Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Back in the conference room backstage, Katheryn Winnick and Kate Beckinsale are set to face-off with words before actions, with neither of them looking like they are too thrilled about this part of the fight ceremony. Nonetheless, Winnick has first dibbs on responding when reporters ask her about her chances in the ring tonight.

“So this is the FIRST time I’m fighting someone older than me…” the blonde jokes, as the rest of the room chuckles along at the jab sent in Beckinsale’s direction. “It’s a good feeling for a change, but let’s face it: Kate has had an amazing career both in the FCBA and Hollywood. I mean, her boxing record speaks for itself. She has more than 70 fights under her belt and she’s still in amazing shape at 45. I respect that a lot and I know I’ll have to be at the top of my game to beat someone like her…but that’s exactly what I plan on doing. She’s 5’7, and that’s going to be quite the problem to solve, but I think I have the answers. I’m really excited for this one. I can’t wait to get into the ring already. So lets finish this boring conference quickly shall we?” Winnick ends with a laugh.

Well, if she was expecting her nice-girl personality to draw a similar response from Beckinsale, she was wrong. Kate fully aware of her ‘Queen of the FCBA’ status, but come on, that doesn’t give her the liberty to dismiss every compliment Katheryn just paid her?

“Kathy darling, I don’t know where you get your delusions from about winning tonight. Like you said, I’m more popular, more experienced, and bigger than you. What it means is this: you’re simply out of my league. I know I just lost a match to that traitor Markle, but you, my dear, are below that little tent-pole of a woman. You know…I’m excited too,” Kate gives a short laugh whilst covering the mouth with the back of her hand. “Excited to make you bow down by the time I’m through with you.”

Phew. Cutting words from the Brit drawing a frown from Winnick’s direction, but hey, at this point, she should be used to every girl coming her way to underestimate her, to their own peril of course.
Its fight time and Winnick is out first, her usual confident grin on full display as the blonde approaches the ring with a light jog accompanied by Carmen Electra and Kristanna Loken. Katheryn is wearing her trademark white sports bra and matching tights, black and white gloves, hair up in a high ponytail. She climbs into the ring swiftly and makes a lap around the ring, waving to her many fans in the arena before settling in her corner, stretching, to some wild cheers. Those cheers die down though as the ‘villain’ for tonight enters the arena, Kate Beckinsale garnering an equal amount of cheers and boos from the capacity crowd here tonight. The brunette waves in all directions with a cold smirk on her face before strutting her way towards the ring, black gloves on her hips. Kate is wearing a black sports bra and matching black short tights, a sharp contrast to Winnick’s white themed attire. Her wet looking hair tied in a sleek tight ponytail. She makes it into the ring, shooting the awaiting blonde a cold b*tch-stare before walking to her own corner and taking her sweet time stretching and having some last words with her own corner crew.

Girls setting up at opposing corners of the ring, fully exploiting the crowds volume in their respective corners. Like Winnick said before, both these gorgeous women may be over 40 but they look nothing like their age, drawing as many hoots as some of their younger counterparts on the roster. Referee doing his job professionally, however, going through the motions and making the final preparations for this clash of queens. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
While Winnick’s faced down plenty of storming foes eager to take her head off before, she hasn't faced someone quite like Kate Beckinsale. Both girls favouring their guard and dual defensive styles on full display: Winnick with a medium guard hovering over her chest, whereas Kate with one arm over half her face, the other ready to poke at her opponent. The result is… not much action to be honest for the first minute, with both women playing it safe. Katheryn fending off jabs to the head with relative ease, only poking back sporadically. Both women appear spooked by the other, scooting quickly out of harm’s way if they happen to get a whiff of the other woman’s scent. However, in the second half, Kate begins to pick up the pace, favouring her right jab more clearly, giving Kath a little more trouble. Winnick grunting and backing away in the final few seconds, getting scarred on the cheek, with the only significant combination that lands this round coming from Beckinsale. Kate takes this round for herself by a big margin, just by showing up.

ROUND 2:
Katheryn’s adaptability is gonna be tested in this fight as another type of beast rears her gorgeous head. How will she deal with a fighter with the same style as hers, much less with far more experience in the ring? First minute sees the same action (or lack thereof) compared to the previous round. Still, Kate emboldened, comes out of the gate jabbing at the same speed as before. Katheryn however able to block or deflect them on her guard, before swinging back with a BLAST of a right hook into Kate’s side! She wasn't expecting that! Kate lets out a half scream, half grunt as the blow bends her body almost in half. Another one-two to the nose drives her back, in full retreat, and she’s left in panic mode for the rest of the round, hounded by Kat’s steady hands at her head. Still, there’s not a significant number of punches actually landing on skin, but it’s a better round for Winnick all the same!

ROUND 3:
Back to the slow, steady grind: girls keeping their distance, occasionally poking at defences but barely making it through. Both of them still too strong, too fresh and alert. After each getting a round apiece, there's a sense of hesitancy in the air instead of the usual bullish need to charge, which is a rare quality amongst many fighters today. Ironically, the crowd adding to the excitement of the match on their behalf, cheering both women on and trying to get them to up the tempo a notch. Kate listening actively to her name being recited over and over again, begins to slap more punches into Katheryn’s face before going after her body. Kath eating hits but clearly leading her opponent on, taking the early abuse and then dishing it back to a stunned face of Beckinsale, who was clearly thinking that she was the one leading here. Winnick ends the round with a blunt parry of her right hand off to side, sending Kate stumbling off awkwardly, before burying a slick uppercut into her body. The bell rings before Katheryn can swing a final, big punch to land the kill, but there's little doubt that Beckinsale’s the one left gasping in tatters.

ROUND 4:
Just goes to show: you often slip up against a defensive fighter by going on the offensive yourself, no matter how ironic that sounds. That would of course explain the hesitancy throughout this fight. Kate learnt her lesson, hanging *way* back now, and letting Kath pick up the pace herself. Winnick also cautiously circling inwards, jabbing straights into Kate’s guard, but having trouble pinning her down. Beckinsale all too glad to absorb, before crashing Kat’s party with choice straight crosses that batter the middle of her forearms. The first one lands hard, stunning Kath a little. But the second one makes her eyes bulge as it lands hard on her midsection. Mouth open, a shiver travels through her body as the blow cuts her in half. Kate steps in to take advantage, left hand battering the top half of her torso, before another right hand whips her head hard to the side! UGHH. Kath in bad shape all of a sudden, trying to catch herself from tumbling face-down onto the ground. No such luck - Beckinsale still on her and in her way, battering hard on the door - in this case, Katheryn’s head - until the blonde is literally forced down to the ground with an overhand left hand from Beckinsale! KNOCKDOWN!

Disaster struck for the Doll on home soil as her opponent bullies her way to victory this round. However, glimmer of hope as Winnick sent down, but already scrambling back to her feet, pulling the ropes for support. There's a crestfallen look on her face, for sure, but at least her eyes are still open and blinking rapidly.

Last minute on the clock and Beckinsale showing restraint, betraying her true feelings only with a sly smirk as the round resumes. Make no mistake - Kate’s still the one in control here, stalking forward and trying to end the round on a dominant note. But Winnick not giving her any clear shots to work with. She’s scrambling out of the way, counter-jabbing at her head to dissuade her. Bell ends and both ladies end up at opposing sides of the ring. It’s Beckinsale’s round from that early knockdown though, as we head into the middle mark and more uncertainty.

ROUND 5:
For two defensive fighters, both women certainly scoring aplenty. They circle and shake, trying to out-maneuver the other. If Kate was hoping to have an easy time here, however, she’s clearly disappointed, finding Kath’s guard still intact and holding strong. Beckinsale pounding away on it regardless, attempting to break the stranglehold, but gets shocked to the face when Winnick flits her fists back into her nose. Wild exchange in the middle as both girls look to capitalise, but end up panting in each other’s arms in the clinch, before they push off at the same time to reset in corners. Kate doing slightly more damage this round, but that's not saying much either. Winnick slightly more cautious, and that's paying off in the long run.

ROUND 6:
Slow start to the sixth, as both girls catch their breaths and move sideways instead or forward. Kate taking the initiative again, trying to score on the face and body, but gets PUSHED backwards when Winnick unleashes a straight right into the middle of her guard. This Brit certainly has something to prove by constantly taking this many fights over and over. But this ain't it, it seems. She’s getting driven back by the middle mark, not knowing how to deal with Katheryn’s powerful cross punches that are landing with power, some of which even piercing the tummy as Kath also experiments with the body abuse. Of course, aggressor Kate not going to take this punishment lying down. She surges forward pass the second minute, intent on giving the blonde back ten-fold, and fully expecting to take some collateral damage along the way. It’s only by Katheryn’s alertness does she stymy the Brit’s efforts, easily avoiding a couple of hooks to the head before banging her own off the sides of Kate’s body. Kate groaning and moaning by this point of time, forced to back up for the upteenth instance, and allowing Winnick to score punches all the way back to the bell. Bad move for her right there as she gets more and more reckless when she’s on the losing side.

ROUND 7:
The girls head into the seventh and it’s not a place both of them really want to be. But little choice do they have as neither of them willing to back down, or go down, without a fight. Kate hounding the head early with jabs, learning her lesson from the previous round to not charge in blindly. Fine with Winnick, of course, who mirrors the same thing and also pokES steadily at Kate’s defences. Both women scoring to the face periodically, but by this time, their tired bodies reacting to the sharp, stinging pain on instinct, immediately moving away from each other instead of surging forward to amp up the action. At the end of three minutes, I’d say neither girl really takes this round for herself, a combination of their hesitancy and exhaustion beginning to seep into mutual reality.

ROUND 8:
Even at 45 years of age, Beckinsale’s body has a limit to how much it’s willing to be pushed… No matter how fit as a fiddle she may look or how confident that smile is on her face on every magazine cover, when she’s hounded by punches up top and down below, she’s bound to get sapped of strength and energy by a certain point. Her body ready to throw in the towel here, and Winnick, of course, can be argued to be in a similar situation herself, but at least the blonde is fighting smarter and more focused, dealing with Kate’s early aggression with measured counter-blows that rock the face and slam hard into the body. Kate left wheezing and bent over by the end of the first minute, with her opponent closing the net bit by bit by advancing on her position. Katheryn sensing that this might be the best time to strike, using a fast combination to get Kate’s guard up, then hooking a punch into the ribs, before her off with a precise uppercut that ROCKS the forearms. Kate being driven backwards one step at a time, still stubbornly holding onto her sanity. It’s only when Katheryn landS another sharp one into her chin does her eyes roll upwards in pain and shock, the culmination of pain and exhaustion finally sealing her fate in the coffin. A hook to the face sends the ‘Queen of the FCBA’ herself collapsing down to the ground HARD, and that is where she stays! Referee counting the defeated brunette out all the way to ten as a mere formality!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Kate Beckinsale via KO8!

AFTER:
It’s another loss on Beckinsale’s record, and ANOTHER impressive victory for Katheryn Winnick, as the simply exhausted looking blonde uses her last ounces of strength to celebrate in ring with her hands high in the air and a big smile of relief plastered across her face. She certainly deserves this win tonight - everything went well in her favour, and she managed to stay classy whilst putting Kate away as well.

Beckinsale getting ignored the entire time as Winnick lifts a hand high to each corner of the arena, cementing her dominance inside the squared circle. That being said, not much Kate can do to protest either, as she’s brought back to her senses by the medics in the corner, looking like she’s in no position to hurl any insults this time.

“I knew she was a dangerous opponent, even at 45, but no matter who you are, you gotta give me some respect in there or you’ll get outboxed,” A visibly fatigued Winnick tells reporters on her way out of the ring “It took 8 long rounds and I got beat up pretty badly…but I took her out. I’m not a f*cking rookie. Respect your opponent girls! Too bad 70+ fights didn’t teach Kate that.” she ends with another wink at the cameras, before heading back up the ramp, shadowed by Carmen and the rest of her stablemates.
