasingly well-placed counters to Melissa’s body (special attention to the Benoist breasts). Melissa grinding ahead despite the defensive leather she is absorbing finally drives Kira back with hooks to the belly and, finally connects to the chin to rattle the brunette. Kira continues her stubborn resistance to the bell and cuts Melissa’s margin of victory to a narrow one.

R3: Kira sees Melissa headed in on her, but she ready with a quick counterstrike left/right to the jaw. Melissa recoils on shaky legs, gloves instinctively up around her face, but Kira then gets free-rein on a body busting attack on Melissa’s torso. Melissa backing away, trying to get her jab going, but she has to take a lot of shelling to the body before that jab kicks in enough to drive Kira back. Kira cut on the right cheekbone by one of Melissa’s jabs, ignores the dripping crimson as she shifts to right and left trying to keep Melissa off balance. Kira sees an opening and puts an overhand right into Melissa’s nose. Melissa rocked as a spurt of red comes from her afflicted nose. Melissa covering up as Kira pounds the blonde’s waistline to the bell and keeps her backing up to the bell. Judges apparently impressed and give the round wide to Kira Kosarin.

R4: Melissa seems determined to put down the Kira Kumback as she goes after the brunette hard with opening clouts to the head from the right and left. Kira staggered, but keeps on her feet and goes face in glove to steady herself as Melissa swarms around her pounding Kira’s flanks. Melissa now trying to work Kira to the ropes, but Kira proves good at avoiding this fate. Melissa starting to lunge at the retreating Kira. Then Kira suddenly comes out of the defensive posture and catches a lunging Melissa on the point of the chin with piledriver right. MELISSA GOES DOWN! Crowd gasps in shock as Kira’s sudden chin strike sends the blonde spilling forward onto all fours. She looks up at Kira in stunned surprise. Kira actually looking surprised herself, but quickly puts on a grin of triumph and skips to the neutral corner. Melissa struggling to rise finally makes it up by “EIGHT!” Melissa looking wobbly but insists to referee that she can continue. Referee waves Kira back in and now it’s Melissa going face in gloves as Kira attacks her side ribs. Time runs out as Kira’s knockdown steals what seemed like a sure-thing round for Melissa Benoist. Melissa makes it back to her stool, but she slumps there as Puncher corner crew works desperately on her. Meanwhile Kira is chipper and smiling as she sat on her stool.

R5: Melissa clearly making an effort to get going at the bell, but she looks sluggish as Kira comes closing in. Melissa has her guard up and is trying to jab Kira back, but brunette is now moving smoothly and firing punches in the same area of Melissa belly. Melissa being backed up despite her best efforts to hold off the surging Kira and her legs are showing signs of tremors. Then Kira steps to one side and drives a straight hard right over Melissa’s gloves and into her temple. Melissa shudders and teeters forward, gloves coming down and Kira sends a muscular right cross crashing into the side of the blonde’s chin. Melissa’s head swivels from the impact and then she just topples sideways. Melissa lands on her side and rolls over onto her face, arms at her sides, cheek resting against the canvas as Kira smiles happily and struts to the neutral corner. Kira watches with interest as the referee counts. Melissa awake and trying to rise, but the strength has gone out of her she begins to weep as the count goes passed “TEN!..YER OUT!”
After: Kira lets out an loud and exultant: “YESSSSSS!!!!” She raises both arms in victory as her fans cheer loudly. She strides over and places a boot on Melissa’s defeated bottom, raising her arms in victory once again and posing for pictures.
“Get off me!” Melissa groans.
“Oh good, you’re awake! On your feet, Pretty Little Puncher, Kira Kosarin has just punched your lights out too!”

“Shut up!” Melissa groans as she finds herself on her feet, but her knees are so watery that Kira is holding her up.

“Poor not-so-Supergirl—Thunder Girl has whupped your butt,” gloats Kira. “Now you know how Blake Lively and Sasha Pieterse felt.”

“Just let me sit down,” Melissa said.

“Oh, I will, but first a trip around the ring,” Kira said . She then half-drags, half-carries Melissa around the ring on a victory Walk of Shame. At the end she turns Melissa over to an angry Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario.

“Oooo, you two look mad at me,” Kira says, “this mean I get the chance to take out two more Punchers? I would love to do that.”

“Gloat while you can,” Troian Bellisario growls.
“You are going to answer for this,” Shay Mitchell adds as she and Troian try to comfort the devastated Melissa.

“Well, you know where to find me,” Kira says cheerfully. “You Punchers are just so much fun to beat. I’ll be glad to give you two the ego-deflating you deserve.”

“Coming from “Ms. Modesty’ that sounds so lame,” Troian snaps.

“But oh-so true,” Kira saysand sauntered back to her own corner where she congratulated by stablemates

The defeat of Melissa Benoist might not have been as big an upset as Kira Kosarin beating Blake Lively, but it certainly confirms the Bonzo Gym has a talented new fighter on their roster. Kira able to overcome strong initial rounds from Melissa and fight her way to victory over the last three rounds. Must be considered a setback for Melissa Benoist as her three-fight winning streak is snapped. Next fight vital for her in righting the ship Meanwhile fans are already discussing who management might send Kira against next and that is a very good question.
