ALEXANDRA DADDARIO VS EIZA GONZALEZ

Alexandra: 32 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 13-11-1, 12 KO since 2014. Foxfire Boxing

Eiza: 28 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m). 7-9-0, 7 KO since 2015, Odds ‘n Ends Fight Studio

Before: No doubt what this bout will be: a grudge match. Eiza had been enjoying a modest comeback when she lost a beach fight to Alexandra last month. Eiza had been left on her knees in the sand, hair hanging across her face as she could not rise before being counted out.

“I swore I would not let that loss stand,” Eiza says turning her blazing eyes on Alexandra. “I will take Daddario down and leave her crying in the sand. She will not have a second victory over me to boast about.”

Alexandra seems resentful of the hostility: “It was just a beach fight. I won., Eiza lost. Move on, already—but since she won’t I am obliged to beat her to her knees again.”

Eiza reacts with fury to that comment, she lunges at Alexandra and gives her a ringing slap across the face. Alexandra instantly responds in kind and it looks like we may not get to the actual boxing match tonight. However, just as things are about to get out of hand, FCBA Security floods into the stage. The two angry young women are led away to cool off. Fortunately, there is only a slight delay in getting the fighters to the ring, but Security keeps the two sides apart.

Alexandra enters the ring first, she removes her short robe to reveal a blue one piece suit with ALEXANDRA across the front in white letters. She is wearing blue gloves with white laces. Her hair is pulled back in ponytail. Foxfire’s lightweight trainer Rachel Nichols is with her and they are accompanied by Foxfire’s young lightweight Sophie Turner.

Next comes Eiza Gonzalez who is attired in a white string bikini with blue horizontal lines. She wears white gloves with blue laces. Her hair has been wetted down and is hanging loose. She is accompanied by the O & E trainer and stablemate Courtney Tailor.

The bad feelings from the clash in the press tent still lingering as Eiza and Alex get into a body bumping contest. Referee cracks down with stern finger waving lecture and order is restored long enough to get the fighters through the ring instruction. The “tap of the gloves” is more like a nasty smack, but the fighters do depart for their corners. Moment’s lull then DING! DING! The bell sounds. It’s on!...

R1: Hard punching action as soon as Eiza and Alex and can within punching distance. Alexandra going for Eiza’s juggs with straight driving rights and lefts. Eiza knocked back a couple of steps, but then digs a left hook into Alex’s gut and tips her forward. Fast right uppercut to the chin knocks Alex back. Eiza and Alex then plunge forward, slamming their bodies together, bouncing off and pounding leather into each other’s torso. Eiza now banging Alexandra’s boobies and then slipping down to hook the belly. Alexandra putting uppercuts into the underside of Eiza’s bikini top and giving her ribcage a roasting. Two circling around on the sand in a very small box as they look each other in the eye as each beauty is going hard to break down the other. Alexandra shifts attention to overhand rights and lefts that go over Eiza’s gloves to bust up her face. Eiza falling back now, trying to use the jab to limit Alex’s pursuit and does slow her down. Alex goes to the belly late and her digging hooks have Eiza up on her toes, but Eiza jabbing back hard to keep it close. Bell rings and referee jumps in quickly. It is a close round with Alexandra Daddario pulling it out.

R2: Bell sounds and the two fighters go right back at one another. Alexandra going for the belly again, but runs into that nasty Eiza Gonzalez jab that hammers hard to the breasts and face. Alexandra’s face now lumping up with rapidly reddening bruises and she pulls back to recover. Eiza not wanting any recovery, goes after Alexandra with jerking hooks to the belly and more hard swings to the boob line. Alexandra rallying, manages to knock Eiza back with shots to the chin and then rocks her with blows to the sides of the head. However Eiza responds with two good right uppercuts to the chin. Alexandra falls back on trembling stems and Eiza pounds her midsection. Alex makes a stand behind her jab and manages to stall Eiza’s advance, but then she tries to counterattack only get hit hard on the jaw by an Eiza right cross. Alexandra again staggered, but stays up and uses jab to again stall Eiza’s follow-up. Bell rings. Another close round, but this one goes to Eiza Gonzalez.

R3: Intensity shows no sign of slackening as the third stanza begins. Eiza and Alex swift across the sand and get up close to start punching. Both bodies are getting mercilessly shelled. The bare flesh between Eiza’s bikini top and bottoms are showing overlapping bruises. Alexandra’s one piece conceals what’s happening to her body, but there are rips in the fabric from Eiza’s blows and bruised flesh can be glimpsed as the two struggle for dominance. Alexandra targeting Eiza’s belly this round and the heavy blows force Eiza to hunch forward. Eiza not pausing, but she can’t seem to get Alexandra to give ground. Then Alexandra launches a frenzied series of left and right punches to the sides of Eiza’s head. Eiza desperately jabs at Alexandra’s breasts, but it’s not enough to keep from being forced to retreat. It’s a slow, stubborn retreat, but Alexandra making it happen. Eiza finds Alex’s chin late to bring the attack to a sudden halt, but time runs out. Yet another close round, but this time the win goes to Alexandra’s side of the judges’ cards.

R4: The battle rages on as the fourth round begins. No fancy footwork here, Alexandra and Eiza still preferring to grind their way to victory. Eiza does open with a couple of quick ones to Alexandra’s chin. Alexandra momentarily stunned and Eiza works the belly, but then Alex snaps out of it to crack Eiza to the jaw with a lightning right to the jaw. Eiza stunned and Alex attacks to the ribcage and breasts. Eiza shows fast recovery as she jabs Alex in the mouth with her jab and then puts one squarely into Alexandra’s right eye. Alex recoils from the eye shot and Eiza surges forward with hooks to the body as Alex raises her gloves to protect her eye. Eiza starting to push Alex back towards the ropes. Alex senses the danger and digs her feet into the jab as she launches desperate counters. Eiza battered by Alex’s counters is brought to a abrief halt, but now she moves around Alex and resumes attack. Fierce back and forth as the sweat is flying from the straining bodies with neither Alex or Eiza moving. Then Eiza drops back and Alex lurches forward off balance. BANG! Alex takes a hard one to the right eye which is already swelling and discolored. Impact goes through Alex like an electric shock. She falls back and Eiza tries to get her into the ropes. Alex fighting desperately again manages to weaken Eiza’s attack. The bell rings. Another close round and this time the narrow win goes to Eiza Gonazalez.

R5: Foxfire corner crew working hard during break. They seem especially concerned about the swollen area around Alexandra’s right eye. They do their best and Alex leaves her stool at the bell looking aggressive. Unfortunately for Alexandra, Eiza comes off her stool looking even more aggressive. Eiza keeps pumping shots at that right eye. Alexandra obliged to keep her guard up high to block these blows. Eiza then goes to Alex’s body with the strongest hooks to the belly she’s shown in this bout. Alexandra driven up on her toes and then belly pounded again. Alex jackknifes forward and Eiza unleashes more power punching to the sides of Alex’s head. Alex sent stumbling away with Eiza moving smoothly with her and keeps up the pressure. Alex realizes she is about to hit the ropes, tries to turn and slip away. No go. Eiza blocks the way. Aldx tries to push her way through. As they struggle, Eiza sees an opening and BAM! She gets an overhand right passed Alex’s gloves and into that right eye. Alex spins away in disarray and her back hits the ropes with her arms spread against the top rope. BAM! BAM! BAM! Eiza goes to the jaw, swiveling Alexandra’s head first one way and then the other. Then KA-POW! A beautiful right uppercut under the chin lifts Alexandra onto her toes and DOWN SHE GOES! Alexandra crashes face-down onto the sand and lies there twitching. Eiza trotting over to the neutral corner. Referee moving In. Alexandra starts to stir. Her fans cheer as she pushes herself up with her hands against the sand. The count is rising as she manages to get onto her knees. The count passes “SEVEN!...” Alexandra’s face contorts as she tries to rise, but she seems frozen, her legs trembling unable to function. “EIGHT!” Alex tries again and still she can’t get her legs to obey. “NINE!” Alex tries again, but then bursts into tears as she realizes she is not going to do it: “TEN!”…YOU ARE OUT!”

THE WINNER: EIZA GONZALEZ OF ODDS & ENDS FIGHT STUDIO DEFEATS ALEXANDRA DADDARIO OF FOXFIRE BOXING KO5!

AFTER: Eiza gets hugged and helped out of her gloves by Courtney Tailor. Eiza eagerly rushes across the ring to the Foxfire corner where a demoralized Alexandra is now on her stool being comforted by Rachel Nichols and Sophie Turner.

“The beat you Alexandra! I made you cry! How does it feel loser? Oh, my look at that right eye. You will have such a black eye. I should make you send me of photo so everyone will see how I beat you up,” Eiza gloats.

“Go away!” Alex chokes. “Haven’t you done enough to even things up?”

“Not quite,” Eiza says and hauls Alexandra to her feet. “I have a little road trip in mind.”

The next thing Alexandra knows, she has been forced to climb through the ropes and is pulled by Eiza through the crowd towards the water . Rachel and Sophia angrily object, but Eiza pays them no heed. The crowd helpfully stands aside.

“I always wanted to do this in a beach fight,” Eiza says to a bewildered Alexandra.

Eiza has Alex on the water’s edge, then moves behind her and grabs her by the neck and bottom of her blue swimsuit. Then she gives Alexandra the “bum’s rush” into the water and sends her flying into the ankle deep water. Alexandra splashes down face-first and then sits up drenched and sputtering. Eager bystanders gets lots of photos of Eiza standing over the angry and humiliated Alexandra. Eiza then kicks some water into Alexandra’s face and struts away. Alexandra slams the water in frustration as Sophie and Rachel wade in to pull her back to her feet. Crowd is whooping and cheering at this bonus action.

Quite a unique ending to this grudge match fans agree.

However, the post-fight antics should not take away from what was an exciting back and forth battle between determined opponents. Stirring effort from both Alexandra and Eiza, but Eiza was able inflict the most damage and use it to win a crushing win. Excellent win for the O & E fighter. Alexandra fought hard, but this has to be a bitter lose to swallow. What comes next for the Foxfire boxer remains to be seen. Certainly she can’t afford many more losses like this. If the future is brightening for Eiza Gonzalez, it is looking darker for Alexandra Daddario as she has a world class black eye to remind her in the days after this defeat. Meanwhile the fans have a memorable beach battle to add to their memories and wonder if these two will meet again in an even bigger grudge match. Time will tell.
