BEFORE:
Get ready for our Co-Main Event of the evening, with Emma Watson and Selena Gomez battling for the third time and ultimate bragging rights. Back in 2012, Gomez made the mistake of underestimating the Brit by saying she had ‘no respect for her skills’, only to get punched out with a tenth round unanimous decision. Well, Gomez certainly redeemed herself last year, getting her revenge and knocking Emma’s lights out by the seventh.

Both girls looking to repeat history tonight as they square off at the podium for a third dance. There’s no touching of gloves, just steely smiles into faces as they follow all the rest of the referee’s directives, except for the one to show each other mutual respect.

Later, at the pre-fight press briefing, Emma arching her eyebrows in some incredulity at a reporter’s query about whether the outcome tonight will simply be a repeat of their previous encounter.

“I’d hardly say that’s going to be the case. Don’t forget that I won the war of attrition against Selena way back when we first met. And I’ve definitely evolved as a fighter since then. The way Selena fights - it’s all one-dimensional, predictable, American. I think I stand a good chance tonight of putting her away,” Emma stating confidently in that passive-aggressive tone that’s so characteristic of her fellow countrywomen.

Gomez, on the other hand, understandably scoffing at her words. Over in America (as we all know), the girls don’t mince their words with their true thoughts and feelings...

“You know what? I meant every word back in 2012: this girl can’t freakin’ fight. She’s overrated, with an over-bloated record the size of the Titanic. I demonstrated this just a few months ago, but if Watson wants another taste of reality-check medicine, I’ll be happy to force it down her throat tonight...”

In the ring, Emma showing off more skin than normal, with a white loose crop top and black bikini bottoms, complete with navy blue gloves. Gomez in red brassiere top, black briefs as well, finishing the seductive look with a pair of white mitts. HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Selena wasting little time and punching at Watson’s head from the very beginning, using the same tactic like the last time they fought to overwhelm the Brit. Emma showing a lot more aggression than she’s normally used to, however, starts creating problems for her own self early when her advance is met with a barrage of punches from Gomez, who’s adamant at keeping her at bay. Selena sticking the glove into the face repeatedly as a result, and Emma’s attempts to get close into the pocket are denied over and over. The Brit resorting to punching back from afar, landing some jabs to the singer’s body and chin late in the round, but it ain’t nearly enough to redeem herself this time: Selena just scoring more and more often, taking the first round wide, just like she said she would.

ROUND 2:
Emma losing her own confidence rapidly… Instead of sticking to her guns and meeting Gomez head on, she opts to hang back in the second round, thinking that she can survive and counter-attack. Gomez not giving her that satisfaction, however, quickly adapting to her slow start by taking the fight back to her: Emma gasping as she narrowly avoids another flurry to her face, raising her guard just in time to absorb. But she’s too slow and unawares to avoid that follow-up left-right combo to her tummy, Gomez swinging her arms low and fast, impacting the body in quick succession of strikes. Emma grunting, can’t decide whether to retreat or go for broke in the middle of this round. Her indecisiveness against costing her dearly, with Gomez having no such hesitations between her swings at her foe. Emma battered all the way about the ring, all the way to the bell. Well, at least she’s still standing, even though this is one textbook way to lose a round in convincing fashion. Selena blowing her ‘rival’ a kiss as she turns on the spot and heads back to corner, determined to win the psychological battle as much as she’s dominating the physical one.

ROUND 3:
Selena still puckering those lips of hers as the bell rings for them to start fighting, her overconfidence getting the better of the Disney starlet when Emma flies forward and PUNTS a right hand straight into her face! OUCH. Selena’s expression turns to pure shock and pain as it lands hard on her nostrils and lips, and suddenly she’s forced to keep her balance as the Brit’s blows just keep on landing in quick succession! If there’s any testimony to how much Emma has grown since she debuted all those years ago, it’s right here, folks. She’s channeling that inner-brawler vibes as she keeps Gomez in her crosshairs, hounding her with leather up top and then swiping down low at the toned belly below. All this while, Selena trying to get the f*ck away, but she’s too blinded by the sheer number of punches that she’s practically given up her lower defences, can only clinch up with the taller girl and pray for the best. Emma getting controlled in the last few seconds by the sturdier woman’s clutches, but Selena is not doing this for points’ sake, but for survival’s. She’s hanging onto Watson’s shoulders while her body keeps on eating blows left and right hup hup hup hup, all the way to the bell when the referee finally forces the separation. Return shutout round for Emma as she displays her ability to bang, and bang hard!

ROUND 4:
None of that winking condescension from Watson’s corner, of course - she’s too British to insult her opponent like that. On the other hand, she’s perfectly content to punch Gomez in the face repeatedly, using her aggressive tactics to get in close and hound her with lefts and rights over and over. Selena trying to at least punch back periodically, and defend with the guard, but after the third straight cross slams stiffly into her cheek, she’s hellbent on forcing the distance again, no matter how many counter-blows she manages to land on Emma’s tummy from the side. Watson eagerly following, though cautiously, wary of the defensive jab that Gomez is flicking back at her head in mid-retreat. Both girls scoring punches this round, but Selena clearly on the back-burner as she’s forced to back away for the second time this fight.

ROUND 5:
Girls meet in the center early on in the fifth and f*cking THROW DOWN! Rapid exchange of punches to the face and body as Gomez gets a taste of brawling action herself! It’s a small wonder how hard this big girl can hit - she may be shorter, but her lower center of gravity giving her some much needed power behind those hooks as she hammers at Emma’s guard. Watson however taking the shots on her raised forearms, whilst concentrating on what matters most: SHOCK of an uppercut sent up and down the middle, snapping Selena’s head back when it connects with her chin! Wince of the eyes as the American singer goes reeling, her legs suddenly screwed loose! HERE COMES WATSON, looking to finish! Right hand followed by a left swipes at the face, sending the head in opposite directions one after another… Gomez letting out double UGGH HNNNGGG as a final uppercut to the jawline seals the deal, sending her falling face-first to her knees! KNOCKDOWN for Emma Watson early in this fight!

Crowds roaring in both appreciation and protest as Emma allows herself a small grin on the way back to corner! Selena’s turned onto her back, her face partially sliding down Emma’s abs on the way down just moments ago, her heaving chest now rising and falling as she wonders if she has the will to recover. But apart from that, ladies and gents, there’s little else signs of life in the American! Her arms are over her head, eyes fluttering and mouth open, and the referee WAVES it off after the count of ten! This fight is OVER!

Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Selena Gomez via KO5!

AFTER:
Shout of triumph from Emma’s corner as she puts away a rival JUST. LIKE. THAT! A big win for the VIXENs in this war between elite athletes, and for Emma herself, a personal victory over in a vendetta spanning back years in memory. No sympathy from the Brit, however, which is uncharacteristic of her as she stands astride Gomez’s snoozing form on the floor, before flexing her arms for the cameras. WOW - who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger??

It’s like a new dramatis personae appearing in the wake of her victory, a confident Watson doing everything in her power to show the world that she’s back and better than ever.

The score now in the VIX/Lioness stable war inconsequential, with the Vixens ALREADY taking the win by 3-1 margin, by our count. Celebrations surely must be erupting backstage at this very moment, with the girls cheering on Emma’s sealing of the deal, but hey - let’s not forget that we still have into our last match of the evening - our Main-Event and arguably the ONLY match that matters on the card tonight.

Regardless of who won this war, these two ladies are set on winning their own personal vendetta that’s coming up next!
