Intro:
The opening bout of tonight's Fight Night Live card sees Lucy Liu and Reese Witherspoon in a rematch, they step into the legendary Tokyo Dome.

Lucy is 50 years old; she stands 5'3, holding a record of 82 wins, 55 coming by way of knockout, with 39 defeats, she is a former seven time FCBA flyweight champion and a former two bantamweight champion, also a Tractorpull Hall of Fame member.

Reese is 43 years old; she stands 5'1 ½, her record stands at 13 wins, 7 coming by way of knockout, with 29 defeats.

These two fought all the way back in 2007, Lucy would go on to win a unanimous decision, that was a fight afterwards Lucy admitted with puffy eyes on show was a real test for her.

While they are not in their peaks anymore, there is a large buzz around seeing these two stunners in the cougar division do battle, posing for photos together in the build up for cameras.

Before the fight as they entered the arena, the FCBA network's interviewer catching the fighters with their entourage on the way to their locker rooms.

First in is Lucy with her coach behind her, she smiles as she stops a moment wearing a white blouse with a black skirt and black heels, shaking hands with someone who has become a colleague now.

When asked about the fight, Lucy says "I know Reese has been annoyed she hasn't been able to fight me till now, normally we would joke at shows about the fight, I am feeling generous to give her another ass kicking"

Tapping the interviewer on the shoulder, she continues "I might be talking to you more if I win tonight, I have a few years left on my tank" heading off as Reese follows not long after wearing a red dress and matching heels.

The interviewer looking a little awkward as Reese smiles and shakes her head, before saying "I see who you are rooting for" laughing as she lightens the mood.

Reese then changes the subject by saying "Lucy underestimated me over a decade ago, so much so that when I had her hurt, she wouldn't come near me again with the gloves on, I even joked we could spar and saw fear in her eyes"

As she turns to go, Reese finishes with "Lucy might need you to help her out the ring when I am done with her" winking as she heads off to her locker room.

Fighting time; Lucy is out first with her coach beside her, she waves to the crowd as they are standing cheering her, the legend getting a lot of love as she can't help smile on her way down the aisle.

She is wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with white stripes down the sides, red shoes, white gloves, while her brunette hair is tied into a braid.

Stepping through the ropes, Lucy bows to each side of the ring, she smiles as she heads to her corner, once there though she turns serious as she goes through her warm up routine.

Now out comes Reese with her coach behind her, the bubbly blonde bouncing on her toes as she heads down to the ring, getting a loud cheer from her supporters.

She is wearing a yellow sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, while her hair is tied back into a fighting ponytail.

Climbing into the ring; Reese points over at Lucy, then yells "I've been waiting a decade for you b*tch!" They both nod over at each other, a confident look on their faces as they warm up in their corners.

Waved to the center of the ring, the fighters square up to each other, touching foreheads as the referee goes through the instructions.

They bump gloves together while giving each other a nod, once they are ready in their corners, the referee signals for the bell to begin 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
The fighters step out their corners thudding their gloves together, starting out trading probing punches as they look for angles to strike from.

Bouncing on their toes more as they feel more confident, having more success now as they land more punches on the inside.

It's Lucy who lands the first meaningful punch, ducking under a jab to hammer in two hooks to the body of Reese, she steps back smiling as the blonde misses with a left cross.

The skills of Lucy start to come through as she starts to catch Reese to her face, stinging her cheeks with straight shots.

But as the round enters its final minute, Reese slips a straight to come over the top with an overhand left across the face of the legend to knock her back a step.

Reese enjoying that as she starts opening up on her opponent in the final moments of the round, Lucy covering up as she is herded towards the ropes.

At the bell they smirk at each other before heading to their corners, Lucy's corner looking the happier of the two, telling her to keep showing Reese why she isn't in her class.

Round 2:
The veterans look warmed up now, drilling stiff jabs into their rivals face, Lucy's reach allowing her to keep Reese on the outside right now.

Coming in with a feint with her left, Reese throws a right across the eye of Lucy, trying to use her tactics from the first fight it seems again, maybe hoping shutting the eyes of Lucy will bring success.

It is allowing her to knock back Liu around the outside of the ring, Reese keeps throwing in volume, wanting to outwork her older opponent it seems as she switches to the body when the guard goes up.

That makes Lucy fire out of her guard, with a right hook to the side of Reese's head, a left smacks the smaller woman on her mouth as she backs off.

Reese's coach doesn't look happy about that, giving Lucy the freedom to work again, punches getting rifled into the top of Witherspoon's head to keep her back as the final thirty seconds tick away.

When the round comes to an end, Lucy tells Reese "good work babe, too bad I am still gonna pound you" winking at her frenemy, who just smirks and shakes her head as they return to their corners.

Round 3
Lucy looks to be out to prove the last round was just a fluke, she is doubling up her jab more to keep Reese back, moving side to side with a big grin on her face.

Ducking down to try to get inside, Reese is feeling the unnerving accuracy of the legend Lucy, her blonde hair getting knocked around as her head is spiked back.

The Liu fans are in full voice behind their girl, she takes a few strikes through to her mouth, but is stopping Reese to the outside with her reach and movement giving her rival trouble.

But maybe showing her age; Lucy gets lax with a jab, earning a right across her face to turn her head, Reese getting in close to force a fiery exchange.

The crowd roaring them on as we get a classic flyweight firefight, sweat flies off both fighters as they let their hands go, heads nearly clashing when they move in tight till the bell rings to end the round.

Lucy doesn't look bothered by Reese coming back at her to finish the round, her coach though warns her to keep her focus on Reese or expect punishment.

Across the ring Reese is getting her cheeks worked on, a little puffiness around them as her coach tells her to be patient.

Round 4:
Stepping out their corners; Lucy simply sticks to the game plan, bashing Reese back with that pinpoint jab, sending sweat off the head of the younger fighter to keep her back.

Moving side to side near the ropes, Lucy catches Reese coming at her with a left hook, a confident look on the face of the former multiple time champ as she is just outboxing her opponent.

Reese has to work her way in close, deflecting a left cross away to counter with a straight into the eye of Lucy, she steps inside to land a follow up left hook as she sees her chance to open up on Liu.

They settle in tight trading hard body shots, both barking out as they are looking to make their rival retreat back, instead it is Lucy nudging back Reese to open up a gap to land a right across the top of the blonde's head.

The final thirty seconds of the round sees Lucy try to back up Witherspoon to the ropes, but the smaller fighter dips down before coming up with an uppercut, THE FOLLOW UP RIGHT HOOK TO THE TEMPLE OF LIU SENDS HER TO HER SIDE!

A shocking turn of events, Reese screaming "come on!" As she heads to the neutral corner, 1...2...3... Lucy shakes her head as she pulls herself to the ropes, 4....5....6.. Using the ropes to get to her knee, 7...8.. Beating the count with a slight wobble.

The referee let's Lucy continue, the two fighters trade single punches as Reese looks for a way to land a power hook, the bell saving Lucy from more punishment.

Lucy's corner team almost look like they are biting back telling her "we told you so!" Instead they are trying to get Lucy sorted out for the next round as she still looks a little buzzed.

Round 5:
It's clear Lucy is still having problems, Reese dodges a left cross to come over the top with an overhand right to the chin of the Asian fighter.

An uppercut pierces through the gloves of Lucy to her chin, sending her onto the ropes, REESE LANDS A LEFT HOOK THAT SENDS LUCY DOWN TO HER SIDE!

A fist pump by Reese shows you how confident she has the win, 1...2...3....4.. Lucy shows off her toughness as she turns to the ropes, resting on the middle rope, 5....6...7.. Dragging herself up, 8...9.. When she wobbles onto the ropes, LUCY'S CORNER THROWS THE TOWEL IN TO STOP THE FIGHT!

Winner Reese Witherspoon TKO (corner stoppage) Round 5

After:
Showing her compassion, Reese goes straight over to Lucy to check on her, Lucy stubbornly at first by nudging back Reese, till she apologizes and they embrace.

The crowd applauding both women, Lucy needing to be helped back to her corner, her head goes down as she isn't going to argue with her coach about stopping the fight, knowing she was badly hurt.

Across the ring Reese high fives her coaching team, happy she took this fight and showed Lucy that she can be dangerous in the ring.

When both are ready they come to the center of the ring, Lucy going over to Reese and putting an arm around her shoulder as the final result is announced, Reese's right hand is raised into the air.

Lucy bows to the crowd before she leaves, looking teary eyed as maybe she realises that the she isn't going to go into the ring and simply do what she used to, maybe she is wondering how worth it is fighting now?

Reese meanwhile blows kisses to the crowd as she heads around the outside of the ring, showing love for the fans as they cheer her back.

Heading up the ramp, while Reese won't be challenging for gold anytime soon, this might get her in for more big money fights before she officially hangs up the gloves.
