Olivia Munn versus Claire Holt

Before: A couple years ago, this would have been a Number 1 contenders bout. Now it’s almost a rehab bout after both fighters dropped three in a row. Is Olivia feeling the clock ticking more? “If she thinks this is going to be the fight that gets her back in a winning way, she may need to think about retiring, because she’s taken way too many hits! I hope she remembers who ended her first run, the one she’s been coasting off ever since? Because now I’m going to remind her!”

Claire philosophical, “It’s been a rough few years. They happen at this level. We’ll see if I can still hang, but I have a good feeling about this.”

Claire in sturdy white halter with showy scoop front; navy bikini bottoms with bold white floral print; white gloves; blonde hair in tight pony. Red one-piece for Olivia, plunging in front, high in the back, red gloves, hair straight and loose.

R1: Strong stances both girls leading with short rights, back with clanging hooks and CLAIRE GETS ROCKED! Olivia bangs her ropeside with a fusillade of lefts and rights. Holt shaking off the cobwebs, starts pitching from the hips--it’s two-way, face-first, free-for-all at the ropes. Vicious action, girls punching-with, sometimes Claire catching ‘Liv, sometimes the other way around. Bell sounds--neither girl lets up--ref gets involved.

R2: Claire gets after Olivia with diligence, persistence, and thumping power. Holt chipping the jab, edging her way in close, then digging the left hook to midsection, weight on lead foot, hips popping to the right. Munn grunting on receipt, unable to punch back; Claire showing authority, digging respect out of brunette's chassis. Short, muscular right hands up top skid off Olivia's brows and chin: Holt using the right hand to keep Munn defensive, and to set up that withering left hook amidships. Blonde steering brunette all around the ring - good, methodical pressure applied as Claire thumps it up bell to bell, getting consistent work done tummy and tits.

R3: BRUISING shoulder to shoulder as Olivia rallies, engages Claire midring. OH the digging - the bumping inside - both girls rough with their foreheads, shoulders, and elbows, trying to muscle the other for punching room. Both girls nice and compact - tucking right hands into squirming tummies, clipping left hooks and uppercuts. Both busy about the other's proud chest, seeking to humble jug and gain the psychological advantage. Both women strong at this distance, but Munn's out-punching her down the stretch, bumping the blonde back one step at a time and walking her down in non-stop toe-to-toe action.

R4: Claire back to chipping her way in with pokey left jabs, then digging hooks - taking Olivia chest and tummy. Munn bumped off, takes it well: she backs up, swinging wide at Holt's head and shoulders. Olivia tightens up stroke as round progresses - becoming more effective. Down the stretch, she's shoulder to shoulder with Holt, bumping-and-slugging back-and-forth with her as girls stay busy, stay close. Munn smiling at the bell, lifting her right hand: obviously feels she came on to take the round.

R5: Sneaky, short right cross stuns Olivia early: she's on her heels, backing up as Claire crowds close. Holt just a-DIGGING that hook in close - getting in snug and jamming it home, really pumping Munn's gut. Clean up hooks claw across Olivia's breasts as she's backing up - and Claire's maintaining contact with that crisp, accurate right hand up top. Good slugging pursuit from Holt: Munn gunshy, covered up and retreating - she's hurt to the body, unable to punch back this round.

R6: Olivia a bit wild, missing over the top as Claire dips low, then answers jagged up into ribcage: brunette sobbing out, body-punched back into ropes. Holt crowding, fighting off the chest, writhing to get her hands inside Munn's shoulders and wriggle her guard apart. Olivia whining with effort of pushing on Claire, trying to get room: blonde tucking in body shots/forearms to jug/swiping head shots at tummy-on-tummy range. Munn ragged, form degrading: Holt able to shove her into ropes and hit with leverage - really hooking brunette to body with effect. Uppercuts brushing Olivia upright, eyelashes batting: she's swooning, trusting curvy legs to get her through. Claire dips left, lashing that right hand upside Munn's head, drapes her against ropes, eyes rolling back up/closing as hands drop. Holt reloads, STEPS into the right hand, bending into the wallop to kiss Olivia goodnight. She’s tilting to her right, already out when she hits the canvas/rolls to her back parallel to ropes. Brutal KO6 as Claire Holt gets back in a winning way!

After: Claire all "told you so" in the aftermath. "I'm not some girl who got lucky one night and won the bantamweight titles. I’m the toughest out in the FCBA, and I’m not going to stop reminding anyone of that!”
