Olympia Valance vs Nicola Roberts

BEFORE:
Olympia Valance defeated Nicola Roberts' stablemate and ex-Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh last November but apparently the Lioness Club pride requires these two singers to back each other up in adversity. This plan might have been a wise choice to slow Vera Brezhneva down but even Denise van Outen wonders whether Valance should be praised so much by her peers? She's always remain the less-talented sister according to Nicola who unusually tries to intimidate her opponent before the fight. The word is that the Lioness bantamweight leader Dorota Rabczewska has ruffled some Girls Aloud feathers in the gym and both Nicola and Kimberley need to step it up this season to continue their presence as genuine BBU gatekeepers.

Olympia Valance wears a black bikini set and red gloves. Long dark brown hair loose & straight. Nicola Roberts wears a white bikini set wit red trim and red gloves. Shoulder lenght red carrot hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Olympia's quick to pounce on the Girls Aloud veteran but she gets blocked off in mid-distance and both women trade meaningless jabs for most of the round - unlikely to break their stride. The Aussie brunette finally kicks into a higher gear late in the going and swings a couple of hooks grazing Nicola's temples and forces the older blonde into a more agile movement. However Roberts fails to prevent a left/right combo bursting into her face and Valance jumps into a quick flurry of jabs straight up the alley to rock the veteran's head back & forth in the dying seconds which meets an angry response from the Lioness coach Brown. Nicola barely lands a clean punch in that exchange and allows the brunette to back her up into the turnbuckle, being lucky enough to see the clock expire moments later.

Round 2:
Nicola's forced into more quick moves on her feet as Olympia gallops into her midsection trying to take full advantage of that sluggish start. She keeps swinging over the top but the redhead's agile enough to escape trouble and mounts a slow response jabbing at the brunette's body. There isn't much breakthrough after a close range tussle where Nicola actually seeks a lenghty clinch to restore her attire and Valance simply allows her to take over the wrestling struggle. Ref separates them several times but the end result is almost exactly the same and has Roberts obscuring action every way possible; the crowd doesn't like that stalemate at all but coach Mel B. looks more relieved during the interval and pads her protegee on the shoulders.

Round 3:
Olympia seeks another blitz and clubs the English redhead between the mitts to rock her on the heels instantly; a flurry of overhand jabs backs Nicola into the ropes before a belter of a hook nails her on the liver area and makes her squeal. A ripping uppercut bursts the guard wide open and allows Valance to slam a one/two hooking combo on the nose... AND ROBERTS GOES DOWN... the older woman simply collapses in the corner after taking a solid Aussie blast there! Olympia bunny hops around the fallen rival and yells: "Who's your other sister now?" but is forced into more action soon as Roberts shakes the knockdown off at seven... this time she attacks her with wide slaps from both sides but struggles to land that big punch and is overwhelmed by a speedy rush from the Aussie brunette... Olympia has much less trouble in landing clean shots and bullies the Girls Aloud veteran into the turnbuckle again where she dumps her into a moaning earmuff defence that makes coach Brown scream all over the rampant Welsh applause... Nicola takes a solid beating in the corner and if only Olympia switched to the gut checking assault quicker, she could have send her down again before the clock expires. Still, it's looking really good for the dark-haired tourist now as Nicola displays a hollow look in her eyes and even coach Mel B. shakes her head in visible frustration. No such worries for Lauren Berlingeri in the opposite corner.

Round 4:
Nicola tries to work from the back foot but gets rocked on her feet by another pacey approach from the brunette who keeps smacking the older woman's cheeks repeatedly in the opening minute and simply drops Roberts' cover in the proccess. She can land unanswered punches to bruise Nicola's face thereafter and reels her onto the ropes where a quick switch on the midriff makes the outclassed redhead wince in pain. Valance whips another riffle set on the face and drops Roberts against the turnbuckle; she adds a double combo on the temples and bends the veteran into a spiralling uppercut on the jaw that bumps a sagging redhead against the ropes AND DOWN ONTO THE CANVAS!!! The furious rally proves simply too much for the embattled Lioness who drops face-down and doesn't make an effort to beat the count anymore. Wicked KO4 Olympia Valance!!!

After:
Olympia's rise to BBU stardom continues with another important victory tonight but even the Girls Friday entourage speaks highly of Nicola's gatekeeping value. While the redhead singer failed to derail the Olympia hype train, she remains in the thick of action and should find easy work against all the highly-touted upstarts. Whether she actually manages to take them down is another story!
