TROIAN BELLISARIO VS MARGOT ROBBIE
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Troian: 32 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 25-17-0, 23 KO since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers
Margot: 27 YO, 5’6 (1.68 m), 18-10-0, 14 KO since 2011, Chimera

Before: “It really surprises me,” Troian Bellisario says at the pre-fight press conference, “that we both entered the FCBA in 2011 and risen to come highly ranked contenders. Yet we have never faced each other in the ring. So I am very excited about this match. I always looking for my next Bantam Title shot and you remain a likely candidate by beating those around you in the rankings. A successful fight with Margot would certain make me a likely candidate now that Emily VanCamp has finally gotten the title belts away from Chloe Bennet and assuming she wins her title defense at the PPV. (Sorry, Chloe, it’s not me being bitter because you floored me in our title fight, it is just a Fact of FCBA Life that you can’t hold a title forever. Congrats Ems, glad to see those belts are your waist—at least until I can get them back around mine!) I can’t be sure EVC will give me a title shot, but I want to be in the perfect position to make sure she can’t ignore me. That means beating Margot.”

“Troian,” Margot says when she gets to the podium, “I have to say your strategic thinking on how to get another title shot is most impressive. I’ve always heard you were the ‘Big Brain’ at the PLP, it sounds like you certainly think so. I am a simpler sort of girl—I just like beating up other girls and if a title belt comes with it—so much the better. I had my chance with Chloe and she got the better of me. I will wait and see if and when I get another chance against Emily VanCamp. In the meantime, I have my new management to impress after that—ah—setback—against former Champ Chloe. I would think putting your conceited bum on the canvas would do quite nicely.”

Troian just smiles wickedly: “My bum is not at all conceited, but yours will look quite nice bouncing off the canvas when I part you from your senses.”

“It would, of course,” Margot acknowledges with a wicked smile of her own, “but you will be parted from your senses before that ever happens. Count on it.”

Tone of polite nastiness hanging over the bout remains as the pair enters the ring. Troian in a gold with black trim one piece, Black boots and gloves with gold laces. Hair in double pigtails. Margot in a white one piece with green boots and gloves (gold laces). Hair in a simple ponytail. Both fighters looking a bit impatient during ring instructions, but otherwise things go smoothly and fighters are soon back in their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Troian and Margot out of their corners with speed and they waste little more time in starting to probe each other with steady punching. They circle around each other, sometimes backtracking to throw the other off as punches range from head to body and back again. Troian then starts pushing in with her shots striking at Margot’s ribs and stomach. She’s landing these with power and accuracy. Margot looking uncomfortable and her counters are not driving Troian back, Instead, it is Margot slowly giving ground and Troian adds to the pressure with quick flicks up to score against Margot’s juggs. Troian keeping the pressure on to the bell. Margot frowning as they break, clearly not pleased with the opening stanza. Troian with a hint of satisfaction as she knows she’s got the attention of her newest opponent.

R2: Margot showing more aggressiveness this round as she greets Troian with sharp right/left smacks to the cheekbones and a straight right to the mouth. Troian trying to protect her mouth now comes under fire as Margot sends hungry hooks scouring her ribcage and stomach. Troian trying to make herself less of a target with more movement, but Margot keeping up with her. Margot still working the midsection until Troian tries to drive her back with a flurry of jabs aimed at the head, Margot sidestepping these and strikes with a fast right over Troian’s gloves and into her jaw. CRACK! Troian spins around from the force of the blow AND DOWN GOES TROIAN. Troian’s legs seem to become entangled and sending her spilling to the canvas. Big smile on Margot’s face as she goes trotting to neutral corner. Troian on her hands and knees with a stunned look on her face. Referee is counting. Troian manages to time it well and rises at “EIGHT!” Action resumes, but Troian strictly defensive with her gloves up around her head and only occasionally jabbing. Margot works the Bellisario midsection again. Bell rings and Margot shows that big smile as she wins the round wide with a knockdown to her credit. Troian looking more than a little shocked as she makes her way back to her stool.

R3: Action starts quickly this round as Margot seeks to continue to dominate, while Troian is fighting to restore her own earlier domination. Battle rages back and forth as Margot first drives Troian back with a spirited series of shots to the head and chest, but then Troian rallies with a stunning left that catches Margot right between the eyes. Margot looks stunned by the blow and Troian quick to follow up with a right to the jaw. Margot’s gloves go up and Troian then digs hooks into Aussie abs. Margot giving ground, but then she clips Troian with a jab to the chin and suddenly it is Troian in retreat as Margot works the body. Troian then sideslips and clouts Margot on the side of the head with an overhand right. Margot’s knees tremble and Troian drives the shaky-legged Australian back. Margot finally able to stall the attack with the jab as time runs out. Judges give it to Troian by a narrow margin.

R4: They go right back at it as Troian makes the first offensive effort trying to make Margot duck with head shots, but then coming in hard to the body. Margot pulls back briefly, but then bangs Troian to the jaw with an unexpected right counter. Now it is Troian falling back and Margot pressing her hard to the body. Troian trying to make a stand with her jab and there is hard-hearted battle that roasts breasts, ribs and belly as she and Margot fight it out. Margot showing punching power to the body as she forces Troian back through sheer belly busting action. Troian showing plenty of resistance, but Margot keeps on top to win the round by a close margin after the bell.

R5: More Margot and more leather lashing into Troian’s ravaged midsection as the new round gets going. Margot trying to maintain constant pressure and give Troian no rest unless she retreats. Troian finally forced to backpedal and it does gain her some breathing space. However Margot is quickly back in toe to toe range and firing away. Troian trying to jab, but she Margot’s pressure seems to be disrupting these efforts. Margot shifts to attack Troian’s head late, but can’t penetrate Troian defenses before the bell sounds. Round goes to Margot Robbie wide.

R6: Troian hearing it from trainer Nia Peeples during the break: “Where’s your jab, Troi? She’s in your trunks—get her out of there with the jab!” Troian nodding along, but can she do it? Margot comes right back for more, but Troian has that jab fully deployed now and slicing into Margot’s face as she tries to force her way in. Margot proves stubborn and keeps on coming, though she does try to circle a bit and find a new angle. However Troian is shifting her feet, too, and suddenly she goes on the attack with a nicely delivered shot to Margot’s solar plexus. Margot momentarily frozen as pain from the impact overloads her sensory system and in that moment Troian brings a hammer-blow right hand crashing into the side of Margot’s head. Margot takes a step forward and then CRASHES ON HER FACE! Troian now shows her big smile as she scampers off to the neutral corner. Margot has pushed herself up into a kneeling position and looks around in bewilderment. Then she notices the referee standing over her and he is counting! Margot’s eyes open wide with shock as she realizes she’s in big trouble. Margot makes a great effort and staggers erect at “NINE!” Fight resumes, but ashen-faced Margot just covers up and plays for time. Troian unable to accomplish more by the time the bell rings, but she wins the round wide and now has a knockdown on her side of the judges’ cards as well. Margot not looking good as she trudges back to her corner and sags onto her stool. Troian seemingly ignores her opponent and walks briskly to her own corner.

R7: Chimera corner staff does their best, but Margot moving sluggishly as the new round begins. Troian approaching with caution, but she soon concludes that Margot isn’t putting on a show. That being the case, Troian goes on the attack and brings it in close to the clearly woozy Margot. Troian doing her best through feints to keep Margot confused and off balance while smacking her to the head as often as she can get in a good punch. Margot soon is focused on protecting her head which allows Troian to pound her belly, ribs and breasts in wave after wave of leather. Margot finally jabbing back, but Troian is only slowed in her pressure attack. Bell finally ends a long round for Margot Robbie, but she shows she has her pride by squaring her shoulders and trying to march back to her corner. (Her rubbery legs threaten to betray this brave gesture, but Margot manages to stay up all the way back to her stool). Troian again seems to ignore Margot’s signs of faltering and goes right back to her own corner without delay.

R8: Margot somehow able to come off her stool this round and counterattack. Troian seems surprised as Margot comes charging in, gloves flying and trying to drive her back to the ropes. Troian takes a good left/right combo to the head as they slide along the strands, but she strikes back with hard jabs that strike at Margot’s eyebrow line. Nasty cut opens over Margot’s right eye, but she fights on, trying to get her gloves into Troian’s desperately dodging face. Then Troian goes to the belly with a muscular hook that drives Margot up onto her toes, Troian then steps to the side and drives Margot back into the ropes with non-stop belly punching. Margot’s legs suddenly give way and Troian stands back. Margot slides down the ropes to end up in a seated position with a vacant look in her eyes. Troian goes to neutral corner. Margot sees referee coming in and starting to count. She reaches back and starts using the ropes to pull herself up. It is an agonizingly slow process but she manages to beat the count at “NINE!” Referee looks concerned about letting this go on, but Margot glares and insists the fight continue. Referee nods and waves Troian back in. Margot trying to move away from the ropes, but Troian going all-out and drives her back. Margot slides along the ropes trying to find a way out, but Troian’s sweeping Margot’s gloves aside to smash her head from side to side in a manner than brings screams from ringsiders to stop the carnage! THE REFEREE JUMPS BETWEEN THEM! Official cradles a limp Margot Robbie in his arms as he declares this fight is OVER! Troian walks to center ring and raises both arms in triumph as the crowd roars.

THE WINNER: TROIAN BELLISARIO DEFEATS MARGIT ROBBIE TKO8!

After: “This was a critical win for me,” Troian wearily explains to press as her teammates Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell all crowd around her. “I don’t expect another fight with Chloe Bennet, but I am in the perfect position for whoever succeeds her. That was how we planned it and I was able pull it off. Plus it is personally very satisfying to me to defeat someone of Margot Robbie’s quality. She never gave up even at the end when, frankly, she should have. I hope she’s all right.”

Chimera spokespersons assure fans: “Margot was checked out by our medical staff and they have assured us she will soon recover from this fight. Naturally she is very disappointed at the loss, but she is hoping for a future rematch, she thinks she and Troian are well-matched, but that she has learned enough from this fight to beat her the next time. Margot Robbie will be back, let no one doubt that!”

Excellent bantamweight contenders brawl and fans are already hoping they have seen the start of a new rivalry. Troian Bellisario and Margot Robbie do appear to be well-matched and though Margot got beat down in this one, we think it could easily have gone the other way. Troian’s title shot strategy looks to be working, but a lot of depends on Emily VanCamp and the outcome of her first title defense in March. She and Troian do have a history, but that doesn’t automatically put her in line for another title shot. Margot will undoubtedly want to get a comeback win to ensure her own eligibility. It should be interesting times in this division in the months ahead.
