(Results: Lookout!, Words: Caspian)

5. Main-Event: Kate Beckinsale vs Natalie Dormer (Bantamweight)

Kate:

(45, 5’7, 42:28:3 FCBA, Empire Boxing)

Natalie:
(36, 5’6, 9:10:1 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:

Things certainly not looking too good for the so-called ‘Queen of the FCBA’ herself, with an unlucky string of recent losses making many question Beckinsale’s future in the ring. At 45 though, no one would dare question Kate’s fitness and stamina, especially when she’s looking more in shape than plenty of other girls in the division, along with another fight lined up in seven days, and even rumours swirling that Beckinsale and the GOAT herself might be in for a future tumble.

“Of course, I’m bloody tired of losing. First to Markle, then to Winnick. Dormer’s an old enemy of mine, so I want to end this night on a positive note by beating the snot out of her. I hear all the shouts and screams for me to hang it, but I’ll bloody well do it when I’m ready, and not a second earlier.”

Dormer another oddity who’s had mixed success in the ring. At one point she was labelled as the next big thing in the division, only to get abruptly dropped by her stable and left in perpetual limbo. She’s defeated Kate once before already, in a wild battle. And tonight, she’s given the chance to prove that that result was no fluke.

“Is this the best my management could come up with?” Natalie lamenting to reporters next. “An over-aged opponent whom I’ve already beat before. Come on… I deserve better than Kate. And I’ll prove it a second time if I have to.”

Girls face off in the middle of the ring, with steady stares into faces. Kate in a royal blue loose top, white bikini bottoms, whereas Natalie in all-black bra and panties, red gloves. Ten years’ age difference here, folks - will it make a difference a second time round? HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action to find out!

ROUND 1:

Kate taking things slow, knows she needs to pace herself if she has a chance of winning this. Dormer on the other hand wants to secure this win fast and decisively, comes onto Kate frequently and jabbing high. But Beckinsale taking it on the gloves or simply out of reach, and this exchange goes on for the first two minutes, with both women getting used to each other’s fighting style all over again. Kate actually scoring a few jabs to Dormer’s nostrils in the last minute, seeing the shock on the blonde’s face more than worth it. Bell rings and it’s a slow start indeed to this contest. Things didn’t go very well for Natalie, however, as she storms back to corner demanding an explanation from her corner at how they managed to screw up her game plan.

ROUND 2:
Well, it seems to have been good advice - Dormer more cautiously advancing this time round, but advancing she still is, thereby putting pressure on Beckinsale as she looks to evade and counter-punch. But it’s difficult with your opponent constantly cutting you off by anticipating your footwork, then only launching punches at your face when you least expect it. Doesn’t feel very good either to get outplayed, isn’t it? Dormer mostly scoring on the fellow’s Brit’s toned tummy, drawing some gasps from lips, but nothing serious enough to stagger her badly. Kate needs to pick things up as well - some return shots into the chest in the middle mark and some grazing the cheek, but they ain’t gonna be enough to win her this fight in the long run.

ROUND 3:
And here Beckinsale goes! It appeared to be another slow build-up in the opening seconds, with both girls dancing left and right and only exchanging jabs to the guard early on. But then Beckinsale senses an opening and POWERS a right hand aimed right down the sights! Natalie shocked, no doubt, as the punch rattles her by connecting hard, sending her flying back into the ropes and looking shaken for a moment. Kate rushing in, drilling the stomach with a left, left, right, before sacking the guard with more forced uppercuts down the middle and up, intending to break Natalie’s bank right here and now. But Dormer bracing herself quite well, holding firm as she takes the body abuse but lives to fight another day by protecting her chin. Another swing to the head misses, and Dormer takes the chance to clinch forward, controlling the older woman effectively as they rotate bodies along the ropes in the hopes of getting another clean shot. No dice for either woman this time, but Beckinsale at least taking the round (and the overall lead) for herself with an impressive performance here.

ROUND 4:
More shenanigans as Kate comes out of the gate looking as strong as a horse, but more importantly, punching like a death-kangaroo on steroids. Now it’s Natalie’s turn to deal with the constant flow of jabs being thrown at her head. She fires back occasionally, snagging a left or a right into Beckinsale’s chest, but almost always leaves her face clear and open for more straight hands that land on her chin, which snap the head back in one nasty combo. Natalie again needs to reevaluate her strategy, finding out the hard way here that Kate can also be a brawler when she needs to be. Beckinsale giving chase for the first two minutes, before visibly tiring in the third when Nat manages to evade her. Natalie at a comfortable distance as she takes more steps to the left and right, looks more concerned with avoiding a humiliating knockdown then trying to fire back at her foe. Kate surges ahead in terms of points by the end of this round, but we’re worried that her age might be catching up to her very soon...

ROUND 5:
Those telltale signs that perhaps, just maybe, Kate Beckinsale’s retirement is only around the corner, start to appear in the fifth. Natalie testing the waters early, scooting in close and landing not one, nor two, but three sudden jabs into the brunette’s face, disorientating her for sure as her eyes start to water from the pain. Dormer seizing the opportunity, keeping Kate at arm’s reach and just lighting her face up with another constant stream of jabbing. Beckinsale must be kicking herself at having her lead evaporate so rapidly and carelessly in front of her eyes. Her limbs already visibly tiring as she does her best to counter-punch in Natalie’s direction, but there’s no doubt who’s in control of this particular round, with the constant pressure exerted giving Natalie a considerable lead.

ROUND 6:
One, two, as Natalie resumes her torture of fellow Brit, who was struggling slightly to even get off her stool when the bell rung moments earlier. The 45-year old may have the outward appearance of a late 20-something, but we’re guessing there’s only so much the body can withstand internally, especially in a competitive sport like boxing that demands excellent stamina. Natalie showing little mercy though as she continues to circle and jab, not quite yet moving in for the kill. Instead, Dormer wanting to make sure that her win is irrefutably legit, and the process of breaking down her former opponent would thoroughly humiliate them for the rest of their lives. Kate can’t catch a break even after the end of three minutes, with most of her swings hitting air or slamming into Dormer’s guard. The Game of Thrones starlet takes this round via shutout, if we’re reading this right!

ROUND 7:
Can our dear Kate recover in time? She’s certainly trying to look as though she can keep up with her younger counterpart, but she’s having trouble pinning Natalie down to one spot in order to send more punches her way. Well, if only it were that simple, eh? Early on, Beckinsale does manage to land a quick combo to the body, drawing a sharp gasp from Dormer’s lips as she backs away. CUE BECKINSALE, who opts to rush in suddenly, in the hopes of finishing her off before she can recover! Dormer taking another right hook on her forearms, blowing her to the side, but just before Kate can follow-up with another swing in the opposite direction, Dormer PLANTS a hard one right smack on the bottom of Beckinsale’s chin, sending her entire body convulsing with a shudder, with Kate Beckinsale crumpling down into the canvas itself!

A glorious KNOCKDOWN for Natalie Dormer here, in what’s quickly turning into a repeat broadcast from their earlier encounter. Kate, however much as though she wished to even the score today, is not even moving on the ground, spreadeagled in all directions and only her chest pulsing up and down! Referee hits the count of 10 and this fight is OVER!

Official Decision: Natalie Dormer defeats Kate Beckinsale via KO7!

AFTER:

Another sad run for the legendary Kate Beckinsale. It must be true, what they say - boxing has now become a younger person’s game. Once she’s brought back around by the medics, she repeatedly tells them she’s feeling OK, even though the medics keep on asking her if she’s alright. Well, they can’t be too careful, especially with an almost-elderly person getting punched in the face repeatedly moments ago.

Dormer with that cheeky, devious smirk on her face - that same one in her hit television show, Game of Thrones, as though she alone holds the secrets to the universe, and is unwilling to share them. The blonde parading around the ring and soaking in the accolades from the adoring crowd. If only this girl hadn’t been dropped by management! She’s certainly proved tonight that she still has the goods to continue!

Well, that concludes our event for tonight. We hope you’ve had a fun time witnessing VIX: Hottest on Record at the Four Seasons! Once again, we would like to thank Lookout! for the results, and The Fighting AcademyLioness ClubEmpire Boxingand Kear's Kats for their girls' participation tonight.
