Monday Night Boxing (from Melbourne, Australia)
Emily Browning vs Emma Roberts
(Downunder Boxing vs The Dollhouse)
(1-3, 1 KO vs 0-4)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: We are live at the Kooyong Stadium on the outskirts of Melbourne where hometown girl Emily Browning makes her long-awaited - by some - FCBA comeback tonight. The Australian flyweight contenders pool is paper-thin these days so any exposure help becomes useful even if the former 'Sucker Punch' lead heroine's record is nothing to write home about. Browning has won just a single FCBA bout in four attempts and that dates back to September 2012 when she stopped then-Front Street member Amanda Seyfried in what could be labelled as an upset.

She works the Front Street connection again tonight as she takes on former long-time Asylum Arena sparring partner Emma Roberts who was relieved from her Philadelphia-based stable contract in order to resume her active boxing career on a regular basis. Most pundits claim Emma was just a mere carpet sweeper over at the Asylum and one of Grand Wizard's designated groupies rather than a genuine boxing threat and her sparring record against the likes of Kristen Stewart or Jane Levy would make Samia Ghadie look like a superstar. Things got so desperate for the New Yorker she even took part in a special pushfest AHW gimmick against fellow no-name Julianna Guill just to stay alive on the managers' radar.

However Emma defied the odds when she got signed by the newcomers The Dollhouse last month and even BLONDE! Magazine staff doesn't understand what Carmen Electra saw in the 5'2" frame of a girl with an official 0-4 record in FCBA competition. Maybe it was the loud mouth as Emma tells 'Green & Gold' reporter Sarah Cumming that she's accepted the Browning fight just to blow her out of the water and considers the local favorite as the worst fighter this side of Atlantic Ocean. Asked about the postponed Emma Watson duell she points to the British girl being scared of fighting her but can anyone truly be scared of a fighter with such a dismal boxing record? The odds are stacked against Roberts tonight but at least she wins the pre-fight trash-talk contest with Browning refusing to comment on the blonde's remarks. She looks downright focused on the challenge ahead and so does the Downunder Boxing head trainer Nikki Visser.

Emily Browning wears a golden sports bra, green hotpants and black gloves. Medium-lenght auburn hair tied in a curly ponytail. Emma Roberts wears a pink crop top, white knee-high yoga shorts with the name 'Roberts' written on the side and pink & white gloves. Dyed icy blonde hair in a texture bob hairstyle. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls want to steal the headlines on their boxing comeback but Emma's superior movements lead the way during a hectic opener. She shows the local favorite no sympathy whatsoever and crashes into her face with a steady jabbing connection. Maybe Emily expected the tourist to be a little more cautious but Emma's new management chapter gives her previously unseen confidence and she stuffs the brunette in the center of the ring with a well-measured body assault. Emily's overhand attack bounces off the high guard too often to make a difference and she soon drops behind a tight earmuff which only fuels the blonde's work rate. Roberts pounds away with little accuracy come the final minute but Browning remains buried behind a desperate guard and fails to ride the counter-punching drill to salvage some Melbourne pride.

Round 2:
Emma looks really pumped after that impressive opener but she needs to hurt Emily physically if she wants to end her losing streak. She jumps into a trigger-happy offensive mode early in the second but fails to split the Aussie guard as effectively as she did before and Browning stuns her with a cross hooking combo that finds the nose and sinks the blonde on her heels. Ugh! Emma's defense has always been an issue and Emily packs more crisp shots from point-blank range to stuff the tourist against the ropes. Sarah Cumming believes both girls feel more comfortable while running from the front and it bodes well for a classic flyweight war of attrition. Emily cleans out Emma's breadbasket with a versatile switch to the body come the final minute and quite frankly neither of the two hellcats looks really durable based on the early evidence. Roberts groans a little louder than Browning did in the first but the Kooyong audience expects blood to be drawn soon!

Round 3:
The Dollhouse coach Kristanna Loken sounds more worried than her Downunder counterpart Nikki Visser over in the opposite corner as both trainers try to ignite more fire into this flyweight dust-up. One doesn't really need to convince these hellcats to be more aggressive but the defense is the main problem and all the pep talk goes out of the window when a girl gets punched straight in the nose a couple of times. Both girls suffer from this otherwise ineviteable misfortune early in the third which only pours cold water on their tactics going forward. Suddenly the fight becomes more cagey and the combatants tease each other with fake approach when seemingly a single combo on target can open the flood gates again. But neither Emily nor Emma show enough courage after splitting the opening two rounds so more words of encouragement are required from Nikki and Kristanna during the interval.

Round 4:
We're back to the classic leather bash in the fourth and Emily drives her mitts straight up the blonde's gut to secure the early domimance; Emma swings over the top but once again lacks basic precision and the local favorite cleans out her tummy before flicking a couple of crisp uppercuts that find the jaw and send Roberts reeling onto the ropes. The American manages to escape getting trapped but spends majority of the round in constant retreat which only fuels the brunette's desire to further punish her. However Browning just can't land the intended flurry of punches until the final thirty seconds when Emma simply runs out of gas and can't dominate the footwork battle anymore. She wobbles underneath the hooking swing and collapses against the turnbuckle when Browning turns up the heat late, a nasty series upstairs snaps the blonde's head back and dumps her into spasms but more worryingly, there's blood coming from a cut over the right eye now and both Emily and coach Visser think that could finally break the tourist's resilience tonight. However Roberts looks downright annoyed rather than dismayed by that wound she'd picked up.

Round 5:
Coach Loken is mainly responsible for Emma keeping the battle spirit alive; the Aussie hosts think they've got the girl beat but Browning pays a heavy price for this error of judgement. She lacks the evil spark while tackling the allegedly aching American to the body and gets BLASTED with a vicious cross on the mouth which is quickly followed by a quick hook on the jaw... Uh-oh.. Emily wobbles to her heels with a loud whimper and then gets stuffed when Roberts lands another nasty cross on the lips... a sudden flurry of punches from the New Yorker sends the local heroine onto the ropes where there's more juice coming from the tourist. She wraps Browning in a leather frenzy and picks her off hand over first, this time the lack of accuracy plays no part since there's too much fire coming from Roberts and the brunette simply gets stunned by the rough treatment. The defense hasn't been her strong suit before and she wilts under the barrage but also begins to leak blood from the wounded lips as Emma really turns on the head hunting pursuit. She shatters the Aussie guard and leaves her opponent literally choking on spasms at the bell in a massive turnaround performance!

Round 6:
Emma was supposed to be tailing off before the fifth and now Emily IS tailing off right in front of the partisan Kooyong audience. She fails to recover from the beating she took just minutes ago and gets wrapped in another leather frenzy... Emma barks and shouts with every punch she slams into the brunette's face and Emily gets quickly dumped on her heels, she tries to swing a desperate counter effort but only bounces off the blonde's shoulders and eats more ripping shots from point-blank range that add further damage to the already wounded lips. She begins to leak blood again and shrieks out her misery while Emma finally delivers the lethal combo... she NAILS the trembling Aussie with a piledriver on the right eye and drops her for the count with a heavy follow up that finds the temple from the other side... BROWNING'S LEGS CRUMBLE UNDERNEATH HER and she ends up in a smoking pile of heap at the blonde's feet. There's no way even the slowest of counts can save her anymore and it's KO6 Emma Roberts!!!

AFTER: It's a ground-breaking success for both Emma and The Dollhouse crew. And one could say they've earned it the hard way. Emma looked to be in serious trouble after the fourth and Emily must be rightfully criticized for not getting the job done when she had the tourist rattled. It's a huge opportunity missed for the Melbourne babe and they don't come around very often in this league. Sarah Cumming doubts whether the petite stunner fancies a lenghty career as the second coming of JoJo Levesque aka everyone's go-to-girl when in pursuit of a mandatory win.

All eyes on Emma and Kristanna during the otherwise muted post-fight ceremonies, this simply isn't the result the hosts anticipated and perhaps mercifully, Emily's been rendered semi-conscious by that final drive from the New Yorker so any humiliation ideas are dead on arrival. Truth be told, Emma looks too relieved to even follow up on the pre-fight trash talk but a lot of credit for this victory must be given to the head trainer who somehow ignited that evil spark into Roberts' tactics. The defense is still vulnerable and would be easily exposed by elite performers but there's every chance the icy blonde steals the artistic impression marks with her aggressive style going forward. And there are enough girls on the 110 lbs roster who can soak up far less punishment than Emily Browning did tonight so Emma's win column is destined to improve sooner rather than later.

Final result: Emma Roberts def. Emily Browning KO6.
