CHERYL COLE VS LUCY HALE
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Cheryl: 34 YO, 5’3 (1.60 m), (FCBA: 21-5-0 since 2015), Lioness Club
Lucy: 28 YO, 5’2 (1.57 m) (26-22-0, 25 KO since 2010), Pretty Little Punchers

Before: “I have to say I just love fighting FCBA girls. I am 21-18 back home in the BBU, but here I am 21-5 in this fed. I took out Hale’s Puncher pal Ashley Benson last year. Now I get to wipe the floor with the Puncher flyweight who somehow or other held the FCBA title. I think they should give me a Flyweight Title shot since I already hold the BBU Fly title.”

Cheryl’s cheerful monologue goes on like this for some time as Lucy Hale shows increasing signs of displeasure. Cheryl takes note.

“Oh, my, Lucy’s looking positively murderous,” Cheryl says, “I suppose I have blathered on a bit too long. I will take a seat and let Lucy have a go at impressing you press people. Lots of luck on that Lucy.”

Lucy jumps up and glares at Cheryl who takes a seat and pours herself a glass of water.

“Well, after all that,” Lucy says with a snide look at Ms. Cole, “I am sure you would prefer someone who can be short and to the point.”

Suddenly there is a spray of water from Cheryl Cole and she coughs loudly: “Sorry, Luce, when you said ‘short and to the point’ all I could think of was ‘she is sure is short’, all right.”

Snickers go through the crowd as Lucy’s cheeks burn red. She has to take a moment to compose herself.

“Oh, don’t get all choked up, Luce. You just look shorter than me because—well—you are. I just LOVE being the ‘Big Girl’ in our fight!”Cheryl calls out.

“SHUT UP!” Lucy snarls at Cheryl. “STOP INTERUPTING ME!”

“Temper, temper! Remember I am the Visitor from Abroad and you need to be polite to me for the sake of International Relations or some such thing!” Cheryl chatters.

“You have worn out your welcome!” Lucy snaps. “I am SO going to kick your limey ass back across the Atlantic!”

“Oh dear, ethnic slurs,” chided Cheryl,, “you are so going to hear it on social media.”

PLP spokesperson Autumn Reeser trots out onto the stage: “Now, of course, you didn’t really mean that remark, did you Lucy.”

“I was provoked!” Lucy complains. “You know I like British boxers—most of them anyway.”

“Oh, I understand. I saw that tour you did in the UK back in 2011, my sister Brits beat you 3 of 5 times. I’ll bet that’s why you still have a grudge against us!” Cheryl declared.

“I was just starting out then! I don’t hold a grudge. I’m just mad at YOU!” Lucy cries.

“So you say, but I think I am the mere personification of your boxing frustration with British boxers. Well, my dear, I assure you, you will be even more frustrated after I whip you in front your home crowd,: Cheryl said with triumphant smirk.

Lucy let out an incoherent cry and tried to charge Cheryl. Cheryl grabbed the pitcher of water in front of her and flung it into Lucy’s face. Lucy came to shocked, spluttering halt. Autumn Reeser came up quickly behind Lucy and got a grip on Lucy who looked like a petite volcano about to erupt.

“I suggest you get out of here, Ms. Cole or I just might Lucy have at you.” Autumn warned.

Cheryl seemed to sense she might have gone too far: “I do having a pressing engagement-0-someewhere or other—see you at the fight, Luce. Oh, and that ‘wet look’ does suit you. Good bye!”

With that Lucy again lunged at Cheryl and it was all Autumn Reeser could do to hold back.

“Stop letting her get to you, Lucy!” Autumn hissed. “She’s just playing with your mind to distract you.”

“Well, it’s working!” Lucy cried, but Autumn held on until Chryl was out of sight. Then Lucy snapped:

“She is SO going to pay for this!”

“Yes, she will, if you keep your head,” Autumn told her and guides the fuming flyweight off the stage.

The episode rapidly spread on social media and so by the night of the fight interest in this particular bout was running very high. Lucy came to the ring in black bra and briefs with lightning bolts across the seat between the word HALESTORM in golden threat. There were an LH monogram on each bra cup and the hips of the briefs. Cheryl was in her trademark black & white vertically striped bikini set. Black gloves for both fighters. Ponytail for Cheryl. Lucy’s bobbed hair loose. Cheryl smirking as the glowering Lucy faces her. No nonsense referee in charge and gets them through the ring instructions with only a growl or two from Lucy (which amuses Cheryl). “Tap” of the gloves is a loud SMACK. Cheryl continues that smirky smile and Lucy smolders, but they do depart for their corners without further ago (some in crowd heard to groan in disappointment). The bell rings.

R1: Lucy shoots out of her corner and zooms straight at Cheryl. Lucy lets fly with a wild right that Cheryl coolly ducks and then hammers back with a right uppercut to the chin. Lucy goes stumbling back and Cheryl briskly follows with a very thorough pounding of Lucy’s body. Lucy finds herself being driven back into her own corner, digs in and tries to drive Cheryl back. Cheryl willing to force her way through Lucy’s jab so she can get her punches into Lucy’s jaw. Lucy’s head swiveled left and right, but then she manages to fire a straight right into Cheryl’s undefended nose. Cheryl comes to an abrupt halt as blood trickles from a nostril, Lucy takes advantage to move passed the stunned Brit and get out to mid-ring. Cheryl shakes off the blow and looks irked that her quarry has escaped. She pursues, but Lucy is fighting a much cooler-headed defense and holds Cheryl off with jabbing to the face and then to the ribcage. Cheryl tries circling and looking for openings, but can’t really find much. Lucy survives, but Cheryl wins the round by a comfortable margin.

R2: PLP trainer Nia Peeples seen waving her finger in a chastened Lucy’s bruised face during the break. Not hard to guess she’s telling Lucy to stop fighting angry. Lucy does come out in a more controlled and alert manner as the new round begins. Cheryl ready to come in and see if she can rattle the smaller Lucy again. Not working this time and that jab as well as some nice footwork is making Lucy tougher target now. Cheryl circles and seems to be trying to compose a new attack plan. However Lucy suddenly sees an opening a cracks a hard right to the side of Cheryl’s head. Cheryl staggered and Lucy goes to the ol’ one-two to the chin to put the wobble in Cheryl’s legs. Cheryl backing up, gloves raised to face, as Lucy charges up with middle with a pounding attack to the belly. She adds some straight shots to the breasts and then its back to more belly banging. Cheryl hunching up with hurt, tries to jab, but now has the side sof her head under attack. Lucy swinging away to the bell. Lucy wins the round wide and establishes she’s in this fight, too.

R3: Cheryl not looking happy during break. She comes out slamming her gloves together and looking to show Lucy Hale that last round was a fluke. Lucy seems to be out to prove it was NOT a fluke. With that sort of determination it is no surprise that the round turns into an furious explosion of punching. Cheryl striking at Lucy’s body with power. Lucy shuddering under the impacts, but grits her mouthpiece and gives it right back to Cheryl’s body. Lucy’s looking angry, but now it is fueling her punching. However, it is also distracting her from seeing what Cheryl is up to, Cheryl steps to one side with a suddenness that has the narrow-focused Lucy hitting empty air. Before Lucy can locate her quarry, she gets popped into the side of the head and sent spinning away. Lucy quickly recovers, but Cheryl on her hard and Lucy finds herself struggling to avoid being overwhelmed by Cheryl’s punches aimed now at her head. Lucy has to scramble clear and reset herself to block Cheryl with the jab. Cheryl struck hard to the face, though not the nose, and it does slow her up as time runs out. Hard fought round goes to Cheryl Cole by a close margin.

R4: Cheryl seems determined to crush the resistance she is getting from Lucy and storms Fort Hale just after the bell, Cheryl aiming first for the head, but when she’s drawn Lucy’s guard upwards she makes vicious right to left and left to right swipes across Lucy’s abs. Then she puts hooks into the battered belly, but Lucy fights back with fierce rights and lefts to the jaw. Cheryl frozen and Lucy goes for the chin. Cheryl stumbles back, but then recovers and goes right back at Lucy. Really tense action from the two small flyweights as their elbows churn as they deliver rapid-fire body punching. Lucy slowly pushed back allowing Cheryl to win another round close as the bell sounds.

R5: Puncher corner crew working on Lucy as Nia gives the aching fighter some new ideas. Lucy comes out a more mobile fighter. She quickly has Cheryl chasing her around the ring as they exchange quick flurries hit-and-run punches. Cheryl looking frustrated at her elusive quarry, but suddenly Lucy stops running and stuns Cheryl with a right to the jaw. Cheryl caught flush, goes spinning to one side, as Lucy scrambles to get back in front. Cheryl barely able to get her gloves up around her face before Lucy strikes again. Lucy can’t get through Cheryl’s high guard so she goes after Cheryl’s breasts with a nasty series of hooks combined with straight rights and lefts to crush Cheryl’s boobies in their bikini top cups. Cheryl trying hard to get Lucy back with the jab, but she isn’t able to do this until late in the round. Lucy has some cuts and bruises about the face from the jabbing, but it is more than compensated when she is awarded the round by a wide margin on the judges; cards.

R6: Lucy building on the previous round. She dips and feints as she works her in towards Cheryl and then blasts Cheryl with an unexpected left to the jaw and right to the chin. Cheryl goes rubber legged, but someone stays on her feet. Lucy bores in with an attack to the body that has Cheryl all hunched up and being driven into the ropes. Cheryl find herself taking a seat and let Lucy bang away at her body as she goes face-in-gloves. Lucy gets really intense as she punches away, letting her anger re-emerge, but Cheryl is still standing at the bell. Lucy breathing hard, sweat dripping off her body. Cheryl gives Lucy a defiant grin. Lucy ready to take another swing at Cheryl, but referee jumps in. Cheryl walks to her corner, smiling as she can hear referee lecturing a sullen Lucy. However, Lucy has won another round wide, and the tonguelashing doesn’t change that.

R7: Lucy looking a bit winded during the break and she is a tad slow coming off her stool, Chery off her stool briskly. Once Lucy catches sight of Cheryl, she comes alive and goes at her with a fresh body attack. Cheryl working well defensively, uses repeated jabs to the forehead and eyebrows to knock Lucy’s head back. Lucy keeps trying to come forward, but her punches are not growing sluggish. Then Cheryl sets Lucy up with strong, quick hooks to the belly to draw down her guard and then she with overhand right to the jaw, Lucy staggers away, blinking in shock, but Cheryl staying with her finding Lucy’s chin with a booming right uppercut. Lucy thrown backwards hits the ropes and topples over onto her side. Cheryl prancing to neutral corner in triumph, but, no, Lucy Hale crawls to her knees and then grasping the ropes pulls herself erect in time to break the count. Referee looks doubtful, but Lucy fiercely insists she can go on. She even waves Cheryl in before the referee actually allows fight to continue. Sadly, the bravado cannot save Lucy Hale this fight, Cheryl goes right for the head and easily bursts through Lucy’s guard. Lucy sliding along the ropes getting her head knocked from side to side. Ringsiders are screaming for the referee to act! AND THE REF STEPS IN! Official cradles Lucy in his arms, she hangs there as her mouthpiece dribbles out and she moans: “No! No! Don’t stop it!” But it is clear the right decision was made as Lucy sinks to her knees.

THE WINNER: CHERYL COLE DEFEATS LUCY HALE TKO7!

After: Gleeful Cheryl Cole can’t wait to get her hands on Lucy Hale once she’s brought back to consciousness (more or less). PLPers Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, and Troian Bellisario all glaring at Cheryl, who ignores them as she hauls Lucy to her feet.

“You awake in there, Hale? I want you to know what’s going on,” Cheryl says and reaches back to bunch up Lucy’s briefs and yank them upwards. The wedgie brings a squeal of outrage from Lucy.

“Now you really have something to hate about me,” Cheryl taunts.

“Just get it over with,” Lucy growls.

“By all means, right this way—loser,” Cheryl says, pinning Lucy’s left arm behind her back and then guiding her around the ring. Puncher fans not liking this and express their displeasure, but Cheryl has plenty of fan support to cheer her on. Cheryl adds a few more wedgies before the circuit is completed. Cheryl then whispers something into Lucy’s ear. Lucy’s widen. Then she gives a sigh.

“Anything else you’ll be wanting sent over?” She is heard ask with resignation.

“Oh, that will do it, but I insist they be freshly laundered.” Cheryl said.

“Of course, did you think I wouldn’t?” Lucy asked sharply.

“Just checking,” Cheryl said with a sly smile. “ and besides I just love pulling your chain.”

Cheryl then handed Lucy over to her scowling stablemates.

“See you around ladies—and you, too Lucy. Thank you for a most delightful time. I am loving the FCBA more than ever!” She cheerfully and strolls away.

“What is it you’re supposed to launder first?” Ashley whispers.

Lucy let out a sigh of exasperation: “That’s what I get for wearing those ‘Halestorm’ panties. They just look too good on a trophy wall….”

Quite a battle. It looked like Lucy let her emotions get her into serious trouble in the early action, but then she seemed to settle down and had taken control of the fight. However Cheryl Cole was ready to strike back and did with devastating results. Big win for the Lioness Club fighter who seems to be carving out a solid niche for herself on this side of the Atlantic. In addition to her fighting skills, Cheryl showed a shrewd use of pre-fight mind games to help distract her opponent before a single punch was thrown. Painful setback for Lucy Hale, but defeat is no stranger to Lucy Hale and she has learned the hard way how to come back from a loss. (One lesson she might have learned is not to let herself be provoked by a trash talking opponent in the pre-fight). We expect she will do that again soon. Exciting bout for flyweight fans especially for supporters of the LC as their fighter gets a major victory over a proven veteran.
