BEFORE:

"You know," says Deborah with a smile, "I guess I was being pretty silly after the fight against McKinney. I mean, I figured if I gave a girl like that the kind of fight I did, my phone would be ringing off the hook. Crickets. Because, nobody WANTS any of this. So. I give Perry credit. She's willing to step in with me. But. She's going to be sorry."

"No question," says Katy with a nod, "She can fight. If She gets work, she's going to beat a lot of people at welter. But. Not me."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Get The Funk Out Ma Face' by the Brothers Johnson, and here comes the long and lovely Deborah Ann Woll..."

McCarthy: "Yet ANOTHER bimbo with NO FCBA wins! Maybe I should have died my ICONIC blonde hair red and DEMANDED to be on this card, so that SOMEone with some talent would have been in the ring tonight."

Cassie: "Let's keep in mind that your 'iconic' blonde hair is blonde due to the use of truck loads of BLEACH..."

McCarthy: "Like YOURS is natural!"

Tess: "Maybe not, but at least Cassie's CHEST isn't full of SILICONE..."

McCarthy: "YOU...SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and, as Deborah is helped off with the robe, drink in her toned body in that black bikini. And, that's 'California Gurls' booming through the arena, and here comes the singer of that little ditty, 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

Cassie: "Perry a girl who inserted herself into the welterweight title picture very quickly. And, while management insists she'll continue to work at light, where she's a former champion, she has a plenty of potential above 130."

O'Dell: "Katy into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that red two-piece we've seen before. And, it's time for some picks. Tess likes Katy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Perry."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Woll making with the long left jab. Woll's got some reach on Perry, and she's going to make use of it early. Katy angling, wants to stay at range where she can extend on her punches. Finding spots to get off and putting punches on target in combination."

Tess: "Woll not giving any ground, though. She's willing to hold ground and fire back."

O'Dell: "Sure is, and the result is some good, ranged warfare with both fighters landing solid shot in among the jabs. Nobody hurt, but plenty of sharp leather being exchanged in the opening stanza. Fighters moving well, and not just the feet, head and hands as well. Nobody an easy target, but leather's finding those targets anyway."

Cassie: "Woll has a VERY nice jab. It's crisp and accurate. She can cause a lot of girls problems with it."

O'Dell: "She certainly caused some for McKinney. We're down to fifteen seconds in the first. It's been a good, two-way round and nobody's really established any kind of lead. Good exchange again, and Woll got the better of that one, backing Perry up with a right hand. There's the bell. Close. Deborah Ann."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Perry a bit more aggressive to start the second. She's looking to step to and back up Woll and it's working. Redhead being forced to give some ground now in the face of a barrage of heavy leather from the former lightweight champion. Deborah Ann circling with a drop step, but she's on the back foot."

McCarthy: "And, that's exactly where you want an opponent."

O'Dell: "Which is why Perry's working so hard to keep her rival there. Katy's got things rolling right now. Woll thrown almost completely to the defensive, and the Front Streeter's rolling up some points and piling up some punishment while she's at it. Woll not hurt, but she's definitely taking the worst of it at the moment."

Tess: "Perry starting to look for the big shot right now, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "No question about it. Woll good defensively, though. She's making things hard on Perry. Katy up to the challenge, though. She's finding range readily and getting shot on target. Just five seconds left to go in the second. GOOD combination by Perry at the bell. Katy and wide in this frame."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Perry looking to press the advantage early, but Woll now holding ground again and firing back and we've got ourselves a firefight ladies and PERRY'S ROCKED! Woll with a NASTY right hand and Katy's wobbled! And Deborah Ann now letting the hands go in a big way!"

McCarthy: "Just remember who called this upset when it happens!"

O'Dell: "Redhead winging away, backing up the former champion, landing TONS of hard shot. Katy with the guard high, definitely in some trouble right now. Sturdy legs holding her up for the moment, but Deborah trying to take care of all that with both power and volume and she just might get it done!"

Cassie: "Referee's watching closely. Katy doing a LOT of taking right now..."

O'Dell: "That, she is, but she's taking a licking and continuing to tick. She's also staying off the ropes and jabbing back here and there. She's doing enough to stay in the fight, but not any more than that. GOOD right from Woll with just ten seconds to go. Perry clinches. Referee breaks. There's the bell. Deborah Ann. Wide."

Tess: "And, Woll's back on top 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Woll on a roll. Deborah Ann taking the fight to a buzzed Katy. Perry in slow retreat, trying to hold canvas, but doesn't have the legs to do it. Instead, Woll taking ground, backing the former champion up with flurry after flurry as she looks to finish what would be a big upset..."

Cassie: "But, from what I'm seeing right now, it might not be as big an upset as people thought coming in."

O'Dell: "Woll backs Perry to the ropes for the first time and dials it up to eleven! She's ripping punches at Perry, looking for the 'off' switch. Katy keeping the guard high, continuing to counter in spots, just looking to run some clock here. Woll a GOOD right hand, and that shook Perry!"

Tess: "Ref not going to watch much more of this."

O'Dell: "Won't have to in this round. Twenty seconds to go. Katy tying up. Woll shoves off, digs some body, goes back to the head. Perry tying up again. Ref stepping in to break them. Five seconds left. Good left hook from Woll and there's the bell. Shutout for the redhead, but Perry still standing."

McCarthy: "But, Woll now up 39-37 after four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Woll in total control to start the fifth. Perry being backed up again as Deborah simply isn't giving the Front Streeter any time or space to shake the punishment she's taken the last two rounds. Instead, the redhead piling up more hurt, sitting down on her punches, looking for what seems to be an inevitable finisher at this point."

McCarthy: "Might not even need to find it at this point. If this keeps up, the ref's going to do the job for her."

O'Dell: "He just might at that. We're half way through the fifth, and Woll in total control. Perry still playing for time. She's firing back here and there, but unable to do much more than that. GOOD right hand by Deborah Ann! That got the attention of the referee, I'm sure, and it got Katy's attention as well..."

Tess: "Like I said last round, ref isn't going to watch much more of this..."

O'Dell: "We're down to fifteen seconds remaining in the round. Deborah Ann stepping to, making with the heavy leather. Katy banging back some, but still getting the worst of things. Five seconds to go. Woll's going to win this round wide, but she's not going to finish, at least not yet. There's the bell."

Cassie: "49-46 for the redhead at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with a firefight! Woll trying to continue to impose will, and Katy not having it. Perry looking to have some leg underneath her now, and she's able to hold ground and fire back with power. TONS of heavy shot flying here, and NOBODY taking a backward step at the moment..."

Cassie: "Somebody's going to, or somebody's going to be on the canvas..."

O'Dell: "Perry crowding Deborah Ann now, going body in a big way. Woll tying up the former champion, looking to force a break and get some space. Katy punching free, right back to work downstairs. Redhead hammering back, both to the head and body. A WHOLE bunch of work being done right now, especially for welterweight..."

Tess: "Yeah, this is a fast pace right now."

O'Dell: "And, both ladies keeping it up. Woll digging some body, then going back upstairs. Katy concentrating on the ribs and midsection, looking to wear her opponent down some. She's going to the head here and there. Five seconds remaining in a competitive sixth. And, there's the bell. Close. Perry."

McCarthy: "But, Woll still up 58-56."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Perry right back at making this thing a 'phone booth' event. She's crowding Woll and going body again. Former champ's found something she likes on the inside, and she's enforcing those terms, much to the redhead's dismay. Woll wants space, but isn't finding it. To her credit, however, she's holding her own very well inside."

McCarthy: "And, this is the key to being a successful fighter in the FCBA. If you can only win on YOUR terms, you won't win OFTEN."

O'Dell: "Just a BUNCH of body work going on right now. Katy still concentrating down there, as she did in the previous round, but, now, Deborah Ann's doing the same. She's still working to the head more than Perry, but she's getting a healthy dose of shot to the ribs and midsection in."

Cassie: "Not sure she's going to win this kind of battle against a girl built like Katy, though."

O'Dell: "And, like she HEARD Cassandra Lynn, Woll goes back to the head and backs Perry up with a flurry. Katy stepping right back in, goes body then lands a nice right hook to the head. Ladies tied up. Referee stepping in. Breaks them apart. Perry back to the body and there's the bell. Close again. Again, Perry."

Tess: "And, Katy's cut to within a point, 67-66."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Right back in the phone booth to start the eighth. Woll ties up, shoves Perry off, lands a quick combination before Katy can step to again. Perry determined to make her living downstairs, and it's paying quite nicely, thank you. Woll more of a 60-40 mix now, working some body, but, again, doing more to the head."

Tess: "Deborah Ann pinking up some, but she doesn't seem to be slowing down any."

O'Dell: "No, she does not. Again, she ties up Perry, shoves her off, lands a nice combination. Katy right back inside, head on shoulder stuff now as the big girls dig some serious midsection. Deborah Ann clinches. Referee breaks the pair. Woll lands another nice combination before Perry's in her grill."

McCarthy: "Nice adjustment by Woll. She's having the better of this one as a result."

O'Dell: "Is, indeed. We're into the last thirty seconds of the eighth and Deborah Ann's got the edge. Again, she ties up Katy, shoves off. lands a good right hand. Perry right back to, digging to the ribs now. Woll ties up. Referee steps between the pair, working hard to break them. Does. There's the bell. Deborah Ann back on the board."

Cassie: "And, Woll leads it 77-75 with two to go."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Right back to the booth in the ninth. Katy able to work past Woll's glove at will now. Deborah Ann clinching, but Perry levering with the shoulder, opening up Woll's body and working it with hard shots. She's tenderizing meat in there now, Mac, and that can not feel good at this point..."

McCarthy: "No, Woll HAS to be hurting to the body, but, give this kid credit, she's taking that punishment like a champion."

O'Dell: "And, she's firing back in kind. Again, the redhead tying up, trying to get some space that way, but Perry punching free and landing a HARD right hand that backed Deborah Ann up a step. Katy steps right to, goes back to the midsection. Woll ties up and this time she gets her break."

Cassie: "This thing showing every sign of coming down to the last round."

O'Dell: "Indeed, it is. Perry banging some more body. Woll wrapping around the head. Katy shoves off, lands a short right hook that had something behind it. Redhead ties up, hangs on, gets her break. She lands a nice one-two before Perry is on her again, landing some short hooks to the body at the bell. Close. Perry."

Tess: "And, it's going to come down to the tenth. 86-85, Woll."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Three minutes to go, and, if Katy has her way, they'll be spent in the phone booth. Perry again forcing the issue, crowding Woll, working the body. Deborah Ann clinching, looking to force a break and get some space, but the former champ shrugging her off and going right back to work."

Tess: "Both fighters have to know this thing is close, and both are going to want the points here."

O'Dell: "Our cards could be off, of course, but, if we're right, Perry needs a win to send this to OT. Katy digging to the midsection as the redhead ties up again. Katy levering, NAILING WOLL WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Deborah Ann staggered and DOWN SHE GOES AFTER A STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "And that thing landed ON THE BUTTON!"

O'Dell: "Redhead splashed to her back. Katy to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Woll not moving at all. I think the lights may be out, and it's no wonder. Seven. Eight. Nine. It's not going to happen for Deborah Ann. TEN! And it's OVER! And your winner by KO10 after one heck of a fight, 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

McCarthy: "Lucky. Just lucky."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, what a fight..."

Katy (nodding): "Yeah. We knew she was a challenge coming in, after what we saw against McKinney. I knew I could beat her. But, I knew it would be an all night thing."

Tess: "You've had some huge fights this year, Strahovski, Rhoda, Atkinson..."

Katy (smiling): "Yeah. And, we've still got four months to go."
