(Thanks to FightFan for this repost)

Before: Gershon looking to grind the division under her iron heel with a win over lightweight strongwoman Cat Bell. Bell looking to get back into power for the first time in ages - losses and layoffs have whittled away at her status to the point where this is a must-win fight of sorts. Interesting tactical match up - both girls very versatile, chameleonlike in the ring, hard to say what we might see outside of what should be a very competitive outing. Gershon in black sports bra, snake-skin bikini bottoms, ponytail, Catherine in electric blue bikini.

During R1: Bell out with dukes high, out front of her face in classic Oscar - Gina with right at her chest, left low, looking to time and counter. Shutout Gina G as she embarasses Cat with silky handspeed, working over and under the Bell jab with right uppercuts or chopping right crosses - Bell stung to the face as Gina hangs back and dabs away from outside.

R2: Cat not discouraged from jabbing - she continues to step in behind it, barking it against Gershon's face with better results this round. Gershon giving Cat that left shoulder to shoot at, countering with slinging left hands wide from her thigh or jetting rights over the jab - it's a deadly chessmatch early. Gershon slips inside in the latter half of the round, going as promised to the Bell midriff. Gina savvy in close - she wraps up Cat's left arm in both hands, then holds and hits off it to dig at the flat waist of her foe. Bell trying to wrench herself free, gives up a lot of leather as Gina nibbles away to take the second.

R3: Gina brazen now - jabbing to set up on Cat's chest, then getting busy as the girls lay in cheek to cheek. Two way punching - Gershon's combinations tearing it up across Cat's tight tummy and mouthwatering melons, occasionally coming off the ribs to snap that short hook against Cat's chin. Bell not taking a single step backwards - answering back with splattering hooks up and down Gina's right side, shouldering and pushing on Gina to make the champ work every second. Down the stretch, Gina gives a little shoulder bump and hooks off it to stun Cat, but Bell answers right back with a slashing Trinidad style hook of her own and GERSHON IS HURT! Gina wobbly butt, immediately reaches in to clinch, smothering the challenger in a groggy waltz to the bell. Cat steals it late as Gina looks a little wide eyed on her stool.

R4: Cat taking over on a slightly shopworn Gina G. Jab now dominating the action as Gershon can't pull the trigger on counters - Cat can steer her foe, push her back with the spear, then step in with the cranking hook. Typical methodical work from Cat - she loves to step in behind the jab and hook to the right side arm and ribs, 3 or 4 strapping blows before Gershon can clinch or run. Bell walking Gina down all over the ring, banging back that head with punishing sticks, welting up the body with hooks, keeping that right hand taped to her cheek against sudden Gershon counters.

R5: Gershon still jabbing to get inside, still getting off to Cat's body, but Bell able to create distance when she wants, bashing jab drawing oohs from the crowd as Bell steps around and bounces it HARD off Gina's skull, gloves and shoulders. By the midway point, Bell's just doing her thing, bathing the champ in hooks against the right side, positioning her with the jab. Gershon lumping up through 5 - a very measured attack from the challenger, no glaring errors or overcommittments for Gina to exploit.

R6: Bell mixes in right hands off the jab, crossing Gina up and catching kisser flush to spank back the champ's head. Gershon in retreat, backs up in disarray, Cat gets her whole body behind a launching left hook that extends perfectly to the tip of Gina's chin and GERSHON IS HURT! Gina sprawling to the ropes nearly goes down, and she is in dire straits as Cat pours on. Vintage Bell beat down, but also some gritty defense from Gina as desperation cat and mouse breaks out along the ropes. Gina rolling with punches, makes her head impossible to find as Cat misses over and over - Gershon making Bell pay with slick counter right hands and right uppercuts off the ropes as Cat fails to capitalize.

R7: Gershon goes to the closed stance, left low, right at her cheek, and puts on a defensive clinic to completely shut Cat down early. Bell coming forward with lefts and rights - Gina stepping back, turning her shoulders, bobbing up and down, slips every single shot, then pivots away to turn Cat at the ropes. Gershon takes over as Cat becomes reluctant to throw - potshotting right hands to the belly, sharp left hooks across the jugs - Gina working in and out while circling, halts Cat's progress this round.

R8: Cat keeps her poise, goes back to basics. She bangs out the jab whether she connects or not, just to get Gina to commit to a defensive move - then she touches Gershon clean or not with the right hand to set up the batting left hook. Gina still cute defensively, but the accuracy and persistence of Cat has her all wrapped up. Gina blunting most of the impact with her shoulder rolls and pivots, but it's Cat coming forward, throwing all the punches this round.

R9: Once again a busy Cat, a slick, but overly patient Gershon. Gina using the entire ring, bending at the waist, stepping away, pointing that left shoulder at Cat and easily slipping most punches, but Bell keeping it on her girl anyway. Gershon escapes damage, but it's a risky strategy - practically leaving things in the judges hands after 9.

R10: Gershon still slidestepping away, still bobbing and rolling in her closed stance as Bell walks her down and CAT GOES DOWN! Slicing right hand phantom punch over the jab clips Cat's cheek and sits her down so fast most in the audience never see it. Bell seated groggy, legs straight out in front of her - she tries to roll onto her hip but looks tragically hurt as the count tolls. Cat beats the count, wavering badly at the bell and Gina comes ON! Gershon jabbing Cat to the ropes, sinks in a vicious right to the stomach, comes back with that biting left hook on the eye - Bell with feet wide apart, gloves drooping like wilting lillies in front of her face as Gina hammers her way around the guard, crowd on it's feet as Gershon presses for the KO! Cat beaten ragged, slides awkwardly into a corner, just staring at her tormentress, lolling drunkenly with her shoulder against the ropes and taking awful punishment to the bell. Gina running out of steam in the last moments, just pushing leather into her foe, bodying up in between punches, mouth wide open - it goes to the cards. Comes back UD10 for the winner and NEW lightweight champion Catherine "Cat" Bell!

After: Gershon stunned by the decision - dreams of empire in tatters - she stares at the semiconscious Bell who is just barely able to stand under her own power - where did it all go wrong? Too many cute rounds for Gina, Cat able to squirrel away points and land the majority of power shots until the big 10th round for Gina. A groggy Cat Bell coy in the ring afterwards, "I don't know what's next right away - I just want a good long soak and enjoy being the champion again." When asked about a Gershon rematch, "She got a little old tonight, I don't know how much she has left really, but I guess my manager will determine that." When asked about a Theron challenge, "Again, my manager will probably address that, but I think she needs to prove herself against class fighters. Whalloping a tramp doesn't impress me much."
